I also live in MD - take it day by day eat right and the weight will come off - Do you hike Patapsco? 170 miles of trails and some nice old ruins to check out. Between Old Frederick Rd to Sykesville is great trails, mainly hikers and runners and less Mt Bikers.

Hitting the Northern section of Virginia on the AT this weekend - weather has been great so far. We hiked AT from Pen Mar, PA to Harpers Ferry, WV last January and couldn't have asked for better weather - looks like this year it' s repeating. Anyone getting in some backpacking this weekend?

Gregory packs are awesome - I have the Med Z65 - love this packs, 30-35lbs feels like it's not on your back, great ventilation 2 thumbs up :)

There is a thing called the MD challenge which is 1 day. (not for me) Weather pending I'm backpacking it Feb 17th - Feb20th. Can't wait. 3 to 4 days is a good hike through MD - lots to see

Last week I did Harpers Ferry to Middletown - my goal is to start from Pen Mar to Harpers Ferry weekend of Feb 20th - I'm hoping the weather will continue to stay mild by then - we've been lucky so far.

I got a new pack tent - Eureka Solitare - EZ lite sleep pad - Kelty 0 degree bag and will be looking into getting a new pack before Feb 20th when I set out for my 4 day hike on the AT :) and yes the pad and bag are excellent - just used this past weekend on the AT in Maryland :)

Thank you - it hasn't been easy but my low cal along hiking 20 miles a week has helped tremendously

Eat tuna or chicken since you are burning calories - plus you'll get that protein

just burn some hard core calories the next day to make up for it, that works for me :)
