Just calorie deficit pretty much. I did a little exercise at the beginning but I have dodgy knees that did NOT like me doing much more than just walking after having a baby and gaining lots of weight! My plan is to start back up with the exercise when I am a bit lighter so it will be kinder to my knees. So yeah - just…

Thank you all so much! It's given me a massive boost to see all your encouraging comments, and I'm really glad I could inspire some people too. I've done crash diets before and lost the same amount of weight in about 3 weeks and looked exactly the same as before, just goes to show that doing it slowly is the right way!…

Fixed the picture now :-)

Gotta be that laid back looking attitude!

Thank you! I have downloaded this on my Kindle and will have a read :-)
-
Wow. You look freaking awesome! Well done.

Thanks! A good read and thanks for referencing and laying it out so well!

My goals: 1. Lose half a stone - DONE! 2. Lose a stone - 6lbs to go 2. Get to pre-pregnancy weight of 173lbs - 18lbs to go 3. Get to a healthy BMI of 164lbs - 27lbs to go 4. Get to ultimate goal weight of 150lbs - 141lbs

So in summary... all methods apart from paying to get a body composition scan somewhere are unreliable! That's ok - I'm not majorly worried and I'm pretty sure my body fat is going down. My scales are quite old and I'm thinking of getting some new ones soon anyway, and maybe just use them as a guide for BF% every so often.
-
ah, ok. What's the best way to measure body fat then?

Maybe I just went back in a bit too full on! I've just stopped breast feeding - about a week ago, so perhaps that was a factor too. Hopefully my knees will feel a little better on Saturday and I can just do intervals again and ease back in. New running shoes will be purchased on pay day!

I'm 5'8 (and a half!) My pics show me at 199lbs and 192lbs (not masses of difference but comparing the pics helps! My goal weight is 150lbs so a way to go yet - 42lbs more!

Wow!! You have done amazingly and you look incredible! Well done. I absolutely LOVE seeing the before and afters of women who have had a baby, stretchmarks and all - it just goes to show that you can still lose the weight and look amazing afterwards. I have a 6 and a half month old son and a similar starting weight…

Female, 5'9 Wrist 6.25 inches, medium frame. Says I should be 139-153lbs. Goal is 154 so just out of range - but I would be fairly small for me at that weight!

Brilliant, thanks! Just checked out IIFYM and did the calculator, which tells me I should be eating 1887 calories a day, 45% carbs, 35% protein and 20% fat. Have changed my goals and I think to get the protein up I will just get myself some protein shake otherwise I will have to spend a fortune on meat!!

Thanks guys! I'm not following the MFP suggested macros, I read on the 'In Place of a Road Map' thread that the 40/30/30 thing is a good split so manually changed my goals to that. Does anyone know if there is a minimum amount of protein I should be getting? And if hitting 40/30/30 is really going to help my weight loss or…

Me British. Bristol, to be precise. Home of Banksy, funny accents and the 'trustafarian' but I still like it here :-) I like Wales, for the dragons. I actually thought they were real until I was about 19 :blushing: Add me if you like people!

"This assumes, of course, that you are not working two jobs, looking after a home and a family and are not too exhausted to do all the preparation, etc. to make the cottage pie by the time you eventually get home. Oh ... and that you would rather spend time in the kitchen working rather than spend that precious time…

Definitely cheaper to eat food cooked from scratch. I'd say it's probably more expensive if you're trying to eat lots of protein though as meat is quite costly... But potatoes, rice, pasta, noodles, tinned tomatoes, onions, garlic, plus a few extra veggies, a bit of cheese, herbs and spices etc and you have a cheap load of…

Nice video. Good, basic, sensible advice. Thanks :-)

My own personal Exante follow-up - I did it 4 times. I lost lots of weight while I was doing it BUT: - It did not teach me how to eat properly. - It turned me into a food-crazed mental person, I could stick to no solid food for about 8 weeks and then I would EAT ALL THE FOOD. Then I'd go on a 'healthy eating diet' eating…

Anyone can add me :-D

-
WOW. Well done! What an inspiration :-)

'I usually do...' I think this is the case in point - this implies that you have to start new 'diets' again and again - something I have done way too often in the past. I don't think anyone here is being horrible, like someone else has said it is GUTTING to lose lots of weight really quickly only to pile it on plus some…
