I have a daughter who lives in Orange Park, and might be interested in having a workout buddy. If she is would you like her to contact you?

If you are in Atlantic Beach Florida and would like to walk, jog or roller blade, give me a holler. I am looking for support to keep moving. Staying motivated is easier when you are working with someone.

Good luck. I wish I lived near you. I need a Workout Buddy too. I posted for Atlantic Beach Florida but no one answered. It is much easier to get motivated if someone is counting on you to be there for them. :ohwell:

Thanks for the encouragement all. I will keep on moving no matter how small the movement. And, a good whoop up side the head might do him some good.

When I feel like being a couch potato, I have 3 lb weights that I pick up and use for various arm exercises. My husband said I am wasting my time because this is not enough weight nor is it good muscle strengthen exercise. What do you all say? Am I wasting my time?

I have a question about making your body release calories instead of storing them away. If you eat something small and easy to digest as you work out, such as bringing a banana along on a bike ride or rollerblading, and munching on it or some nuts as you go along your route, would your body be more likely to use more…

I am at a stand still also. I lost 10 lb before i joined this site. I then lost 3 more, gained 4 back, and lost 2. What a drag. I play tennis singles and doubles 1 or 2 days a week and roller blade 1 or 2 days a week. Both these activities burn lots of calories. If burning 3500 calories more than you eat equals 1 lb lost…

Mopping the floor or pushing your vacuum cleaner burns calories. List them on your exercise list. I found that a 140 lb person burns 223 calories each hour mopping floors or vacuuming. There are many web sites to give this info for any activity.

We are a world of instante gradification, but that is short lived. Hang in there. You will drop the pounds. I too have had the same problem. I weigh myself daily and sometimes twice a day. I find that I weigh less when I come home from work than when I get up in the morning, so that is the time I weigh every day. Everyone…

Running burns a little more, but roller bladding burns 3 times as many and is easier and more fun. Also elliptical trainer burns more per hour than walking and running. I have heard that you burn more fat if you stay withing a target heart rate for your size.

I can not get down and stay down. I have lost 8 to 10 lb, but keep going from 150 to 152 day after day. I eat 1200 calories a day and exercise 3 days a week. Some how I just can not get to 150 and stay there. I don't want to drop down to less than 1200 calories. I eat good food not junk. I am on the high side for carbs and…
