  • thank you very much, much appreciated
  • thanks I have been looking at google all day for a beginners split routine that would suit what I need and the equipment i have access to and couldnt find what I was looking for so I decided to go with finding a source for individual exercises and putting them together myself. Like I said I have experience I just need a…
  • my last golden retriever litter was the Doctor Who litter, all the pups registered names are after Doctor Who... my puppy in my profile picture is officially Milbrose Allons-Y which drew me to your post ... so as Prof. Riversong would say "Hello Sweetie"
  • also remember there is a difference between calories burned during exercise and calories burned by exercise... you really only want to count the calories burned by exercise... the hrm is the way to go if you want an accurate count as to what you burned... for me personally it doesn't matter as I seldom eat hardly any of my…
  • I tried weight watchers and was very successful on the old plan... then they changed plans in the middle and it no longer worked for me... I tried it again this past summer and again the new plan did not work for me at all... the fact is that bananas and fruit both have calories
  • there is a difference between calories burned during and calories burned by exercise. My fitness plan seems to combine these two and as such vastly over estimates the amount of calories burned. There is a website called scooby's workshop that has a pretty good calorie estimator and a good explanation of the calories burned…

  • I think the ticker was on the list of things that won't work right away but I could be wrong
  • I usually eat the same breakfast 2 eggs and 2 slices of high fiber toast with butter spray = 280 I have also been eating lately if I am in a hurry 1 banana 1 regular yogurt (I despise greek yogurt) 1 hardboiled egg 240 calories and again it is filling
  • digital scales are not that expensive. I bought one for $30 bucks from amazon a few years back. I bought it to weigh puppies, now I use it to weigh food. it does tare and is a really nice scale and not killer expensive at all
  • In weight watchers (which their new plan did not work for me at all and that is why I joined here), you are accountable to other people. You go and weigh in etc. I find that when I do my best is when I have my head set that this is something I need to do for me. I am accountable to me and me alone. I do think that the…
  • I have 8 dogs.... that I absolutely adore and I would never allow them to harass a person. I may know that my dogs are harmless to me but they are animals and you never know what they will do to someone or something that they don't know. If my dogs got out of our fence (we have a double fence) and harassed a jogger and got…
  • I eat whatever I want as long as I stay within my calorie allotment for the day. It is nice because I don't feel at all deprived, my husband I eat the same meals, just different portion sizes and its great. Oh yeah, I do eat carbs.
  • I eat 1200 a day .... on the days I workout I still eat 1200 on the days that I don't work out I stick to the 1200. I seldom eat back my calories. On the days I do go over I never go over 1300. I think it is all in how you eat and what you choose. I tend to eat real foods .... I don't typically eat any "diet" foods other…
  • I am a bit neurotic (ok a lot) and I weigh every morning as soon as I get up. I also log whenever I have a loss. This means for me that there are times i am logging my weight 3-4 times a week... that is just me... it is neurotic I know but it works for me.
  • I agree with the above. I am 48 and I find that counting calories works best for me, it is how I have lost in the past and am losing now. I personally do not believe in "fad" diets, losing is all about basic math. I also don't feel at all deprived even on my 1200 cals a day. I also exercise 3-5 days a week for 90 minutes…
  • I agree pick one scale and use that .... it is very easy to play "scale games" and trick yourself, I would find one scale that you are going to weigh in on, put it in one place and only get on that scale.... and congrats on your 10lbs that is a great start.
  • likes lots of new CV equipment clean nice people towel service lots of various classes weight room is organized and kept after (people do rerack) are attentive to member issues dislikes expensive and we subsidize all the people with a million kids not open Sundays in the summer only after school starts in the fall make…

  • I havent dealt with my nasty, manipulative, abusive, mean parents in twenty years. It took a long time for me to get to the point where I decided that the relationship was not good for me and never had been. 22 is pretty young and I was quite a bit older than you when I was really able to make that decision. I will just…
  • love love love avocados ....
  • dinner, spinach mushroom and cheese omelette made with eggs from my ladies
  • my 6' tall 175 lb husband eats what I eat and cook. While he might eat more and eat full fat salad dressing, real butter etc, it doesn't hurt for him to eat healthier either. Often he will have desert where I won't... If you are eating healthy it wouldn't hurt for your family to do the same... this is not to say that…
  • Idris Elba Liam Neeson David Tennant
  • I can't have a scale that does that .... it would make me crazy. I bought a good Tanita scale that I have had for years now and no matter how many times I get on and off of it it reads hte same (and trust me I have tried) I would make sure you aren't touch a wall and are standing still, replace the batteries... and if not…
  • I totally get what you are saying and often find myself in that 1000 calorie range as well. I am eating so differently than I used to that just by sheer virtue of cooking differently and buying different foods and honestly cutting the crap out I am often low in my calorie intake... soooo You could add in nuts which are…
  • Congrats to all of you for quitting smoking. I have never smoked but understand that it is one of the hardest things to do ... good for you for making such a tough change. You should all be very proud of yourselves.
