  • Nothing makes me feel full...I'm always hungry knowing I only have 1200 calories...LOL
  • Yep...to all of the above...I usually will indulge in a bubble bath if I can or wear that one 'go to' outfit..that makes me feel good about myself even when I have a bad day. Hugging the dog helps too...he loves the way I look!
  • I'm in! 5'2" SW: 131 GW: 120 GW for this challenge: 126 I can do this.
  • Yep. what ya'll said! I am losing the 'belly' (it takes on a life of it's own)....slowly.....I've always had a tiny pooch anyway...but it got a little too much at one point. Now I just do the best I can.
  • Yep. Paul Mitchell is a great product line. Look for sulfate free products too, a lot less harsh than a regular shampoo.
  • Great suggestions everyone. I've also found that doing the plank challenge, a different and more difficult version of the plank each day for 30 days...really helped. No, my little belly is still there but my posture is better and my core is stronger which makes me stand up straighter. It's illusion..LOL..but I'll take it.
  • Vivmom2014..I agree. There are some parts of menopause that are true...but on the whole, it's not much different than before. The one thing I've noticed is that this is the first time in my life I have had to lose weight, but I don't think it's all menopause....it's just lifestyle. I have had no problem losing the weight…
  • I agree with Katkins3...experiment with different ranges and amounts of exercise. I find that there are weeks where I will eat 1200 per day and NOT lose...and weeks where I eat more and lose.
  • I did the same thing..kept on eating well, but kept away from recording it and being so obsessed. By chilling out, but keeping up the good stuff...I lost 3 pounds in 2 weeks.
  • I love this post. I agree with you 100%. I DON"T want to look the same as I did at 35. Although I looked fantastic, I am not 35 any more! The idea of looking like an 'older me' suits me fine! Still looking good!
  • I just shopped in my closet...I was so sick of wearing the same 3 things every day to work...well now EVERYTHING except one or two items fits...!!! I threw away the 'fat' stuff...never again will I wear them. And I still am not at my goal!!
  • I felt that way for a long time...it was more work than it was worth, nothing was happening, I looked and felt the same....then on Sunday I just decided to finally get rid of all my 'skinny' clothes, feeling like I was never going to fit into them, just give up. Well guess what? I FIT INTO ALMOST ALL OF THEM!…
  • I don't care to work out either, in the traditional sense. I enjoy biking, hiking, walking and dancing...so I tend to lean towards those activities. I do weight train, although probably NOT as much as I should.
  • It is what it is. We live in an ageist society. Just keep on doing what you are doing. Pretty soon folks will want to work out with you because you are doing so well. I have issues finding workout partners, dates...even friends! LOL....get used to it.
  • I am single with no kids..and although I agree, the 50's can be the best times of our lives...I don't feel that way about my life. Although I look great, feel great and can do whatever I would like, I am living in an ageist society here in San Diego. I am pretty much ignored by men and don't like that at all!!
  • I am in the same boat...a little older, 54, but 5'2" and around 135. Never had to 'diet' until my late 40's and darn it's a culture shock. I was about 120 - 125 forever (I'm curvy) and I'm hoping to get a little closer to that weight. you are not alone.
  • I'm on the last 10 now! I was struggling...and the scale wasn't moving..up or down so I decided to just back off for a few days. Didn't log on for a week, but kept an eye on what I ate and continued to work out. Haven't weighed in for 2.5 weeks. Now I'm back, relaxed and 3 pounds lighter! I think, at least in my situation,…
  • Planks and core work. Helps you stand up taller and stronger mid-section
  • Makes perfect sense Frogs777...I have always had a dog, walked at least 20 minutes twice a day for years...out of necessity!! I also live near the beach so I can walk there and park far away from the building at work, so walking (at least!) is built in. I can see the need/want for others though.

  • I'm on the fence about this...as I have friends who have fitbits and they are OBSESSED with steps, calories, etc. etc. I like to relax .. and I'm not a techie.

  • LOL..that show is FUNNY
  • Yep. I agree with you Gigi.......
  • Bisquits and gravy. Seriously...I crave guy food.
  • It's better to use free weights at the gym also. I agree, the machines 'trick you"
  • Exactly. I am upping my exercise and eating a little more. I've also tried eating my exercise calories one day, not eating the next. The only way I'll stick to something is if there is variety. That's just me though.
  • This is the best statement and example I've read in a while. I think that's the key. People who have always been thin don't understand the struggle of overweight folks and of course the opposite as well. Those who have always been overweight don't understand the mindset of the thin person. I've only had to lose weight once…
  • Yep. Its a bit better in Colorado where I used to live..but even with sidewalks, I NEVER wanted to run or walk in the winter..LOL. Treadmill is BORING. Cross country skiing is great! It's enough to keep you warm and you can appreciate the pretty scenery.
  • I am 5'2" and currently 137. I find 1200 calories is ok, because it doesn't matter to me if I go to 14 one day and 1100 another. I've been consistently losing 1 - 1.5 pounds per week. It's a guideline .
