  • I am going through, basically, the same issue. I have 2 family members using HCG and they are loosing weight like there is no tomorrow. I am telling them they are loosing weight not due to the HCG, but to the sub-800 calorie a day they are eating. Their answer is that the HCG is simply keeping their hunger away. I also…
  • Can you do an elliptical? They barely put any strain on your joints since it's a constant motion. I stopped using our treadmill and bought an elliptical; best thing I ever did. Knees and back no longer hurts due to walking/jogging/running for a length of time. Before you buy one, join a gym and use it for a while; it is…
  • It is awesome if you stick to it. Drink water, count it in the app. Eat anything, scan it, add it to the app. If you account for everything you put into your body via your mouth onto the app/website, you will learn quickly what you can eat and what you can't. You'll see the calories, cholesterol, fat, protein, sugars,…
  • It's an estimate. Are you eating your exercise calories? You shouldn't do that. Eat your allotted calories for food, but not your exercise calories.
  • Want to get a life insurance policy to better protect my family and the difference in price was ridiculous; about a $50 difference a month for being the weight that I was and the weight that I need to be. I am going back to High School skinny; Freshmen year. So that will be a total of 61 lbs that I have to loose to achieve…
  • Welcome! And don't forget, that if you cheat on entering information to your site/phone app, then the site wont help much. Also, don't rely on simply the site will help, you have put 100% on your side also! Also, this diet is about learning to eat; a life changing experience. It is about counting your calories and making…
  • I'll tell you that I had to get rid of 62 lbs when I started April 5, 2011. In 1 month I lost over 20 lbs. It has taken me 3 months to loose 23 lbs. It took me 23 yrs to get to the weight that I have been for a long time. Now I look forward to being High School skinny; to be exact, Freshman High School skinny. I am at my…
  • A woman at 5'8" and 110lbs is probably not only underweight, is probably not very attractive either. As men, we want some meat on the bones, not just bones. Just saying. Good luck!
  • Have to agree. The best investment is a digital scale. Once you measure/weight your food for about a month, you get to learn and you can do it without the scale +/- pretty close. So, the dieting becomes a lifestyle and you can even go to restaurants and see if they are serving you too much so you really don't break the…
  • This is directly from their website: "Thank you for your interest in Carrabba’s. We currently do not have nutritional information on our menu items, however many of our guests have special dietary needs. Since most of our dishes are prepared to order we are able to accommodate many special requests. Please make your server…
  • I have an app for my Android phone called 'Restaurant Nutrition' by Unified Lifestyle; it is free. It has a list of quizillion restaurants and it does have Carrabba's. I am not sure if it is available for iPhone, Blackberry or Windows. That is what I use for when I am at a restaurant. In fact, many times I have looked it…
  • Don't eat the calories you burned. You'll see the benefits tomorrow on the weight loss. Eat if you are hungry, but don't eat your burned calories! Good Luck!
  • That is amazing!! Keep up the good work and as you can see, it is paying off.
  • Agreed! All the cholesterol addition to your body for what, a diet? And as soon as you stop it or you eat carbs your body balloons again. Good luck!

  • I bought my Heart Rate Monitor with chest strap at Walmart for $48+tax. Sportline SX is very easy to use and it will count all the calories burned, plus has alarm to maintain your workout at the burning zone you select; for example FAT BURNING ZONE, which is between 65% and 75%. It works great. I bought 2 of them; one for…
  • Make sure you do a regular day; no workout or nothing extra ordinary. That way you can set CUSTOM your daily calories burned and it will help better determine your daily consumption of food and exercise needed. Good luck!

  • I wear mine ONLY on my workouts. Sure, you could use it all day to see how much you burn throughout the day to get a more exact how your body works as far as how many beat per minute is your heart at all times. But it is mainly for workouts, so you see how much you burned on that specific workout.

  • Make sure you get one with a chest strap. The first one I bought didn't have one, it was a runners HRM not a workout HRM, and I ended up returning it. I didn't know the difference until I got here on MFP and asked ? and got guided.

  • Get an HRM that has a chest strap. Set your HRM with your gender, age, height and weight. Set it up to FAT BURN ZONE, which is between 65% and 75%. Do your aerobic workout within that range for as long as you are going to work out so you burn the most amount of calories. I have mine setup at 65% to 75%. I can either walk…

  • That's a hell of an accomplishment. Way to go! Continue on working hard. See, it CAN be done!!
  • Think about it. Water is clean, water has no additives. So, other than fruit juices 100%, not from concentrate, will have tons of additives and process junk that will make your liver and kidneys work extra hard. So, do you really think that Diet Coke is good for the body? All that carbonation and fake flavors? I am not…
  • If you really want to know how many calories you are burning, get yourself a $48 Heart Rate Monitor from WalMart, or some other stores (that's just where I bought my wife's and mine), and it will compute for you how many calories you are burning due to your heart rate. We bought the SportLine SX with the chest strap. Works…
  • Subway Muffin Forrest Ham, egg white only, a little bit of shredded cheese, onions, green peppers, a touch of pepper, melted, and followed it with 16 oz of water and Omega 3-6-9 softgel (trying to lower my chol) = 163 calories for the muffin and 15 for the Omega 3-6-9 and 2 cups of water.
  • I use my elliptical and treadmill for all my cardio exercise. I have no excuse to get on them, turn on the TV and do cardio for 1 hour. The trick is being consistent. I bought a Heart Rate Monitor (HRM) with a chest strap, and set it up for fat burning zone, which is 65% to 75%. I stay constant between 72% and 75%, where…
  • I use the MapMyRide for my Android. http://www.mapmyride.com/ I tried bunch of the free ones before deciding with this one; including Cardio Trainer. Thought MapMyRide had more features. And who can beat FREE.
  • The calories burn is just a guess-timate.. as the iPhone has no way of knowing how your heart rate is operating..
  • The app I use, iMapMyRide, calculates MPH (speed), fully gps maps your trail, and distance, time that you are walking and time that you are idling. The HRM that I use calculates calories burned, of course, heart rate, HR Zone, alarm for when you are out of the zone you selected. So no, the HRM doesn't have the ability to…
  • Or simply get a Heart Rate Monitor with chest strap.. I bought mine at WalMart for $48.71 it's a Sportline SX and you can track calories burned and many other things.
  • Do you have an Android, iPhone or Blackberry phone? Or an iPod touch? You could download apps that will track your walking distance, speed, etc. I do that every time we go to the Disney World parks with my kids, which is just about every other week since I live in Orlando, FL, and that way I keep track on my Android phone.…
