I think it depends on how much muscle you have. I'm 37, currently overweight (5'8", 195 lbs) and losing on 2400-2500 cals, with maintenance being around ~3000. This is with working out 5x a week...if I work out less, I lose on ~2300. Obviously, the fact that I'm taller and weigh more helps but I've lost/regained weight…

Great thread...posting so I can find this later

Her body is SICK! I can never achieve that level of fitness -- love my sweets too much to eat as strictly as a physique like that demands -- but if I can be a tenth as fit as she is, I'll be happy. I don't know why I don't follow her already...I stalk her IG often enough, lol!

That looks good!!!

Day 3 -- Half of this glorious treat: A Girl Scout Peanut Butter Cookie cupcake from Crumbs...vanilla cupcake filled AND topped peanut butter buttercream frosting and sprinkled with peanut butter chips. Heaven.

*gasp* Who are these Lemon Oreo haters? Lemon Oreos are awesome...and I'm not even a lemon lover!

Haha! We gotta appreciate the little (or large) things! :-)

So many great stories on here but these were especially humbling and inspiring to me. I cannot imagine going through what you guys have and coming through whole. All of you are amazing!

I am thankful that my 7-year relationship with my ex dissolved nearly two years ago. I thought he was the love of my life but looking back now, I can see that I was very unhappy in the relationship but too scared to let go. After things between us fell apart, I began working on myself and sought treatment for my anxiety…

I love you all so much!

You rang? :-) I definitely fit into that category as I am female, lift heavy (deadlift 195 lbs, squat 200 lbs, bench 95 lbs) and enjoy eating (~2300 calories daily). I sent you a friend request!

I ate a dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts once. I got two dozen for free and would have eaten more but I had to share with a friend. It was one of the happiest days of my life....minus the sharing and all. OP....thanks for taking me back to those glory days and inspiring so much greatness in others (more bacon doughnut…

LOL at "saucy *kitten* crumpet"! I'm Team USA but originally from Nigeria and I have to say, on occasion, American accents kind of sound like that to me too. Thanks for introducing me to this Oatmeal character....loving his comics!

I agree with this. I've never done a bulk but it makes sense that after a long time of losing weight it will be a significant mental struggle to switch gears and actively try to gain weight. I'm sure you can't help but keep viewing things through a "weight loss lens" where gaining weight is a bad thing even though you're…

Also wanted to mention...a good site for viewing what people your height look at different weights is mybodygallery.com

I'm 5'8" on the nose, currently hovering between 170 and 172 lbs and my goal is to get into the 150-155 lb range. I was in that weight range from my late teens to mid 20s and it's where I feel I look the best. And I'm a size 6 at that weight (body fat % is ~27% currently) which is good enough for me.
-
Me, me! I probably eat under 2000 calories like five days a year, when I'm sick or wake up too late to cram in all the good eats. Most of the time I'm in the 2300 to 2500 calorie range with the occasional 3000+ calorie day. I lose weight when I stick to the lower calorie range which is hard for me because I love to eat!

That's interesting...so what would you suggest I do? I don't think I could put in two minutes of near max effort during HIIT or regular intervals to get my heart rate up. When I try to do so it feels like my body gets tired way before my heart even starts to feel the effort.

I thought that as well but it's a little disheartening because I used to be able to get my HR high enough. I've used a HR monitor for nearly 10 years now and I guess at this point I need/want the number on the monitor to validate my efforts, dammit! But yeah, maybe it's time to shift my focus.
-
Oooh,. Talk about slow! Went right over my head, obviously...guess my brain is not at its sharpest in the morning! Thanks for translating. :flowerforyou:

I adjust my info on the HR monitor every time there's a change to my weight. I also periodically run the "fitness test" option on the monitor, which assesses my HR during a gradual increase in activity and adjusts my HR zones based on the new information.

Explain, please.

In for creepy friends...could use the entertainment!

Agreed. I've never understood why people are afraid to consume fruit because of its sugar content. Who cares? It has lots of fiber, vitamins and other nutrients and really, like the above poster said, I doubt any of us here gained weight from an overabundance of fruit in our diets. It just seems ridiculous to me that…

This is a big one for me. I treat my anxiety and depression in other ways but exercise helps in a major way. I definitely notice negative mood changes if I don't work out for a few days in a row. That said, I also work out to look even hotter, blow off steam, boost stamina and endurance for hiking, running, cycling and…

Long time lifter here, always open to more female lifting buds. Add me if you or anyone else likes!

All of this. I'm madly in love with the London production (listen to it at least once daily) but in strong like with the Broadway one. Also Bye, Bye Birdie.

I don't think it's as bad as the soda because like you said, it results in you drinking more water than you otherwise would have. I wouldn't worry about it since it's only a few times a week.
