  • My father used the Medifast (it was called Optifast when he used I think) several times. He always gained the weight back when he went back to eating regular food. He always felt really good while he was on it however, and had a lot of energy and in generally a good mood. So it seems healthy as long as you can learn to…
  • Agree, I was a soda addict at one point. I had to quit cold turkey for awhile in order to get a grip on it. It's a very cleverly crafted cocktail that screws with your taste buds and brain. I had to get used to quenching my thirst with something other than soda. I also had to get used to the taste of food without a soda to…
  • When you are in the food diary, click on Settings button in the submenu below the main menu. In there you'll see some additional
  • My enzymes are screwed then because I drink so much water with a meal I need my own carafe.
  • I'm sure the IPS chips are healthier, but the Special K cracker chips scratch the itch better, for me at least.

  • Venting I'm sure - everybody should do it from time to time. They are ok. Chips and salty snacks are my big weakness and I wouldn't put them in the same class as regular potato chips. Good in a pinch tho. I actually prefer the Special K cracker chips.

  • We have to put up with you women. :flowerforyou:
  • Fitbit Aria wireless syncs to their site and you can sync that to myfitnesspal. I love it.
  • Yeah whenever I think all of this is not worth it, I pick up the weight I lost and carry it around for a bit. If you're like me and you have lost a lot of weight already and still have a good amount to go it's great motivation. Also, crazy as it sounds, whenever I'm getting weak, I read these forums (which is a lot heh).…
  • This thread is so long not sure if anybody will read this but figured I'd share. My father went on Optifast several times. Each time he gained the weight back after going off the program. He felt great while he was on it, and like others have said, he got used to not eating real food after a few days. Having seen it in…
  • I'll eat that s*** straight outta the box.
  • Probably won't get much love for the meal replacement shakes on these forums. If you're in it for the long haul, there's no need to jump start your diet. Take it slow and steady, make changes that you can live with for life. Instead of shakes, maybe try something like quest bars or just bring some fruit for snacks?
  • Here's a story: http://www.fda.gov/forconsumers/consumerupdates/ucm152152.htm I'm sure the new formula is much better though.
  • I drink green tea mixed with lemon, cayenne pepper and apple cider vinegar while snacking on green coffee beans. It's the equivalent of doing hours of cardio.
  • I have psoriasis so I'll never really be fully comfortable in my skin. I did use that as an excuse to say "f*** it, just eat and be happy that way". I was fairly healthy up to about 10 years ago and it was a slow decline to my heaviest of 314. I felt terrible, no energy and doing simple things like tying shoes was getting…
  • I have to admit that I'm not going to worry about it too much. I'll bring some healthy snacks, but my eating schedule tends to revolve around the events. Hard to stick with my normal routine and it's a vacation, nice to take a break from the daily grind. You can't really do too much damage unless you just go totally nuts.…

  • It's tough when NOBODY you know counts the same way. If it wasn't for being able to read these forums, there's no way I would have stuck with it.
  • Hi! Do you recognize this tub of crap? That's me, three-and-a-half weeks ago! Since then, I've lost 155 pounds! Yes, you heard me right! I lost 155 pounds in less than three weeks! How did I lose all that gross fat? By combining the miracle of technology with ordinary street junkies! Producing this: Jimmy Tango's Fat…
  • The details of my life are inconsequential... very well, where do I begin? 40 years old, been playing various forms of games longer than I can remember. Probably started with games of chess and old Avalon Hill games like Diplomacy and Dune with my dad. My first computer games were on a TRASH-80, loaded from magnetic tape,…

  • What if you don't go to bed until 2am?
  • Sounds like you need a cleanse... just kidding
  • I disagree that he believes in what he's selling and that he's an "empty head". He knows precisely what he is doing. Of course he's going to defend his show and say he believes in it. Any good salesman would. He's cashing in on the diet industry, plain and simple.
  • I bet they have room for a wafer thin mint... just a tiny little thin one.
  • Did you read the sticky threads on this forum? They pretty much have all the info you need.
  • I'm sure we've all heard "Clean your plate, or no desert!" In hindsight, how bad was that golden rule of parenting?! :) I'm in the same boat. Especially when eating out, you're paying for it, it tastes good, why waste it? It's just a daily struggle to do the right thing. I feel better when I don't eat as much, so I try to…
  • It seems to me that Medifast is a better option for people who actually don't want to exercise. Since you love it, you've got one of the "hard parts" already taken care of. Besides, are you going to be on Medifast forever? Why not take the time now to learn how to eat properly. You have to do that one day regardless, so if…
  • Unless physics can help me eat french fries with every meal and still lose weight, I fail to see how it's not a waste of time.
  • Lose 5 pounds for $20.14 a day. I think most of that weight lost will be from your wallet!

  • This helps me too. Eat slow, drink a lot of water with your food.
