Holy moley......well folks as I stated, this was my opinion, not advice. Didn't expect to get picked apart for it but whatever. btw, i'm well aware that quinoa isn't a grain Jane. This Paleo thing has been the only thing in the last three years that has worked. All the vegetarian, low cal, high carb, low fat and not one…

1) I have no idea what my doctor was basing his opinion on, it was a casual conversation but I suppose he based it on his medical knowledge. He did mention that processed foods and crop grains were not what our ancient ancestors were living/filling their diet with, and that corn oil/syrup in particular has done nothing but…

IMHO Paleo is the way we are meant to eat (backed up by my doctor). It's also a lifestyle, not a diet. Plenty of moderate cardio, lifting heavy things and as organic as possible on the food. I can only judge from my results.....ulcerative colitis GONE, acid reflux GONE, blood results termed 'perfect' at the last check up.…

My ex husband used to do the same thing to me! (note his status is EX). He was overweight as well.....I just have to conclude he was sabotaging my efforts. Nip this in the bud now....it borders on cruelty.

Gotta love that reply! ^^^

Hang in there...the carb crave wave will subside in a day or two more. It is SO worth it!

I used to agree about giving the older generation a pass until the day a senior did it to me in such a blatant way that the person BEHIND me said something....old lady just grinned like a Cheshire cat. Couldn't help myself, had to refer to the fact that obviously her time was more important than mine, especially since…

Zip Lining....face planted into 3' wide pine tree 40' up. Scarred forehead, bruised everywhere lucky to be alive. Can't wait to do zip again idiot that I am lol.

10 months paleo for me. Ulcerative Colitis & Acid Reflux....absolutely GONE after 2 months on Paleo lifestyle. Just had colonoscopy yesterday, doctor said my colon is now perfectly healthy. 42 lbs down, 'perfect' blood results, tons of energy. Haven't found Paleo limiting at all, there are tons of websites with billions of…

Could be a problem if it lasts and the age difference starts differering energy levels.

Back in my day us caused mischief by throwing rocks at the Woolly Mammoth and lighting our smokes by rubbing sticks together.

Congrats! You must feel so proud... as you should be. Your 2nd small thing that you've done is for me.... inspiration to keep busting my butt for my goal. Cheers!

Just remembered another.... and it's all on me... happened today.....ipod ran out of juice with 3 machines and 1/2 hour of cardio to go..... absolute hell. :(

Walked 100 miles in your shoes, i really feel for you! Too many tears shed. I was consistant and sweated buckets at the gym for three years....nothing. Then i found Paleo....20 lb down and still losing in 7 weeks. Check it out, not for everyone but its the only thing that has worked mind, body and soul. Ps-it helps…

50% fat, 35% protein, 15% carb here. A good gauge is to calculate your lean body mass and multiply that number by the protein grams... usually between .8-2 grams per pound of lean body mass. If you're crushing it in the gym everyday and have little to no body fat then 2 grams. If you're light or moderate on exercise 1-1.5…

Do I feel for you and anyone dealing with disease and steroids. Been there, done that and thankfully no more steroids (crossing fingers on that one). I remember well the almost manic type hunger I felt when on them *telling my son..." and bring back a box of donuts and a large pizza when you come home!!" I am however still…

LOL don't I wish there were absolutely no calcs involved... eat freely... what a dream! Yup, meant sugars aren't a big complicated thing if white/corn was banned from the diet. Sorry for the confusion, my bad!
-
By 'healthy diet' I meant healthy and within maintenance level calories.
-
Ban white and corn sugars from your diet....the rest will fall into place with a healthy diet...no calculations involved...easy peasy.
-
Started in february (paleo) 20 lbs down so far, you're going to love the results this journey brings....i'm in, add me!
-
Record EVERY morsel.... and hang in, still too early to judge the loss. Stay true to your goal and results WILL happen.
