Why are people so nice on this forum?
Most of us have actual pictures of ourselves, and in any other community I've ever posted, you get grilled unmercifully when you try to present your real self or put yourself out there for public display.
We can ask stupid questions here without getting personally attacked. This is a refreshing difference from most message boards I've ever posted on.
There's so little bullying here... It's crazy. Don't know if it's moderators or the "niceness" of the community itself, but I've never posted on a community that doesn't bully members who don't agree with forum consensus. This is a really free community to express one's opinions on health/fitness.
There's WAY fewer "keyboard warriors" or people hiding behind the internet on this forum. Lots of real people.
This place is SO tolerant of newbies. Same question over and over? Sigh, but we keep answering so people feel welcome and assimilate into the community.
Seriously, this place is the kiddie pool of internet forums. Great job all who have contributed to making this place what it is.
(absolutely no sarcasm here, seriously, try another board if you think anything you complain about on this board is better elsewhere.)

MFP...where the F stands for Feelz!5

This is all true.
Which is why the mean people threads are so ironic and entertaining.5 -
When people do complain about people being mean here and whatnot, I often wonder if they've ever been on any other internet forum. Yeah, there's some sarcasm and eye-rolling and whatnot that goes on here with some things...and plenty of semantic arguments...but yeah, this place is pretty damned tame.6

I agree with John here. I'm John too -- see, we're off to a good start already. LOL. But, yes, very nice people here. Weird since it's online. The support has been great. I've posted on unrelated forums and the people were so rude and merciless. You get what you sign up for, I guess...2

It's like, if you are going to Trust Fall into the arms of anyone on the Internet, choose someone from MFP. (Their arms are stronger.)2

Members of this forum are generally really nice but i must admit when people post the 'rate the person above' type threads I can't help but think people over or under estimate the ratings. I've noticed that a few good looking people (my opinion) get rated down where the less attractive people (again my opinion) get rated up. Let's just be honest0

that's all down to personal preference though at the end of the day isn't it?0 -
I agree but in some cases it seems that people aren't being honest. I noticed quite a good looking guy got rated really low on a number of occasions the other day and yet less attractive people got rated a lot higher. It is preference but there's no balance1
