  • Also check thugkitchen.com. All their recipes are vegetarian and pretty easy to make. The language is a bit rough on the site so beware if potty words are offensive. I've made several of the recipes and they are pretty good.
  • 1/2 C frozen blueberries 1 C frozen mixed fruit 1/2 C plain Greek yogurt 1 scoop unflavored protein powder 1 tbsp chia seeds 1/2 C cooked cold oatmeal 2 tsp Truvia (I like sweet stuff) 1/2 C water I put everything but the water in a tall stainless steel milkshake cup at night before I go to bed and mix it in the morning…
  • Lots of good advice so far. In addition to much that has been mentioned, I will sometimes go to the Community tab and search their user name to see if they are active on the boards. If they are it's a good way to see what type of posts they leave. I've avoided a few kooks that way.
  • I had to move the seat forward a bit in a car I haven't driven in over a year. I was 70lbs thicker and sat farther forward in the seat the last time I drove this car.
  • Another thought if your parents don't already own one is decent rice cooker. You have to be a little careful with the calories and carbs but you can make a lot of really simple, really tasty rice dishes for very cheap. You can cook lots of things in a rice cooker especially if you get one with a slow-cooker function. We…
  • Lots of good advice already. I know the sodium is a bit high if you use the entire season packet but you can hack ramen noodles for a really cheap an reasonably healthy meal. Add leftover chicken or beef, frozen mixed veggies stir-fried fresh veggies, serve them cold on a salad with mandarin orange slices. At the Winco…
  • I had to take over cooking for the family a few years ago with very little knowledge and experience. My first go-to resource was kraftrecipes.com. Lots of simple and easy to follow recipes and lots of helpful videos too. I still use many recipes from that site. Lately I've been making some very tasty and easy recipes off…
  • Lots of options with wraps and burritos. Easy and fast to make. Easy to adjust to your dietary needs and likes. Little or no cooking required. Just need to find a wrap that meets or comes close to meeting your definition of clean eating. We are a very busy family with very little time to cook so our rice cooker is one of…
  • Second nod to Rubber... Hypnotically terrible
  • I have a smoothie very similar to yours every morning. I add a 1/2 cup of cold cooked oats to it to give it some body and get a bit of oats into my diet. I also add a scoop of unflavored protein powder to help get a little more protein. I make a pot of oatmeal on Sunday and use it throughout the week.
  • I'm not entirely sure. I sleep when I'm tired and I'm awake when I'm not. Been this way for 20+ years, go figure.
  • 3hrs avg, 5hrs max, 2hrs common, naps when I can.
  • I got a lot of ideas when I was starting out from this MFP thread... http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1428309/what-can-calisthenics-do-for-you-let-me-show-you/p1 The girl that originally posted it had some wonderful before and after pics but she has since pulled them down. A lot of good info and links still…
  • Yep... can't go wrong with Panda: beef and broccoli. Sub veggies for rice if you need to or if you're like me just like lots of veggies. We have a place called Pholicious, very tasty GIANT bowl of soup with very low calories.
  • I use a Zip and love it. I can't wear anything on my wrist at work so the Zip works well. I'm only interested in steps taken during the day so the Zip was perfect for me. It's simple, syncs easily, works great and I really like the fitbit dashboard interface. I think it is a great way to be aware of your daily movement and…
  • CICO is at the heart of it but food prep has made the biggest difference for me. If I didn't spend the time that I do shopping and prepping my breakfast and lunches ahead of time I would be trying to maintain a calorie deficit while eating fast food everyday. That's kinda how I ended up here in the first place.
  • A lot of good advice in that post and the others too... thank you for sharing. I'm about to start maintenance and certainly do not want to undo all the work I've been doing. It's good that people take the time to share their experiences. It helps a lot.
  • Try some of the recipes on Thug Kitchen (parental guidance is suggested). I prefer raw veggies but a lot of their cooked recipes are pretty good.
  • Interesting article. Thank you for posting it. I am curious about the outcome of further testing.
  • Op, props for reading and doing reasearch on your health. Try to find multiple sources and don't take everything at face value. There is a lot of mis-information out there and it's not easy to know what is good and bad information.
  • If eating broccoli every day is wrong, I don't wanna be right. I eat broccoli every day either whole or in the form of a slaw. Broccoli slaw tastes awesome with dried cranberries and makes a great stir-fry base. The article does not say broccoli is bad only that it may not have as much vitamin A as previously thought.…
  • If I have the time, I re-heat the Sabtoasso's pizza we buy in a skillet on the stove. Crispies the crust just like it first came out of the oven.
  • I am similar. I almost always have the same smoothie for breakfast, lunch changes around slightly but always with the same veggie mix. My snacks don't change much either. I don't know if it is a great idea or not but I like it, it works for me and I can't think of reason to stop.
  • Yep. The breakroom table at work is my go-to drop off for treats that need to be adopted. They can eat them, toss them or take them home I don't care. Take a few if you trust yourself otherwise drop off the whole lot. Do whatever works best for you. ... Also no laughing at weight loss, -1 point for dad.
  • You're about to start your period aren't you, I can tell. (or any version of that)
  • Is someone getting a visit from aunt flo?
  • It is a bit like hearding cats. For a long time I pretty much ignored everything except calories. I found out after my yearly physical that my overall cholestrol was too low. Doc said it could be an early sign of malnutrition. Oops. I've since started paying a little more attention to my other nutrient intakes and watching…
  • This mentor has adopted several noobs and is no longer available. Thanks! Over the past ten months MFP has given me the support and knowledge I've needed to become a healthier more confident person. I've met great new friends, shared successes and setbacks and had a lot of fun along the way. I think it is time I returned…
