My general rule these days is that if I was doing the task while I gained the weight then I don't log the task while trying to lose the weight. That may just be me though.

Stronglifts or starting strength are my favorite beginner lifting programs. Take a google gander at them and they will keep you rolling along nicely for a good while.

Simple advise for lifting with a hernia. Don't! I know that may be hard to hear, but you are injured. Lifting will exacerbate this. Get it fixed take care of yourself and then lift afterword.

The first thing I notice about your routine is that there is no lower body coverage. Especially considering that the The glutes and legs make up the largest muscle groups in your body you get huge bang for your buck by working them. Exactly this. Even after lifting for many weeks I find that if I have a really intense session I will be several pounds heavier for a day or so. It is all fluid though and will dissipate.
