  • If they (your doctors) get whiny about LDL make them check for the cholesterol particle size. If you mostly have the big fluffy ones nothing to worry about. Also you can ask after how much of the cholesterol is manufactured by your body...80% vs. 20 dietary.
  • I used some almond butter chocolate fat bombs and depending on where my calories were for the day, I'd have one or two for dessert. That was only the first couple of weeks though. And I haven't needed them since. I made this pazookie type thing for dessert tonight because my DM1 son asked me for something sweet he could…
  • It's not a straight substitute though, so look for almond flour recipes.
  • @SuperCarLori In the support department. I'll never tell you that it will be easy. But I will tell you, you can do it. Maybe find something else to do with your hands/mouth while you get through the withdrawal and cravings. Get a set of ben wah balls (the kind for focus/twirling, not the *cough* other kind) to play with…
  • @Phrick is MyNetDiary a pay site? Or is there a free option I'm not seeing?
  • So happy for you! That's a lot of focused determination, you should be proud of yourself. Congratulations.
  • That's awesome @genmon00. I have ever intention of do the same to my Dr. in December.
  • I don't have an app that a love outside of Happy Scale. But for food ideas I love alldayidreamaboutfood.com
  • Well, at least you know your own solution. You wouldn't want to keep losing at that rate, I mean think about it...you didn't put it on at a lb a day did you? It might help you if you start looking for NSVs (non-scale victories). Just a thought.
  • @NonnaTurtle Don't be ashamed. You're here now among people who want to support you. I know I do. Been there...and if it makes you feel less alone my starting weight was 344 and I'm only 5'6". MFP whines at me too on my fast days and I just ignore it. It's stupid algorithms that are aimed at the average overweight person…
  • I love all the knowledgeable people on this board. Thank you for the clarification @FIT_Goat. @Sunny_Bunny_ I wasn't going to throw the IF out the window, I feel like I need it to get my BG numbers to continue to drop. They're in normal range now, but still kinda high in the morning 93-94 for the last few days. But…
  • @kpk54 It took me a couple of times reading the sentence too. But I think what he meant was there is an upper limit on how much fat the body will pull from it's stores and that is ~30 calories per pound per day. So conceivably a 145lb person could pull 4350 calories out of fat stores (145*30) if they were having a crazy…
  • @RowdysLady at least you know he's not in it for the wrong reasons.

  • Thanks @kpk54 I did, but it turned out only one burger with a dollop of bleu cheese dressing and 6 hot n spicy wings. Delish! I devoured just under 1500 calories in the last hour. And now I feel like I wanna go for a walk. *smh* sometimes I feel utterly dumb.
  • @FIT_Goat Further education, if you don't mind. So I thought one of the bennies of eating Keto was that (particularly if you are fat, which I am) if you didn't have enough calories available from food that it would then use your body fat for energy? Does it take the body a great deal of time to ramp up that process? Is…
  • Thank you both. You both have similar advice. Eat something. So I am. I prolly have dipped too far down on the amount I was eating and it hit me like a ton of bricks and the last thing I want it my metabolism to down regulate. So I'm eating a some LCHF appropriate snacks while I make myself a couple of burgers. Sometimes…
  • Here's another Keto Calculator that is a bit simpler

  • I was at the grocery store yesterday and my hubby and I are walking down the baking isle looking for the no sugar jello packs when my nose (which I never knew there was anything wrong with) catches a big whiff of sugar. It was too sweet! Several other times I've caught smells that were pretty strong, but my hubby can't…

  • The strength and determination you face the trials of this year are inspiring. Congratulation on your success and many good wishes for the challenges that you still face.
  • That's wonderful! Here's to your continued awesome health.
  • @nicsflyingcircus One last thought for you then, my eggs are much more likely to stick if I use either coconut oil or bacon fat (no matter how much is in the pan, floating as you say), but if I use butter they're fine. I never intended to imply you couldn't cook, and I'm sorry if it came off that way.
  • Remember also that you can subtract fiber from you daily count so if you've eat 34 carbs and 10 of them are fiber your count would be 24. It's a good reason to get your fiber in. :pensive:
  • Welcome to the fold @Abram86. Vegetable fats/oils are on the avoid list. I would never worry about the fat ratio on a meat. Nuts are middle of the row things macadamias, pecans and almonds are on the lower carb side, walnuts too. Here's a site with a breakdown. Remember when you are counting/watching your carbs you can…
  • @ProCoffeenator It's not silly at all! It's one of the NSV's I'm looking forward to -- being able to see my collar bones again. I've always considered them the sexiest part of a woman's décolletage.

  • Okay, I'm gonna brag here...please forgive that. I can cook perfect fried eggs or pancakes (Low carb, of course) with no sticking in both my stainless steel and my cast iron pans, and to be truthful, I prefer my stainless steel. Although, my currently most used are the ceramic non-stick pans. Here is most likely the deal,…
  • @ruffneck813 Damn dude! you are hot! Great work. @daylitemag Thank you. Can I just say, I'm impressed with hauling golfclubs around the course. I know I couldn't do it.

  • @Sunny_Bunny_ I can't tell you how cool it is that you have all these awesome threads bookmarked for us initiates. You rock!
  • I think this may be my favorite thing I've read all day.
  • Thanks @RalfLott It seems I took all of the brain's energy needs as being glucose, rather than some. I stand corrected.
