I was part of a Lean and Clean Fitness Challenge on a Facebook I am part of. We have a list of foods to eat, mostly clean and I've stuck to it. We her one cheat meal a week and I don't go crazy but I do eat foods I crave for this cheat meal.

Great advice and that's why I'm asking. I want to make sure with the amount of activity I'm putting on daily that my caloric intake is adequate to sustain me. I want balance.

Thank you guys for responding. My goal is 150.....this is not "short term." I used to be consistent then started working from home and became comfortable. This is a lifestyle for me. My diary is open so you guys can access it and give feedback. I suppose overall I'm doing fine but the scale not moving for two weeks just…

This was one of my biggest questions when I first began and I figured it out on my own finally. YOU DO NOT have to eat all of those calories. It is a deficit and you need to burn more calories than you consume. Generally, I work out and burn 400 - 500 calories and my daily caloric goal is 1200 so I am have a quite a bit of…

Nikki, I had this same confusion a few weeks ago, and I have since learned that when you work out you create a calorie deficit, and this will allow you to still lose weight. You have more to work with & that's a good thing You can eat right at your calorie goal or you can eat the supply. I try not to eat my supply though…

I generally eat a slice a day - Orowheat Healthful or double fiber bread. I NEVER eat white bread. If I eat a sandwich then it's three slices a day. It's within the confines of my calorie goal. I used to think breads, potatoes, etc were evil, but you have to eat in moderation and know what kind of bread to eat so it's…

I do eat when I am hungry. I just don't overeat or emotional eat anymore. I will only use those calories when I need to. Otherwise, they will stay in reserve.

I am at 150 and my goal is 140.

I do both cardio and strength training (w/ a personal trainer) For the cardio the burn is measured by the actual machine. I run three miles and do the ellipitical for thirty minutes, so it is quite easy to estimate the amount of calories I burn. When I do strength training for an hour twice a week, my trainer as estimated…

This is actually what I was thinking! Thank you so much.

The total cals for the sandwich was 400.00 calories, so I was off by 100 calories, but still I am coming under everyday. I guess I need to make sure I am measuring accurately.

Anything that we do to include food, needs to be done in moderation. The guilt should come when you over indulge. Find out why it is you are having these feelings and then go from there. Try not to be too hard on yourself. Never view a lifestye change as a "diet." The word diet has such a negative connotation to it and you…
