  • Not sure if someone already said it for me but you could do whole wheat pasta, brown rice and whole wheat breads. When I started going healthier I started small by switching to more whole grain or whole wheat. I started adding in brown rice with the regular white rice, so that my guy didn't complain too much as he dislikes…
  • First off, slipping up happens. Don't let it bother you so much. Just remember why you are doing this and stay with it. Maybe right down a list of reasons why you are doing this. Post it to the refrigerator as a reminder. An easy way I keep myself from over eating when dealing with emotional stuff is to take something for…
  • Kettle corn or regular popcorn is one of my favorites. Also started eating Fiber One snacks. They have a very yummy 90 calorie brownie and chocolate peanut butter bar.
  • Found an article you might want to check out. http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=50900
  • Honestly, I'm not sure. I have heard though that a balanced diet is always best for your body. My mom who was a nurse for several years is always telling me that as were the exercise trainers at Curves. So, I'd say it might not be the best thing since it makes your diet unbalanced. I would suggest asking your health care…
  • Activity that your body is used to doing doesn't count as exercise. Its a bummer. However, you do need to do as the first person replied. Set your lifestyle as active. This will account for the calories you burn while at work. Now if you do some extra stuff at work one day that you don't normally do, log that. Also there…

  • You know you had a good work out when you are too tired even for sex. lol You know you had a good work out when you are too sore to open the wrapper on the chocolate bar you were saving for a special occasion. (I hate when this happens!)

  • Best advice I got is that you need to find your own reason to keep you motivated. What is a reason for loosing weight that you just can't say no to? Here is mine: I've always had a hard time getting motivated. I've been on a weight-loss roller coaster for the last 3 and a half years. Mostly due to a car wreck and all the…
  • I just bought one of Leslie's dvd sets. I plan to start right after I get my living room cleaned up. My goal is to just do 50 miles with it since I'm handicap, and walking takes a lot out of me. But who knows I might surprise myself and pass my goal.
  • I'm in!
  • I would wait until my leg is stronger, but that may never happen. Originally, I wasn't even supposed to walk again. Proved those doctors wrong! However, my leg is busted for the rest of my life and will most likely walk with a cane for life (And I'm only 23!). :frown: It bites. :grumble: Keeps me from doing a lot of…
  • Didn't walk at home today. Walked a nature trail instead. A good bit of it was identifying birds and flowers. Still got in at least 45 minutes of walking though. I feel really good about it. Was also wearing a backpack so that added to my exercise while walking. I'm going to buy one of the walk at home dvd's soon. Lately…
  • Thanks everyone! I'm feeling a lot better about it today. Then again that might be because my pants nearly fell off when walking today! lol. I know I'm loosing fat and gaining muscle, but it still sucks to stare at the same number on the scale day after day and to look in the mirror and see the same old face. However,…
  • I haven't been using my Wii as much as I would like on weekdays. I go to a Curves women's gym in the mornings and by the time I want to work out again, my bad leg is too sore. Think I need to find a better way to balance my exercise and pain management. :frown: Guess I need to set an alarm for daily Wii exercise time or…
  • How many calories were you eating before starting your 1200 calorie diet? And how long have you been on it? I ask this because from all the diet research I've done if you suddenly switch to a really low calorie diet plan you will gain weight because your body thinks it is starving and the same goes for eating under 1200.…
  • Sounds fun! I've been walking more lately and it would be nice to be in a walking group. Just got some new walking shoes that are designed for shaping and toning as you walk. Been using them since I got them last week. Makes a person want to walk more. Glad to be on here!
  • My favorite right now is my healthy breakfast wrap. 1 wheat tortilla 1 or 2 eggs scrambled 2 sausage links sliced (I use banquet brown n' serve) 1/4 cup or one slice 2% cheese 1 package Taco bell fire sauce (or other hot sauce) I cook the sausage links in the microwave while the stove heats up. I use paper towels to get…
  • I use Suave's Firming Lotion. It takes a while to work but it isn't bad. Not sure how bad your case is, so I can't promise results. If you are too unhappy about it, go to your doctor and see what they say. I hear there are prescription firming creams. Or there is always surgery...if you are really unhappy about it and…
  • Did 20 minutes of my exercise yesterday with my Wii Fit Plus. Did the Free Step while waiting for food to cook and watching tv. My man doesn't mind it since it doesn't mess with his tv time. I also used my 3 inch attachment for the balance board so that it was 4 inches tall, making the workout harder. I really like the…
  • Keep up the good work! Go you!
  • I read the Eat Clean Diet book too. From what I've gathered the pounds don't come off all that quickly. It's not going to make you loose 3lbs a week or anything like that. So my suggestion is to watch your calories and find a way to exercise. The eat clean diet talks a good bit about strength training because the more…
  • Did 20 minutes of free step on Wii Fit Plus today while watching tv. Also did 15 minutes of my EA Sports Active. Didn't burn as many calories as I wanted too, but that's what I get for not exercising early in the morning when I was full of energy. Will do better tomorrow.
  • Thanks everyone. I think I'm going to try stepping it up a notch. I started back at the Curves women's fitness gym this last week and started walking again. I'm hoping that will boost up my weight loss. I'm not used to walking much so that is going to be a shock to my body. I never really get out execpt to go shopping or…
  • I'd like to find a way to get rid of stress. Is there even anyone who isn't stressed? Anyways, I forgot to add a couple to the list. - Taking a hot shower in the morning gets your body all started up helping your metabolism fire up. - Getting your daily amount of fiber. If you don't get the correct about of fiber and…
  • I've been meaning to pick one up too because of target heart rates. I got to the Curves women fitness center and they make you stop ever 7 minutes to check your heart rate. You have to count your heart beats for 10 seconds to see if you meet your target heart rate. Walmart's HRMs seem pretty accurate when compared to what…
  • My friends and I went back to Curves for a second workout today. Someone there sells Avon and in the Avon magazine there are a pair of knock offs in it by the Curves brand. Someone had ordered a pair and the Curves employee saw our shoes. She decided to try on the pair that someone had ordered to see if she liked them. She…
  • For all you who posted you were unsure or the price was too high. I'm not the only one who loves them. My mom and friend love their shoes too. We all got the same ones and wore them to our Curves fitness center and loved them. They worked fine at the place and didn't affect the workout from the equipment at all. In fact we…
  • My mom and friend also got a pair when I got mine. They love their shoes too. They are both able to jog in them just fine. I'm not but that is because of my ankle injury. The only thing is it takes a while to balance in them. Once you have that down they work just like your average shoe.
