I was not specifically referring to your post when I reiterated my point. I value your opinion and I like to hear what works well for others. Thank you for your insight :)

Thanks SLL! That gives me hope ;)

Thanks! I will take a look... Have you tried it?

I am not trying to be rude so please don't take this the wrong way... I know how to eat at a deficit, what I need to eat to lose weight, and how to lift heavy (well at least heavy for me)! I know this is a life long process and something I will have to change forever and not just a quick fix (even though most of us wish it…

I don't want to "bulk" at this point because I'm afraid I won't go back to a cut! lol I'm not far enough in to trust myself at this point. So my options are: eat a deficit until I get to a desired weight (risking losing muscle) and then do bulking and cutting cycles or try this recomp thing that people are talking about.

But I want to be skinny and muscular now!!! **throws temper-tantrum** ;)
-
I figured most people would say that... Thanks for your response :) The idea of gaining muscle and losing fat at the same time is just so tempting! I would love to still hear from people who are using this method before I make a decision.

Way to go!!

Has anybody tried ON's Gold Standard?
-
I was thinking about getting something unflavored too. I would rather put it in my coffee or my cereal in the morning than mix sit with water/milk and drink it.
-
Thanks! I'll look into it... anybody else recommend this?

When I first started I couldn't even use the 45 lb bar! I started with 10 lb dumbbells and worked my way up... Now I squat around 130 lb 5x5 and keep moving up! Be proud that you are doing it at all... some people can't even say they are trying ;)

I would love some more weight lifting friends! :) If you like to lift and motivate others to keep lifting then feel free to add me

Wow! What an inspiration!

Awesome! Thanks :)
-
feel free to add me! I am also looking for more friends that lift :)
-
Free weights!!! I do strong lifts as well but there are plenty of other lifting programs out there. If you do want to still do some cardio, I recommend doing it after you lift.

bump for inspiration!

trying to get this thread moving again! Love these!
-
oh yay! now that I have posted the pics are showing back up! SCORE!

I'm sad because I can't see any of the pictures anymore! :( I just started the 5x5 program. I had previously done NROLFW but it was getting way to complex and time consuming. Also many of the moves I wasn't able to do at home. I would love to see some progress pics from those who have had success with 5x5 :)

Cottage cheese (tub) mixed with orange jello packet, can of mandarin oranges, and 1/4-1/2 tub lite whip cream. I call it orange fluff. It sounds weird bit it is delish!! It also has a lot of protein and is only around 200-240 cals (depending on amount of whip) for a really decent portion size :)

I'm not looking for an elliptical right now but maybe in the future. Getting everything together for weight lifting is top priority right now. I'm finding some things that I'm interested in on Craigslist... just have a hard time buying used and trusting people ya know? I still have to check ebay too...

oh! apparently I can't name the store because they think I am cussing lol so they starred it out for me ;)
