  • A few grams difference in the weight of vegetables would be like... a calorie. And if anything, you will log a little more than you're eating, so you'll keep a slight deficit. Better than logging less than you eat! But really, it's veggies... it'll be okay.
  • I used to do a cheat day or cheat meal once a week. Then I found that it would often turn into two or three or four days. So instead, I took a day off from logging and told myself I could have whatever I wanted, but I typically stuck to my usual foods. Having a day off during which I didn't have to log every bite was a…

  • Yep, I agree. Your training plan sounds fine. Aside from the APFT (running, pushups, situps), our PT sessions were mostly running (hills, sprints, and formation runs) and body weight movements. The most common way to get smoked was pushups. That's the one thing I wish I'd done more of before Basic.
  • I usually just mash avocado with lime juice. I'm too lazy to make the entire guac.
  • If you can't move the scale, you could always put your scale on a small piece of plywood, a cutting board, or a large piece of tile, depending on how big it is. My scale would fit on a 12x12 floor tile. At least the scale's floor contacts would be on a flat, even surface.
  • I love swimming, but the last time I swam laps I limped out of there with horrible tendonitis in both knees. I was out for like a week and I was not happy about it. I haven't been back. I do CrossFit and run instead, all without pain. Weird.
  • I pre-log the things I want for the day and make the rest of my day fit. For example, on Saturdays I watch Outlander and drink wine. In the morning, I log my wine for the evening, my coffee from breakfast, and my workout calories, then I plan my meals around the remaining calories. Planning my treats keeps me from…
  • People who park their car in the middle of two spaces so no one will park next to them. Get over yourself, your car is not special.
  • I lost all the weight. Neener neener neener!
  • I don't eat in the morning. I prefer coffee first thing and an early lunch. Occasionally we go out for breakfast, and that's about the only time I like it. I usually get the french toast
  • Late evening, especially on nights my husband works. I feel sad and lonely and I've always turned to food in the past. As far as combating this problem, I keep tons of low-calorie options available (canteloupe, strawberries, dried apple rings, jars of dill pickles, and sparkling water and Diet Ginger Ale to name a few)…
  • I'm too obsessive so I had to stop taking bites of stuff. I measure or weigh everything before I eat it. It's the only way I can feel like I have things under control. Otherwise I'm like "Omg, I had food that I can't log, my whole day is ruined, eat all the things!"
  • Try the cookbook called Deceptively Delicious. It's by Jessica Seinfeld (Jerry Seinfeld's wife). She makes all kinds of foods with blended vegetables hidden in them. It's intended for sneaky moms to feed their veggiephobe kids, but it works on husbands, too. Not that I'd know
  • Cadbury caramel eggs and the Whopper's style robin's eggs. I will not be enjoying of it today. I am going to the Mariner's home opener tomorrow and choose to save my naughty day for that.
  • Haha, nope. The last time I was hit on was by my husband the night we met. That was 10 years ago. If I've been hit on since then, I didn't realize it. However, I highly doubt it has happened. I am extremely ordinary.
  • Well done! Feel free to add me! You're an inspiration!
  • I weigh way too often and log every single loss, even if it's a tenth of a pound every day. I've decided to take a break from it. I got dunked yesterday to find my body fat and my next test is in 8 weeks. I'll weigh in again then.
  • Ooh tight rings, that's not a bad idea...
  • I used to weigh myself every time I was feeling light, after runs, first thing in the morning, pretty much any time I felt like it. This was a problem because of the fluctuations.... I was always discouraged. On Saturday morning I'm doing my first hydrostatic body fat testing and then I have another test about 8 weeks…
  • Whenever I buy treats for my kids, I only buy them stuff they love that I don't (peanut butter granola bars, butterscotch and vanilla puddings, banana cream pie and cinnamon roll flavored yogurts, marshmallow peeps, etc). This way I'm not tempted to plow through their good stuff. I hate when people send my kids treat boxes…

  • All I ever want in the morning is coffee. Maybe a couple eggs if I'm lifting heavy later that day. Eat when you're hungry, not when you think you're suppose to eat. :)
  • The key to happiness in my marriage is separate bathrooms.
  • I toss cauliflower in lemon juice and sprinkle with parmesan, then roast at 400 degrees until they are getting crisp and brown on the edges. I also like to steam brussel sprouts and then saute them with olive oil and add a little soy sauce and minced garlic to the mix. We put asparagus on the grill a lot, tossed with lemon…
  • I am playing it safe. If I spend 60 minutes for the warm-up, strength, and WOD, I am logging it as 30 minutes of CrossFit in my diary. The 60 minute burn looks reeeeally high to me.
  • Today I went to CrossFit. Strength Portion: 5 sets, increasing weight with each set 1 strict press + 1 push press + 1 push jerk I did 35# (everyone did the bar for the first round), 55#, 60#, 65#, and 70# Conditioning: 5 rounds against a 3 minute clock 350m row 15 double-unders Shoulder-to-overhead at 65# Rest 3 minutes…
  • Nah. If I stuck to my calories every single day of my life, in two years I will be smokin' hot and I will have suffered through two years of family events while everyone else indulged and enjoyed themselves. I just try to pull a long run on those days, then it's not so bad. You gotta live, too.
  • I always thought it was 8-8oz glasses for a total of 64oz a day. I could be wrong, though.
  • Sweets. So much so that I will eat whatever is around that's sweet just to get the fix. Yogurt, cookies I bought for the kids and don't really like, make a new pot of coffee so I can put sweet creamer in it. I can't even keep things like ice cream and cake in the house or I'll destroy it. I eat when I'm bored, stressed,…
