  • I made up some mini egg frittatas with broccoli, peppers and mozzarella at the weekend and froze them so I could eat them a couple of times a week for brekkie, having 4 of them now
  • I suppose it depends on the intensity of the main workout you do in the evening but it would probably be ok. If your worried you could try and mix it up and do push up and squats every other day, and then something targeting another body part on the next day. I heard of a method called "greasing the groove" recently, the…
  • Thanks for all the help and feedback guys, greatly appreciated. I will be incorporating a lot of what you say into my regime :-)
  • Body weight bridges i heard are good for the lower back as well.
  • Thanks for this, this sounds like the type of thing that I'm after. Hyper extensions because I'm mostly into body weight training. (I stopped doing weights due to injuries).
  • Sorry for the late reply folks, I've been mostly doing HIIT and before that I was doing boxing training. I've been doing it for a number of years now. Most of the workouts tend to be full body conditioning drills, insanity type workouts. I used to do stiff legged deadlifts with a trap bar a number of years ago. I was…
  • Thanks for the input people, got some good ideas from you all.
  • Thanks for the post, that's pretty close to the ratio's I'm implementing, its always good to see what types of foods other are using to reach they're goals as well.
  • Thanks for the advice Marcae, I'll definitely keep it in mind as it something I might try out in the future depending on how I get on with my current Macro ratios.
  • I agree there's definitely not a one size fits all approach when it comes to nutrition for fitness. I don't really see the sense in cutting out a whole food group completely (they are there for a reason, right). The whole Keto thing seems far to strict for me, I think it advocates that your carbs should be at a ratio of…
  • Feel free to add me as well folks
  • Cheers I'll check this out as well :)
  • Best of luck, I'll check out the documentary
  • But surely all the healthy professionals and nutrition specialists agree that the good type of fats i.e. Nuts, Avocados, Fatty Fish, Eggs etc is good for you. If you based your high fat diet around these types of things and through in some Sat Fats along with it, then you would be safe enough??
  • Add me as well folks :)
  • Sounds great, Coriander is a great mix with Avocado, its a must in Guacamole! Fish is something I have to start eating far more of. At the moment I eat Tuna and Salmon and that's about the height of it. Cooking with the Coconut Oil is great as well, gives everything nice flavor.
  • Had an awesome high fat breakfast this morning. Egg pizza with mozzarella avocado, olive, Ham and some other veg
  • Just checked my Cholesterol levels from breakfast this morning, turns out its about 370mg's lol. must have been all the eggs!
  • Lol this sounds interesting, do you just blend it all together I take it?? Seen a post recently about blending tofu and adding vanilla to it to make your own protein shake. Thanks for this, Avocado and Nuts are becoming more and more of a staple in my diet. Is it alright to eat two Avocados a day or is that over doing it?…
  • Cheers Mr Knight, I think like others have said its just a matter of experimenting with it. At the minute im working out all my Macros ahead of time using MFP to see what foods are going to help me achieve my Macros. I tend to use it to work out quantities of food to meet my goal and write them down, instead of using it on…
  • Thanks folks, just started working on my diet. Ordered some Coconut Oil from MyProtein, looking forward to trying the stuff out. I've heard a lot of good things!
  • Thank mate that's really encouraging. The afternoons are my problem as well, just hit a complete slump where I have no energy on most days which leads to lack of motivation for training and anything else really!
  • Yeah 55% is quite high in fairness, It's just something I've been thinking about and not a definite percentage yet, but I think I might try that to start off. That's encouraging, do you concentrate mostly on healthy fats or do you throw saturates fats in there as well 60 - 70% that's quite high! Thanks for this ill keep it…
  • Thanks to all who replied so far. This is probably a stupid questions but I take you can't test your cholestrol yourself and it would take a visit to the doctor?? Ive heard a lot of good stuff about higher fat diets recently myself and I think there is a lot of misinformation out there regarding it and heart disease, other…
  • Yeah what you explained if pretty much what I'm after, at times my energy seems to dip really low to the point im almost unable to concentrate on my work and stuff. More even energy and better focus sounds good to me!
  • You could define HIIT as working to high intensity for short period of times and then taking a short rest in between sets and repeating. So say 45 - 60 second sprint as fast as you can go followed by a 30 second rest/walk and then repeat. Other examples are tabata intervals, hill sprints, punch out drills on the heavy bag.…
  • Thanks for the replies. I did some searching and found the following links with some good recipes in them that might help everybody: http://dailyburn.com/life/recipes/homemade-protein-bar-recipes/ http://www.runningwithspoons.com/2014/01/07/soft-and-chewy-protein-granola-bars/…
  • Some really good stuff in this thread. Have to try these Quest bars out, they seem expensive though
  • Thanks for this, I was assuming that you should avoid sugar and sat fats as much as possible. That should help
