Although my fingers are crossed for you, have you considered studying beforehand?

I think the intent was compliment. Usually people are blunter when they are tendering an insult. I had a similar situation. I gained 40 pounds in the last year. Someone who hadn't seen me mentioned it didn't look like I gained anything. I'm sure she meant it as a compliment, but I was also thought if I lost 40 pounds - no…

I have had good results with my Nike Fuel. It does make me move more and I try to accomplish the mini-goals too, like move a lot a certain time of day. I only plug mine into the PC since I have an older phone, but I've seen it hook up with bluetooth to a current droid phone. What I found most helpful is to get the same…

If it's just a calories in - calories out, that's not a bad choice. The peanut butter cup is 88 calories if it's normal-sized - http://www.fatsecret.com/calories-nutrition/generic/reeses-peanut-butter-cup?portionid=25172 I eat a lot of processed foods, but lunch meat is one of the worst for you - it's on a lot of lists of…

Track everything and use the numbers to consider the worth of your splurge. If you shoot over your calorie mark by thousands in one day, the deficit for the rest of the week may not result in a net loss. For example, I ate out last week and didn't look up calories in advance because I still had 1200 calories left for the…

Both my youngest brother (age: 44) and I (age: 47) are wearing the same fitness wristband so I see his burn. I walk mostly, but if he's ahead I dance like no one's watching. Today's calories: 1203.

I couldn't stand the competition for fairest one of all.

My wearable helps motivate me to move more. It's only little on-line badges, but I like obtaining new/harder ones as I progress. I have a Nike Fuel band because that's the brand my youngest brother has. He showed it to me and how he was able to add friends to compare scores for the day. It lists movement as Fuel points,…

You will be 50 for a whole year.

I'm twice the cat! (Albert became a foster cat in rescue at 30 pounds. He's slimmed to 28 in eight weeks.)

I have a different brand wearable. I find the goals it sets and little online badges motivate me to do more. My youngest brother also has this brand (he had it first and recommended it) and this allows me to see another person who I can comfortably (or brutally) compete with.

Mom? Is that you?

Texas may be big, but only the size of an appetizer for this cat.

I concur. Way to go!

I sit at a pet store weekly to do cat adoptions for a rescue group. We have groupies that are the same faces week after week. They're not there to adopt a cat or to buy supplies for their pets, if they currently have any.

You are in good shape since you already have a bachelor's and won't be asked to repeat coursework. You want to know the practical, hands-on work for anything you get into, and don't be too concerned about having to look specific commands up. IT is allowed to have books at their desks :) It is not unusual for people to…

This weekend we had a newbie person at our adoption event and she brought bagels. Since they came from a bagel chain, I was able to add it to my food diary when I got home since it was already in the MFP database. If your neighborhood bagel store is not a chain and they seem to hesitate on accurate info, can you weigh it…

Would love to join. Since there's a few pages of responses here's my team preference order: Time Lord, Dalek, Companion, Cyberman. Thanks.

I'm doing this all wrong! I'm literally walking around the yard with two dogs.

Between pets and kids, this looks close especially since I currently have one with explosive D right now. It's gloves, bleach, getting on my knees to scrub and also wrestling medicine into her. I'm going to log any consistent activity that takes me at least five minutes and I choose light cleaning because I'm not 'putting…

I wear my crocs year-round, including the mammoth style without socks in the winter. Mostly I stick to outdoor activities like walking the dogs. When I do serious walking for my fitness wearable, it's either the crocs or sneakers. There are a lot of crocs in New Jersey, and it's not only kids - I've seen men wearing them…

I think the colleges my daughter looked at required a meal plan for all students living in the dormitories. If that's the case for you, can you get a lower number of meals, rather than the 'full plan'? Can you take items 'to go' such as a whole brick of almond milk, besides a lot of fruit? I think the 'to go' option is why…

There is a Dunkin Donuts bakery around the corner from where I live at the moment. It's not a shop, just a bakery to bake for local stores. I can smell sugar and fat in the air some days when I'm walking the dogs. I have good will power for Dunkin Donuts because when they used to bake in the store, all the fillings would…

I would like to join with my new cunning friends in Slytherin.

I have a Nike Fuel Band. I already knew people with the product so I can compare my scores to theirs. I find I work harder for the virtual badges and trophies, besides thinking I can do a few hundred or a thousand more points.

Also from that movie - 'I'm your huckleberry.' On my white board at work I have "I don't care if you walked through a mountain in Texas. This is New Jersey, and when you play my joint you're just another act." I added "Have you ever heard of Plato, Aristotle, Socrates? Morons." to my office mate's board. And for a while…

MFP will do the math for you, and I think I see it best on the home page. You start the day with a goal of 1200 calories. If you log some exercise into the MFP site, those calories are added to your 1200. If I walk my dogs for five minutes (they're old and don't want to go far), I get 20 calories of exercise. After I log…
