Just signed up to MFP

Just signed to MFP after failing at other diets and am hoping this time to succeed!
I am fairly active, I love Zumba, cycling and walking my dogs. I wanted to lose the weight for my 50th but that is not going to happen now as it is next month! But I am hoping to lose some weight by Christmas.
Any help/support would be very much appreciated! :drinker:

Don't bother imposing tough time limits. Just get started. And then keep going.

Don't rely on exercise for weightloss. Do it for your health.

Rely on improving your diet for your weightloss. Monitoring calories and such with map is time consuming but it does help. If you ever get sick of counting calories, just logging what you eat and weighing daily will do it for you as well - so long as you understand and accept that the scale goes up and down a lot all the time.

I agree. You don't have a lot to lose, so it will take some time, but it will also be easier to develop your new habits so that you can keep it off!
  • Thank you. I am feeling very positive, just hope it lasts!!

I have been on this now for 10 days, my only exercise is 20 minutes of fairly intensive running each day and keeping an eye out on those darn calories. My first weigh in was last friday and I lost 3kg, even loss is a great achievement and adding them up over time will show the full picture. For now, just cruise along and don't worry too much about the time limits. Any loss is a positive gain.

I love walking my dogs for exercise as well. Feel free to add me for encouragement.
