Gayle, sorry I just read this...my daughter is actually now living in Colorado! She's in Fort Collins. I'm all the way in Florida so it's unnerving having her so far away! I'll just say, unlimited talk minutes on our phones is a blessing!

Thanks everyone. I found an online calculator here. I'll give it a shot taking my pulse every 15 min during a 1 hr session, then take the average and plug it into that calculator and just for kicks, see how close I get to MFP's estimates. Thanks!

Today I'm grateful that my daughter (who lives on her own out of state :() is doing well and managing to survive without mom (she's only 19). I had my doubts when she moved but she seems to be handling things just fine.

Screw every other suggestion. This wins.

If the OPs family is *strict* vegetarians, they may not even allow meat in the house. I second seitan...and also peanut butter, seeds, walnuts, almonds, cashews.

Hubby drinks it but I prefer coconut milk. The Silk brand claims to have 50% more calcium than cow's milk.

I haven't seen one...but if someone starts one I'm in!

Today I am grateful that my veggie garden survived the cold and windy weather last night. Grateful for the sound of the birds singing outside my window right now. Grateful that we have nothing on the schedule for today. I plan on taking a walk in a little bit but otherwise, it's going to be a nice easy carefree day.

Today I am grateful that my parents are still around and relatively healthy for their age. A good friend lost her mother today, and it really made me appreciate that I still have mine.

10/30: 60 min (Zumba) 1,366 down / 74 to go 94.9% hours complete / 96.8% October complete Aww...so close! 74 minutes to go, but I don't think I'm gonna quite make it. If tomorrow weren't a holiday, I'd be golden, but the trick-or-treaters are depending on me. Hope there's another challenge next month!

Awesomeness! You're doing great!

Thanks everyone for the nice comments and for cheering me on! I don't have a "diet buddy" per se to celebrate with, but you all make me feel like I do! <3

Gayle, I saw this today and thought of you...and of me!

So sorry you are going through this. I have a nephew who's been in so much trouble his whole life...honest to God I don't know how he's managed to stay alive this long...he's 19. Must have an angel on his shoulder. Saying a prayer for your nephew, that he might have one too.

You don't have to eat 1380 EVERY day in maintenance. You know how when you're eating at a deficit, you can spread that deficit evenly over all seven days, OR, you can splurge a little one or two days and cut back a little more on the other days? Same would go for maintenance I would think...you don't have to eat at 1380…

LOL haven't tried the last few, but distractions always work for me. I find something I get totally immersed in and I completely forget about snacking. ...but this makes the most sense...need to try this myself!

Cool! I like the ticker!

I would have to disagree that this diet doesn't teach good eating habits. I find that I have been successful so far because I am still very careful to eat within my maintenance calories 5 days a week. And learning to eat at your *maintenance* levels is the key to sustaining a long-term healthy weight. Just like any other…

OMG you are looking a-MA-zing!!!

Went for a walk to the lake today. Grateful for the sunshine, breeze, trees, and leaves...and the birds wading and fish jumping...AND that I really don't care if anyone thinks I look silly grinning from ear to ear the whole time because I'm loving it all so much!
