Welcome, Kipperdoodle1! Congratulations on making the decision to have WLS, particularly the sleeve! I had mine done 6/6/14 and I haven't regretted a minute! I am looking forward to hearing more of your journey!

What does your husband say about this?
-
I definitely had "bathroom issues" for years before my surgery, and I am happy to say that YES, it is so much better!
-
Hair loss is unfortunately a common occurrence after WLS. Keep getting your protein and keep taking your vitamins. I have not had this happen yet, but from what I have heard from others, the hair loss will eventually stop.

Is there anybody that has had this surgery and has NOT had their hair fall out? I am 5 weeks out, and I'd like to have some hope!

I'm sorry you are having trouble. It is very important that you stay hydrated, so if nothing else, please keep taking in liquids! If food makes you gag, then have some broth. Are you able to keep your vitamins down? I would keep this up until you are able to eat, and then stay with pureed foods for a little while. Also,…

Based on my results after surgery on 6/6/14, it seems that everything you described is normal. Increase your fluids and keep doing everything the way you are. If you think about it, 8-10 pounds in that short of time is huge! It won't always be that way, however. You will have stalls, and maybe even gain a pound or two (I…

Hi Raja! I had my sleeve done June 6th. My doctor/nutritionist recommends for me 100 oz of fluid daily, and 75-96 grams of protein every day. Now until the 6 month mark, I am to eat 3 oz of protein with each meal, and then supplement the rest with shakes. If you could at least walk 20 every day, that would be a good start…

Thank you for your responses. I guess my doc does not want to focus on calories now, and that's why I did not receive any instructions. My next appointment is 7/29, and I will verify this with him then.

Congratulations! That's so great!
-
You are going to be so much happier with the sleeve! It does still take a lot of work, but you will be able to eat real food after just a few weeks! I wish I had done it years ago!

Thank you!

First of all, Congratulations! What a great feeling! Second, and please forgive me, but what does NSV mean?
-
That's one of my all time favorites!
-
In Canada? LOL! Just kidding! Welcome!
-
Thank you! My first goal is to lose 60 pounds because I have never lost that much before. I can't wait to say I've gone beyond that!
-
You've come to the right place! Congratulations on your decision to have the VSG! I am 4 weeks out and it has been such a great experience for me!
-
I guess I am one of the lucky ones, because I didn't have any of the problems others have had. After a week I had no more abdominal pain, and I never experienced nausea or vomiting. I have lost 20 pounds since my surgery 4 weeks ago, and I hope to continue with my good fortune and keep losing until I reach my goal weight.…

Good morning all! I had my VSG on 6/6/14. As of today I have lost 20 pounds since then, and a total of 51 pounds! My surgery went very well and I had no problems with nausea or vomiting afterward. My abdomen was sore, like I had done 1000 sit ups, but that was to be expected. I took no pain medication after I got home, and…

Hi! Welcome to the group! I am 4 weeks and 3 days post surgery, and things are going really well for me. Since my surgery I have lost 20 pounds, and 50 pounds total. You said you have done a lot of research on this procedure, and that is such a good sign that you are prepared and ready to take on this challenge! I wish you…

So inspirational! Today I am 4 weeks and 2 days post sleeve, and I feel great! I have lost a total of 50 pounds (19 since my surgery). I hope that in one year I am able to post a similar story here!

I have a silly question. How do I get the "pounds lost" picture for my posts?
