200 is not way too high. It is high, but not crazy. I’m 42m and hit 200-210 with a chest strap at times. I’m also a former endurance athlete (emphasis on former)…. Some people naturally have a higher max. If the HR is accurate, You likely also have a low resting HR and I’d guess it comes down quicker than most when high.

Sorry OP, I can’t help. I never have the problem of eating too little. 😁

I wasn’t aware this was a couples advice app. Good lawd.

Hell ya! Good for you! Congrats!!🎉

Tell me more about this chunks of butter diet. Sounds intriguing. 🤔

Good job OP! The fact that you’re looking at menus beforehand is next level. Simple answer: if I know it’s a “fun” day/meal, I’ll also look at the menu and, frankly, be boring. I always log the cals so I’m honest with myself about why or why I’m not reaching goals. And yes, I’ve given into the chips and queso at Mexican…

Good call. My polar is set appropriately, but I hadn’t set my Fitbit yet. I did an hr hike today and tested both devices. Fitbit came in 150 over what polar did. Not great, but not absurd like previously mentioned.

Congrats!!

Since no one else is saying it… Everyone here knows the basics of a low cal diet and exercise. If you don’t want to do, then you won’t. Suck it up buttercup. Sincerely, Thread Jerk

I posted the ingredients, but the short cuts are: Turkey pepperoni over pork Part skim mozzarella (I used 3oz, but you could easily get away with 2oz and cut another 100 cals) The super thin crust you see in the ingredients For sauce: Can of tomatoes, add salt and dried basil, then blend it (I use a hand blender) But the…

Folks in this thread are trying too hard. Just walk for 20-30 minutes and try different inclines and speeds. Find your sweet spot. Most importantly, don’t be intimidated by those around you at the gym or those who tell you what “good” is. You’re going to crush it if you’re consistent. Good luck.

To me, clean eating is simple: Whole Foods… meaning… Potatoes carrots chicken fish broccoli onion garlic steak lettuce spinach squash beans grains (rice , whole wheat bread etc) tomatoes avocado banana apple berries etc etc etc. You focus a diet on these things and you’ll crush it. For what it’s worth, you don’t have to…

Know-it-all Karen’s (and Jarens) have ruined the board. This place used to be thriving with info from folks.

Get in that pool chica! It’s fun, it’s easy on joints, and it’ll burn a lot more than you think. Plus, it’s the summer… it feels great. 😊

RetroDude nailed it. If you want to optimize, get some protein in within 1-3 hrs of a workout. Other than that, RetroDude gave you the facts.

If you’re running regularly, grab a polar chest strap to measure calorie burn (etc). For example: I do a 1hr hike 1-3 times a week. My wrist-worn Fitbit estimated 630 cals burned while my chest-worn polar estimated 320.
-
OP, given that you’re not overweight and you exercise regularly, my input will be a little more straight-forward than others…. You’re all good. Congrats on being healthy.

Meat= cooked Everything else= raw

Chili with ground chicken! High iron, protein, fiber. I have my own complex homemade recipe, but it can be as easy as: .5 lb ground chicken 1 can chopped tomatoes 1 can kidney beans Seasonings Just had a huge bowl of my homemade chili for lunch (leftovers) and it was 550 cals and 40g of protein.
-
1 egg is 70 cals and 6 grams of protein. 1 Silva Sausage link is 170 cals and 12 grams of protein. That’s sausage and eggs for 240 cals and 18 grams of protein… not bad. If you want grab and go, Jimmy Dean English muffin sandwiches (sausage, egg, cheese) are 260 cals and 16g of protein.

For me, 1 day of not logging turns into 2 days, and then 1 month of me fattening myself up… so I log 🪵.

Bob is super confusing. 🤣 (But helpful)

The Stanford study in this thread was has nothing to do w/ this discussion (at best) and was entirely misleading in this context. Anyone who used it as 'evidence' clearly didn't read it with any level of criticality. Previously, there was a study posted that included 15 men between the ages of 20 and 24 who were…

Welcome to the thread, my friend. Its been fun. lol 1- The Stanford study is not comparable. It measured wrist worn HRM's accuracy in HR and calorie burn... in 2017. They were answering the question, "Hey, are these new-fangled HRM watches even accurate?" The answer was obviously not. Its a good study for what it was…

It’s not universally necessary at all. I agree with that and stated in the OP. But I do believe it’s the fastest method to achieve the lean look that many desire, especially amongst men.
