Polar A360 Review & Question about other HR/Activity Trackers
This is the first "activity tracker" I've had, but not my first HR monitor. Positives 1. I bought it because (1) Polar is the most accurate HR Monitor and (2) Because its the only activity tracker and wrist based HR Monitor that could ALSO connect with a chest based strap for the most accurate measuring. 2. It's slim and…

This. Would. Suck.
So this guy has 3.5 miles left on his 30 mile swim in shark infested waters and he has to call the swim quits because a great white started circling him. It's known as the Farallon Islands swim. To put it into perspective, the English Channel swims are approximately 21 miles, roughly the same water temp, but no great white…

Wow, this group has grown!! (I'm kinda new)
Hello All, I remember joining this group 3-4 years back and it was a ghost town... And now there are new posts every day... Exciting to see! So... Me... I'm a division 1 NCAA scholarship swimmer who qualified for the Olympic Trials. 400IM, 200 Backstroke, and distance were my events. After the threat of a 2nd shoulder…

ROLL TIDE!!!
There's gotta be some folks out there as anxious as I am about tomorrow's game. RTR! I promise to eat back all of my exercise cals on Saturday. Will burn approx 1000 cals for going crazy during the game and will eat approx 1000 cals in beers and nachos. P.S. Anxious about waiting for it to start... not anxious about if we…

Can we all agree on how to enter recipes in the database?!?
So, when I enter a recipe that I made for dinner, the little thing at the end says "Would you like to add this to the MFP database?"... and I never click "yes". Why? Well because you cant see whats in my recipe, you only see what its called and, therefore, why would you add it? One of my recipe's is "Scott's Nut Mix".…

What Makes MFP Work For You?
I've been on MFP for about 2 months now and have had better/healthier results than anything I've done in the past. Sure, I lost 50 pounds yrs ago, but I did it by basically going on a carrot and rice cake diet. Obviously, that didn't last... but MFP is different. I really started thinking about this when seeing family…

Swimming Workouts
Hey Everyone, It seems that no one ever replies to 'swimming' exercise workouts and threads, but I have to think that there are a few out there who do actually swim. Considering that everyone always talks about interval training, and swimming being the epitome of interval training, its odd to me that more folks don't do…

Restaurants with Good Nutritional Info
Hello All - I'd like to keep a running list of all of the restaurants that have good nutritional info on their websites or in their various locations. Apologies if someone has done this before (I haven't seen it), but I think it would be very helpful for me... but probably all of us. Plus, I'd really like to give business…

Red Velvet Cafe in Las Vegas
All, I've found the mecca of amazing baked goods at low calories/fat. They have a whole cafe with typical cafe types of food (sandwiches, salads, etc), but the cakes, muffins, cookies... I'm in love. They have large single-serving cakes and all of them are under 200 calories and between 4-7 grams of fat. To top if all off,…

How often do you do abs??
When I was a swimmer, we'd do abs every day and I always kinda kept to that. Then I wanted to start building more muscle and learned that you should do abs 2-3 times a week but kill 'em when you do them. I'm always working 'core' in everything I do, but specifically for abs... how often do you guys and gals do them? I'd…

Swimming Workout
Hello All, I don't know how many avid swimmers we have out there, but below is the workout I did yesterday. I'd say you should be an intermediate or highschool lever swimmer to do it... I like workouts like this because they get the job done relatively quickly... and if you have an outdoor pool to swim at... DO IT!…

Cheesecake Factory (Vegetarian Info)
Hello All - I'm kinda new here, but I'm sure The Cheesecake Factory has been discussed in the past. I, personally, don't have an axe to grind w/ them, but was extremely ticked based on our experience last week that I think Vegetarians would be interested in hearing. I hope it helps a few of you who didn't know. You'll get…

Introducing....
Me! I joined up w/ MFP about 2 weeks ago and have lost a total of 8lbs. I grew up a competitive swimmer my entire life and through college. Because of this, I ate HUGE portions and basically whatever I wanted (don't be fooled, the swimmers you see at the Olympics don't always have steller diets until they get older). Ah,…
