I agree with above poster about no harm in enjoying yourself from time-to-time. However, if you want to really stay within your limits, why not be firm about it? Tell them you can't eat what they've selected, so you will order your own appetizer that is healthy - they can do their sharing among themselves.

I'm on WW and we have this thing called the "filling foods list" Its a list of a lot of healthy, low point foods that fill you up. I think you just need to reconsider your menu. I didn't look to see if you had it up, but try eating more whole grains, veggies, and fruit. I count points instead of calories now - and I meant…

Whatever you do, don't get discouraged by it! My last cycle, I stayed the same as the week before, but a few days later I was down 3lbs. I've always been told to drink lots of water during, and leafy green veggies help too - Both help reduce bloating and cramping.

I joined WW online about 10 weeks ago and am down 14 lbs. I really like it! I really like MFP but I like the structure and accountability of WW. I was not consistently logging into and tracking on MFP so I wasn't losing. It dropped me to 1200 cals and that just wasn't working for me. I paid for WW so I'm trying harder and…

I've heard people say to use EVOO when they get preggers to PREVENT stretch marks. I use is sometimes and I think it helps lighten a bit.

Is 160/98 really high? I don't know what the standards are but I don't think I'm much lower than that and my Dr. isn't concerned. As far as heart rate, when I haven't been working out regularly, I can go up to 190 before I get concerned. Anything over that I feel like I'll pass out. I think when I'm working out 3-4 times a…

My Dr. put me on it because its not supposed to hinder weight loss. It made me lose my appetite when I first was on it! Everyone is different though!

I stick with red wine OR some sort of rum and diet coke. I don't know if those are necessarily healthy.... but atleat its DIET coke :) If you like beer they have low cal/low carb ones. I know someone that is diabetic that has found beer that works well for his sugar issues.... Also learn to have fun without drinking. If…

Do you seriuosly feel like you are in a bad mood all the time? or are you over-exaggerating? I was feeling that way around wintertime (in addition to sleeping constantly) and my Dr. put me on Zoloft. It is used to treat seasonal depression AND PMDD (I told her I felt like I had PMS all the time!). It helped a lot. She said…

FYI, a plateau isn't a 1 week problem. Plateau's are definitely a longer period of time, so its NOT a plateau. Definitely eat back most of your exercise cals like most people said!!!

I didn't do the extreme fat smash, just the basic. It worked really well but I put it all back on when I stopped doing it. I think the extreme is more of a meal plan whereas the basic just allows certain foods in each stage. They tell you not to work out in the first month (maybe a walk at most) because you don't give your…

I agree!!!!!! I am just back on it so I expect a little more each week, but in a few weeks I know 1.5 lbs a week will be excellent! Most doctors say 2lbs per week is right and I know some don't believe it, but my doctor a) has a lot more medical knowledge than me! b) is way awesome, so I believe her when she says it! :P

i JUST started a B-Complex vitamin. It gives me a lot of energy (in fact almost too much sometimes I get the shakes lol) but maybe that would help. I also use the 1 a day gummies (the swallow ones make me nauseated). I just take one gummy even though the serving is 2. Just to supplement a little bit because I would like to…

Those people on biggest loser also do that with a doctor and personal trainers on site. They also injure themselves often too. And several of them gained their weight back when they left the ranch.... Usually a heavy person (like me @ 202 lbs and size 16) can lose 5-10 pounds in the first few weeks but its mostly water…

My profile picture was taken 2 or 3 weeks ago. I was SO unhappy with it that I just snapped and joined WW. I've been a MFP member for a few months but nothing held me accountable so I was back and forth with it. Hopefully WW works better for me to start and keep me motivated. Lost 6 so far even though my tickers says…

OK I have to ask about this (sorry to hijack the thread) but I just started WW for the first time ever and I'm doing it online.... Did you eat only your exercise points and NOT the weekly points, or did you eat both? I haven't been logging my exercise on there for points because I thought I read that it was to be used if…

You might be eating too few calories with all of the working out. Are you eating your exercise calories back?

I was really shocked myself this week when my work buddy and I talked about our weights. We both started WW and she said when she weighed in she was surprised to find she was just under 200 for the first time in forever. I was shocked because I have been just over 200 for a good year now and I am pretty sure she wears a…

Oh and I confess that I'm irritated that my ticker doesn't show my loss.... Because when I started on MFP, I was 202 or something like that, and I gained up to 210.... so even though I've lost 4 or 5 pounds in the last two weeks I'm still more than my starting weight. UGHHHHH.

I LOVE this one. Makes me laugh so hard. I can picture someone stealing them slyly so that nobody sees it. I never thought to count gum, don't bother with crystal light. Oh and I just joined WW (been on MFP for a few months and wasn't sticking to it so I tried something different, plus someone I work with is doing WW). So…

What about Jimmy Johns subs (they atleast scoop out a lot of the bread! They have all their nutritional info on their website too so you can track it easier. I sometimes keep a small thing of skim milk in the fridge to go with my morning cereal. That might be a good option in the future, keeping things around the office in…

I know this may be kind of gross but I'll be honest about it... I was bloated A LOT and its because I wasn't regular with the bowel movements, so are you OK in that department? Sometimes I didn't even realize that I hadn't gone for days (I know some people that are religious about monitoring that but I've always just gone…

I've heard many times over that cooking veggies certain ways (pretty much anything other than steaming) reduces the nutritional value and vitamin effects. Well... I mostly steam my veggies anyway and its pretty much a miracle if I eat all my servings in a day whether or not they are the most effective method of cooking or…

I think you should share your goals with some close friends at work and your parents. Maybe they can be more considerate and NOT ask if you want fast food for lunch, and maybe your parents would be happy to join you and think about cutting down on the snacks. I told my live-in boyfriend that he can buy swiss cake rolls (oh…

There are lots of places you can write reviews on Dr's. I would suggest you do such! Just google his name and all sorts of medical sites with info should show up where you can write a review. I might even go as far as writing a letter to the office to complain. Not only do you need to find a new Dr, he should also…

I wish we could work magic on those things! I'm a horseback rider and developed a lot of muscle there. I try to avoid anything that will build muscle there. I hope some weight loss helps because my calves are soooo big that I have a hard time buying tall horse riding boots. argh!

This is EXACTLY how you come across. Watch your punctuation and caps! And to claim you eat healthier than anyone on MFP is just ridiculous. Maybe you eat more NATURAL but I think 90% of people on MFP thought you were being a nasty person right when they read that. You lost me there! Otherwise, thanks for a good,…

My boyfriend is trying to add weight and I'm trying to lose so I understand. Here's what I do: make lots and lots of good protein! I make pasta to go with protein so my boyfriend can fill up. Last night I made almost a pound of steaks (fillet yum, I buy when its on sale or something!) and I picked a small steak and he ate…

AGREED! I've read through most of the P90X nutrition book and 1200 calories is certainly not enough if you are on P90X and/or Insanity.

I had a friend go through something similar in middle school for about a year. She did all sorts of tests to no avail, and eventually they found that she had a tapeworm?!
