  • Many happy returns for Friday @ContraryMaryMary Nice work @Aquarian - keep it up! We had signs of spring, and then the rains returned! Swapped long run days as the offspring were home for Mothering Sunday. Really not sure how to approach going further with 5 weeks to the marathon. Slowed it down on Saturday to stretch out…
  • I had a half marathon streak. It was going really well until today - day 2 that is! Fair run at Eastbourne yesterday, weather was really nice, cool and dry. A little slower than Brighton last week though there was a much bigger hill on this run. Have a great week everyone!
  • Your efforts all look amazing. Keep it up. Feb was a bust for me, target 100 miles, actual 77. Moving on from officially the wettest Feb on record in my area, and hopefully up with a target of 120 miles for March. There were some Feb highlights, work organised a team event where people came for a run or walk with me as…
  • Thank you for asking @tarun_yadavA I am running for the stroke association, happy to bore anyone on how much good they do. My page is https://events.stroke.org.uk/fundraisers/andrewwalkington I am an accountant, of sorts @quilteryoyo and yes, I wear a lot of grey! Thank you all for your support for Sunday. I am treating it…
  • I am running the London Marathon in April @daria0919 . I can't say this week was any better, arrived in work on Monday at 7am, ended up with a 36 hour shift to get a job completed. Topped of with a complaining e-mail from my boss's boss about why things are taking so long. Quite honestly £"€& 'em! So no exercise at all…
  • Right there with you @Leigh_b I said this was the year of saying no, not doing very well at it so far. Sat in the office now having my lunch break and thinking "Why am I limiting myself to a lunch break, I only get paid Monday-Friday, I can have all the breaks I want!" Only 9 weeks to my Marathon, long run tomorrow. One…
  • Great unplanned HM @ContraryMaryMary Nice work on reaching the 100 mark @quilteryoyo Felling positive vibes for your results @chris_in_cal My non-exertion 'zen' is a bit of sensory depravation for me @polskagirl01 . Either complete blackout or some soft led lights, ear plugs, nice and warm so cosy, nothing to do but think.…
  • Thank you @shanaber , my son is moving to Canada Water and will be pretty close to Tarun. We could go for a run together, for about 10 yards and then I would be watching him disappear into the distance. I should get down to 10 minute mile pace and that would be a good time to join up. Got this stupid cough an cold that…
  • So sorry to hear the news @quilteryoyo . Glad you had some positives on the day. Thinking of you.
  • Sorry for not commenting as much as I should, likes and hugs given out where appropriate. My Feb goal is just to run regularly and not be in pain. Back is definitely on the mend though yoga is still problematic. Still, the sun is shining, somewhere - keep going folks!
  • Well that took some catching up. The boating was sort-off fun. 3 people on a boat who are definitely amateurs with two of them judging each other and b*tching to me about the other! The best behaved award went to the dog who was living his best life, life-jacket and all. Managed a 5k, 10k and 15k in the week and still…
  • Sound like a great race @martaindale and well ran by you. My taste buds are shouting at me reading about the post race meal. Many, belated, happy returns to you and @Laurz9191. Not sure I would be so keen to run on my birthday, I would spill my beer. Yesterday I ran the parkrun with a gentleman celebrating his 83rd…
  • You can feel like that. Feel awesome as well!
  • Try the 'lifestyle' treadmill. They give you a video scene to simulate a running route. Where did it give me? A busy city centre with lots of people about. At one point I was even running between the tables of a street cafe. I felt like such an **** I was tempted to stop! That cake is amazing @polskagirl01 ! It might be to…
  • There is a family of 6 foxes living in my garden. They have been very welcome until this week when they started digging up the lawn to practice burrowing. They have been given two weeks notice!
  • You are a legend @UncleMac - keep it up
  • I love the way you sound out your discussion on whether to do 20 or 27 miles @7lenny7 . I have a habit of asking people questions and then saying the answer before they have a chance to even think about it. I understand the point on mileage @AlphaHowls and when I checked my year to date miles and then saw you August…
  • Thanks for getting the September thread going @AlphaHowls My target for this month is going backwards down to 70 miles from 80. I have a training plan for a HM in October and there is a certain amount of tapering in here. I have even added a couple of runs to suit my longer term goal to make it up to 70. Happy September…
  • Ahhh! Are the temps over 80 degress now? Makes a nice change from windy and rainy earlier in the year.
  • Hit target for the month with 2 hours to go. Always under control :* Second TM run to close it out. For part of the run their was a stomper on another machine and I found my step pattern matching theirs. I'll kick the month of with a walk after 4 consecutive running days.
  • Are you in Texas or has someone pee'd you off?
  • A bit long, but a nice nickname
  • Great work on the tri @Laurz9191 . That swim sounds very complicated - not what was needed! This Englishman went out for a run at midday. Fortunately it was more midday cloud than sun. Just didn't have the juice in me and called it at just over 10 miles. I postponed the long run from Sunday as we had a three day weekend…
  • I haven't even planted my lactate threshold! I'll pick one up at the garden centre tomorrow.
  • True, do you want another ice age though?
  • That sounds like a lot of miles in the next few weeks already. You know how you feel, as long as there are no longer term impacts I would be tempted though I am averse to losing money :# Great going on the 700 @quilteryoyo , currently struggling to hit 80 for the month! Had a good run last night fueled by anger at some…
  • Good morning All, if you receive a random request to allow Andrew W as a follower on Strava, that is me! @Teresa502 yes, Asics Gel Sonoma trail shoes. Figured at my current weight best to have the extra stability, and I do tend to run through woods rather than stick to tarmac alone. I wish my little pooch would look that…
  • Many happy returns @SummerSkier , have a great day! Breaking in a pair of shoes today, about time as they are two years old! A bit monochrome but there we are. Half way through the month though not half way through the target!
  • My top 5 desserts 1. Eton Mess 2. Eton Mess 3. Eton Mess... I am not a fan of chocolate which rules a lot of things out. Seeing you guys running in that heat, I can't decide if you are amazing or bonkers! I would guess a good mix  With my April marathon timeline my original plan is out the window. I am using a…
  • Definitely though about that motivation post @Lietchi . With my April marathon timeline I am using a garmin plan that has a half marathon in October which also means 10 miles next Sunday. This was my original plan and how far I have got: Weight Targets : Under 20st by end May '23 *Achieved* Under 19st by end Jul '23…
