Hit target for the month with 2 hours to go. Always under control :* Second TM run to close it out. For part of the run their was a stomper on another machine and I found my step pattern matching theirs. I'll kick the month of with a walk after 4 consecutive running days.

Are you in Texas or has someone pee'd you off?

A bit long, but a nice nickname

Great work on the tri @Laurz9191 . That swim sounds very complicated - not what was needed! This Englishman went out for a run at midday. Fortunately it was more midday cloud than sun. Just didn't have the juice in me and called it at just over 10 miles. I postponed the long run from Sunday as we had a three day weekend…

I haven't even planted my lactate threshold! I'll pick one up at the garden centre tomorrow.
-
True, do you want another ice age though?
-
That sounds like a lot of miles in the next few weeks already. You know how you feel, as long as there are no longer term impacts I would be tempted though I am averse to losing money :# Great going on the 700 @quilteryoyo , currently struggling to hit 80 for the month! Had a good run last night fueled by anger at some…

Good morning All, if you receive a random request to allow Andrew W as a follower on Strava, that is me! @Teresa502 yes, Asics Gel Sonoma trail shoes. Figured at my current weight best to have the extra stability, and I do tend to run through woods rather than stick to tarmac alone. I wish my little pooch would look that…

Many happy returns @SummerSkier , have a great day! Breaking in a pair of shoes today, about time as they are two years old! A bit monochrome but there we are. Half way through the month though not half way through the target!

My top 5 desserts 1. Eton Mess 2. Eton Mess 3. Eton Mess... I am not a fan of chocolate which rules a lot of things out. Seeing you guys running in that heat, I can't decide if you are amazing or bonkers! I would guess a good mix  With my April marathon timeline my original plan is out the window. I am using a…

Definitely though about that motivation post @Lietchi . With my April marathon timeline I am using a garmin plan that has a half marathon in October which also means 10 miles next Sunday. This was my original plan and how far I have got: Weight Targets : Under 20st by end May '23 *Achieved* Under 19st by end Jul '23…

I have asked my family @AnnPT77 and there are no takers for the photographer role for my butt photo! Who knew ;)
-
Oh my word @springlering62 I was so hoping you weren't right. My body is morphing in the strangest ways. On yesterday's run I could feel the blubbery base of my butt cheeks flapping around loosely as I ran. They definitely weren't there before. It was flabulous! I was invited by a friend to run the River Adur footpath…

Hope you are having a great start to August!

I have the solution for my yoga face-planting! Get the cushions from the chairs and place them around where you land. Then, in the pose where you lie on your front and do a passive stretch of the inside of the thigh use one of the cushions, nod off for 40 minutes! Works a treat - really refreshed and I bet that muscle is…

Freudian slip there @Mari33a  Many congratulations to you both as well!

I'm a fan of AM and BP

Thank you for setting up the August thread @AlphaHowls Going to set a target of 80 miles for August. 33% up on my final total for July and means one more run than the Garmin plan. I mean really garmin, who does 78 miles in a month? Happy August everyone!
-
Well things have moved on a notch. I down loaded a garmin training plan for beginner to half marathon that said I was already on week 5. I think their version of beginner was somewhat different to mine! Currently doing my best to follow the plan. I ignored the 60 minute long run in the plan on the 9th July and instead did…

Ending the month with nothing to report! You all lead much more interesting lives, it's great  Finished over target at 60 miles after my first 8 mile run for a couple of years in the one bright spot of weather this weekend. It has the feel of 'edge of winter' right now, windy and wet. Rather than go out and exercise…
-
Heat you can cure with water - stomach issues have consequences that can't be solved if you re 3 miles from a toilet! A wise choice. I didn't exercise yesterday because those that said they were going backed out and I went "Well why should I then", nothing stopped me other than being ****** off with them. SMH! Great work…

Working this weekend and will have a proper catch up later

A present from my son...

That is an impressive challenge @apressler3 Hal Higdon looks good @spiriteagle99 and it gives me chance to work on general fitness and mileage and start the Hal plan in January. Hoping to have reached 3 stone down (under 250lbs) before the month end @AnnPT77 . Weight loss is going to be key though slow and steady now. I…

Thank you everyone for the congratulations on the London marathon. I have to agree @polskagirl01 there is a touch of terrifying about attempting a marathon from where I am, it has taken a few days and I ready to create my plan. Hope you are getting by in this heatwave @eleanorhawkins Congratulation on 800 miles done…

The sheep that give us wire wool have no natural predators.

Yes! Men have an amazing ability to ignore it. For years I looked in the mirror and only saw the neck upwards - all good. Now I am trying to lose weight every little thing is visible. The feel good factor of losing 3 stone is eaten away looking at the moobs and belly staring back at me whilst I brush my teeth. I'll never…

Holy Moly! Time for a new title, 21stone to 26.2 miles in 12 months.
-
Holy Moly! I don't think 4 miles is going to be good enough!

Some great runs out there everyone and some drama - simple is boring! Impressive best @Laurz9191 and @chris_in_cal ! Running in a group can bring out the competitive in us. Really pleased your Dad is home @Teresa502 , hope the road rash for your friend isn't to bad. Glad you came through the unexpected op well @shanaber…
