Slow and steady progression of distance. I was told by my doc that I'd never be able to run with my knees. I dropped 30 pounds and took it VERY slowly sometimes only increasing by half a mile a week and the doc has had to eat his words. I did my first 5k this past weekend and have a half scheduled for early next year.…

Felt so good to finally get back to running after dealing with my groin strain. Really hoping it's finally gone and I can get back on track this month.

Groin strain completely derailed me this month; we'll see how close we can get 09/15 - 3.92 miles (11:23 pace) with double…

I haven't done SL yet, but plan to start in October. From everything I've read it's a good plan for beginners that are new to lifting (i.e. Me). I've seen lots of pics that show good results. I can't wait to get started and see what everyone else continues to say about SL.

One day won't make a big difference. You have many more left to make good choices. If you truly can't get over the guilt, use it as fuel to make the next day that much better.

I'm with you. I have a plain one every morning with my breakfast. Guys at work say not to talk to me until I've had my yogurt in the morning (I guess that's just my coffee). Haha! Funniest part is when I eat it on the weekends and my wife tells me that it smells like (and I quote) "rotting death." Hehe.

Posted this in another thread earlier, but I'm just too happy about it. My towel fits around me SO much better after showering at the gym. I no longer race to get my drawers on for fear it will drop randomly. Love it!

Awesome! Be proud, improvement is always worth celebrating.

That's my goal for the winter too. Hoping to do some open water tri's next year and I've been told that I've gotta be able to breath on both sides first. So here's hoping I can get it down as fast as you did.

Absolutely! It's the best NSV I've had yet; and to think I almost didn't even notice it!

Here's mine.

Way to go! I can't wait to get to that point on my runs.

Thanks for all the info everyone. Now to hit the Amazon and see what I can find.

April 2012 my wife and I took a month long vacation before having kids (a last hurrah for a while), part of which was a couple days at Disney World. During which we had dinner at Victoria and Alberts. I can't remember exactly what we ate, but it was seven courses, there were bread and butter pairings with each course (that…

Thanks for the advice! I'm definently hoping to take a masters class this winter (if I can find one that will work in my schedule). In the meantime I'll just keep at it and try to have fun.

In for 60 this month. This will be first year running as it gets colder, so we'll see how this goes.
-
Aug 22 - 3.17 miles Aug 26 - 6.55 miles Aug 30 - 5.61 miles Didn't make my goal, but I'm still happy with 50 for the first month if tracking mileage. And considering my wife was in the ER a couple times one week, I'll take it as a win all the same. Will push harder next month for 60!

I love spinning, but don't touch my bike. It's MY ride. An instructor doesn't know what's going on that day and I'll go at the pace and resistance I like. IMO she was WAY in the wrong. She also seems to be blowing this way up too. I'd stay out of her class anyway, doesn't sound like someone's class I'd like to be in.

A-mazing! You look great.

1. Batteries are cheap. 2. With everyone else I don't know when I've changed my scale's battery. 3. Anything plugged in even if it isn't being used is sucking some amount of voltage. So unless you plan to unplug this electric scale after every use it will be constantly drawing power and running up your bills. Bottom line:…

Just found this group. I'm in! Never set a goal since I started regular running in April (just do more than last month), so let's go with 60 miles.
