Very true. I weigh everything, unless I'm eating out. If I'm packing a lunch, I weigh everything before it goes in the container and pre-log it.

I'm a midwife and this comes up often with my clients. Usually carb cravings translate to a need for proteins and fats. Make sure you eat some protein when you have carbs, like almond butter or peanut butter or cheese with an apple for example. Pregnancy induces a big metabolic load on your body and it's important to keep…

Don't give up! I was in the same boat. I was stalled for about three months, probably due to slacking over the holidays. I switched my exercise routine, started being VERY careful about weighing food, stopping the little snacks here and there, and I'm on another downward trend. Make sure you're drinking a lot of water, too.

Fats are important, especially if you're eating low carb. Paleo is not necessarily "low-carb," although it is definitely "lower-carb" than, say, Weight Watchers. My favorite fats are duck, bacon, and ghee. Yum. Good luck to you!

Definitely do-able. I've lost over 60 lbs since March. I started at 209. My friends cannot keep commenting on my appearance. I feel awesome! You can do it!

Yep, I'm there. 10 lbs to go! I've been hanging here for about a month boinging back and forth on the scale. I've had a lot of temptation (events, Thanksgiving, and just feeling over it all) so it' s been hard. Feel free to friend me!

Yes, that was my first thought, too. Just one of the many things we women get to look forward to as we age. I would recommend reading books/websites by Dr. Christiane Northrup to start. If you are concerned, I would recommend you see an actual endocrinologist, who can rule out hormone imbalances (e.g. insulin, estrogen,…

I've lost 60 pounds since March so it's do-able. I have a few more pounds to go until I'm at a "normal" BMI and this part is going slower - I lost quickly in the beginning. Good luck to you and congratulations!

This is my go-to chili recipe. Sometimes I use ground turkey instead of beef, but it's much better with beef! http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/smoky-beef-and-bacon-chili

Wow you look great! Awesome work! I love your quote: "I think It's not about being super strict all the time and not enjoy life anymore. It's about having a long-term goal and seeing each day as a new chance." Great job.

Thanks for the reminder for cast iron! I used one this morning and it was perfect!

I never used to have issues with quest bars but I did a few months ago. It was very dramatic (I was in the grocery store and almost didn't make it home in time) and now I avoid them and all alcohol sugars.

I'm feeling crappy and I'm making some chicken soup right now. I add some greens at the end (collards, kale, or bok choy) instead of noodles. Today I have lots of extra garlic. My appetite isn't so great right now either but I'm trying to make sure I get enough fluids (tea, water). You could also just drink some plain…

HA HA I used to do that too!!!

YUM. Same here, my mainstay is usually just salt and pepper and sometimes lemon.

Well, today my wedding rings fell off into the dog's water bowl :-) I mean, I knew they were getting loose, but not THAT loose! I'm getting them resized.

I subscribed to paleoplan.com to get meal planning ideas (not affiliated with the company/blog/whatever). They create a weekly meal plan, including breakfast lunch dinner and snack, and the shopping list that goes with it too. Not every recipe is great but it's helpful to have a barebones idea. I usually only use it for…

Ok, I thought I'd share what I made for pizza crust last night: http://paleoleap.com/paleo-pizza/ Annnnnnnddddd, it sucked :-(. I don't eat dairy so I was limited by a lot of choices out in internet land. I may try a cauliflower crust pizza again, but the last time I tried a recipe it didn't come out well (I didn't squeeze…

I love greek yogurt with fruit.

When I took phentermine, I took it later in the day. I was told to take it on an empty stomach and not to eat one hour before and after taking it. I usually would take it around 10am or after lunch. It's also possible you're feeling fatigued because you'r e not eating enough, or you're dehydrated, or your sodium is low.…

That's awesome!! I recently got to an "overweight" BMI and I know how you feel :-)

Don't give up! I also notice that lifting helps my weight loss go faster. AND you want to lose fat, not muscle, and lifting helps with that too. you'll look badass in your clothes with more muscle definition. Most gyms have personal trainers on staff who are there to help newbies with a lifting routine -- for free. Either…

Morning. If I don't do it in the morning, it doesn't get done. Although when I take my daughter for her swim lessons in the evening I will often swim too.

You will want to strengthen your transabdominus (it's a band of muscle going across your lower belly) as well. Even though you had a c-section you may still benefit from pelvic floor therapy (studies show it's pregnancy, not vaginal delivery, that's hard on the pelvic floor), which will also help your core muscles…

You may want to go over to one of the keto groups on MFP who can better answer your question. But yes, your protein is WAY too low. You want to keep carbs low, not protein! Good luck!

If you're near a Chipotle, you can go there. They have menus with caloric intake. I don't go very often, but when I do, I get a chicken or beef salad. You can add whichever toppings you want (cheese, sour cream, guacamole, salsa, etc.). I agree with man of the other posters: try eating meals with grilled meats and some…

That's so great! Thanks for the inspiration (I have 2.5 pounds to go until I'm at 50lbs weight loss)! Way to go!!

Hi there and welcome! What works for some people may not work for others. This site is very anti-low carb and pro-calories in calories out. I find that low carb works for me, but I am pre-diabetic and can't handle sugars well. I don't know if a young and growing healthy 18 year old SHOULD do a low-carb diet (a la Taube). I…

Sometimes I feel like it's a salt craving, or protein, so I try one of those things first (or double it up with a jerky snack). A piece of fruit, a handful of almonds, some greek yogurt with honey or jam, some pickles, those are positive choices. Also, a piece of chocolate isn't going to kill you, but if you keep going and…

We're having a holiday party and I would love to look sexy in a tight cocktail dress!
