Drinking water, and lots of it. Making a point of keeping healthier snacks on hand for when munchies strike. And finding an exercise that kept me interested. The exercise for me was probably the biggest impact on my life. I used to hate to sweat (and exercise for that matter). Started on this site 7 years ago and started…

I'm in the camp of do what makes you happy and who cares if it's "in" or what anyone else thinks. I've always wanted one because I like them. I'm 40 and plan to get mine done for the first time this fall.

5 lbs in a month IS something, and something to be quite proud of. Also, don't let that hurtful comment linger in the back of your mind...bring it front and center. Use that to stay focused. When I had started on the track of getting and staying healthy a few years ago, I had a "frenemy" make the comment to my daughters…

I bring things like grapes, blueberries, cherries, cherry tomatoes etc to snack on. That way, I can keep just popping stuff in my mouth all day but the calorie count stays low.

What a fun thread! I wanted to be a dancer...of any kind. I also had kids young and got married and that all changed my directions. BUT...having my kids so young means they are out of the house now (mostly) and I started taking zumba at my local gym a few years ago and it's similar enough that it fulfills that part of me…

Definitely more of a chewy texture, but I would make these again. They're pretty good  I added about 1/8 cup no calorie sweetener to the recipe.

30 ETA: I cannot wait to try these...my whole house smells AMAZING AND DELICIOUS

I have these in the oven right.now. Sneaked a taste of the batter and was impressed with the taste. For 45 calories per cookie and healthy ingredients and something else to do with over ripe bananas, I'm sure they will be at least edible if not delicious.

I spent a ridiculous amount of money on a (my first) bikini last year and got into it. (I don't have an ideal "bikini body", but after losing 83 lbs and gaining the "couldn't care less what others think of me" attitude that comes with age, I decided I would do what made ME feel good.) I've gained some back and that bikini…

I eat alone frequently too and not overly fond of cooking or spending a lot of time in the kitchen. These are 2 of my favorites and can definitely be thrown in before work, set on low and will be done when you get home. Chicken: Throw 2-4 breasts in frozen, dump a can or two of cream of chicken soup, add half a cup of…

In Alaska if you say you're going "outside", while it can mean you're just stepping out the door, it's also commonly referencing leaving the state.

I haven't gotten through most of this topic yet, but so far it has made my week. And ^^ that is the best. Post. Ever.

I wholeheartedly agree with both of these posts.

I've been smoke-free for just over 2 months. I used (and still infrequently use) an electronic cigarette when the cravings get super intense. Using it less and less every day.

Absolutely amazing and you are definitely a hero! Fantastic display of what working hard for what you want can get you. OH yea, and I scrolled

stupid &*^%$#@ frito scoops I haven't been able to stay away from since quitting smoking 2.5 weeks ago :grumble: Have gotten into them I think every.single.day. And it needs to stop. Since I haven't planned for them, I usually end up calling it lunch and I haven't inhaled the whole bag or anything but it's frustrating that…

Wow, what can be said that hasn't been said already??? That is amazing and wonderful and I'm thrilled for you!

My tired eyes completely skipped over the period and simply processed "chocolate tylenol". My next thought was, omg - I want some. ETA I think they could be onto something there though - market chocolate tylenol to all the ladies with monster PMS

skylark, thanks. It was definitely a freak accident and no one believes the driver is even aware that it happened, nor that it caused a fatality. But the police obviously want to find it for the investigation. It is likely that the driver has had to have stop to have it repaired and just isn't aware of the situation, but…

I have heard that if you mix castor oil with baking soda until it's paste-like, put it on the tag and cover with a bandaid, that they will dry up and fall off. But I don't know. I would try that before anything else though as it sounds both painless and harmless if it doesn't work.

Omg...lol, had to post this. I just opened the link and my 76 y.o. stepdad was standing behind me. I was going to ask him if he thought she was pretty. But before I could even open my mouth to ask, he looked at the screen and said "oh my god she's skinny. she wouldn't even make a good toothpick!"

Anchorage, Alaska to Indiana. But will confess to having a driving partner to trade off shifts. Was loads of fun too. But the Al-can is scary :noway: ETA: Ooooops. Just caught the "in one day" part. Can't recall how many miles was done in one day...approx 650 I guess
