I have similar issues. I have loads of energy on fasting days, on non-fasting days I'm sluggish. Been logging and noticing the trends for months now, and determined that combining 16:8 (actually I only have a 6hr eating window, so really 18:6) with 5:2 has helped tremendously in the energy department for me. I still get…

I honestly can't believe the insensitivity contained here. Is there really no compassion? It is truly frustrating and baffling when something like getting pregnant doesn't happen for you, when it happens for most so easily. People will go to HUGE lengths to question every single thing they are doing (or not doing) as to…

I watched your video. Very brave of you to spill your heart out like that, and also wonderful that you detected patterns in your eating that leads to destruction in your life. Just as an alcoholic has to give up alcohol to beat an addiction, for you, food from McDonalds triggers some sort of emotional response compelling…

what is medifast?

Sorry, meant to write 2 cups chex mix. A few bites of ice cream is a binge? Either way, in order to answer your own question, you need to weigh, measure and log your foods. Otherwise it's all just guessing.
-
It's very possible, and easy to do. 4-5 pounds gained in two weeks is just about 1000 extra calories per day. 1 cup of chex mix is about 500 calories. 1 cup of ice cream is about 300 calories.

welcome to the Group! Nice to see fellow 5:2'ers :)

They have some low carb flour tortillas Mission brand that are decent, works out to around 6 net carbs per tortilla. I've used that as a base for pizza and also chopped one up and baked it until crisp for nachos, and of course as a taco shell. It's still a treat to use this though, because while it's "low carb" my results…

1200 is pretty low for most males of your height and age. Since you have metabolic issues, average TDEE calculators are probably going to be pretty off for you as well. You may try starting at 1800 a day, log everything and see if after a few weeks you need to adjust. The hardest part about having the thyroid problem is…

I have found it much more useful to check the Glycemic load of foods and beverages than going strictly by sugar grams here at MFP. Proteins, fiber and fats help to balance the rate insulin releases into your bloodstream. Minimizing insulin spikes throughout your life can aid in type 2 diabetes prevention later in life.…

I also make my eating windows pretty short on non-fast days ( about 4-6 hours...fasting days are just one meal) If I have the odd "I'm starving day, it almost always falls on day 3 after a fast. The fasting days really really help keep my appetite in check on non fast days. I log everything, but only because I want to keep…

Something I learned and has been very helpful. No matter how hungry you think you are, it will pass, just do something else.

Hehhee Yeah... my stepmother the dentist gives out toothbrushes and floss :expressionless: Your Thanksgiving sounds much more delicious than mine. For 30 people I usually make a turkey, ham, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, sourdough dressing, swiss chard, homemade cranberry sauce, a salad, green beans, brussels sprouts,…

Thanks for posting, looks like something I'd really like. Missing my pizza!!!

I do only record once a week. Oh gosh if I recorded daily I'd be in trouble. I "Look" everyday, just to get an idea, and I'm up or down sometimes 2lbs overnight. Consistently though, for the last three weeks (four weeks Friday, and I'm up an extra four pounds today, so thinking I'll see that pound + more probably at least…

I weigh every day, same time and record once a week, same day, same time. I guess I'll give it another two weeks see where I'm at and try and figure out an accurate TDEE based on my actual numbers. The calculators don't seem to work for me.

^^this, all day and all night. Hot in the morning, iced during the day, and hot decaf version before bed. It's delicious!

They are opening one near my house in a few weeks!!! Yay! I can now make it a weekly stop instead of monthly. They have these little raisin rosemary crackers that are so yummy! Just a few with some chive cream cheese is the perfect salty sweet snack. Also their prices on canned crab and capers can't be beat.

Welcome back!! Wish you great successes in your journey to health :-)

I walked from the bed, to the fridge to the couch and back to the fridge again. Figured I burned about 50 or so calories.

I feel guilty everyday :-)

You can pretty much cut any bottled or homemade salad dressing with water or milk (for creamy versions). 1T water + 1T dressing mix well, works great! -OR- make sure your lettuce is still pretty wet after washing and toss really well with 1T dressing.

I think as long as you have a healthy relationship with food, going under every once in a while is fine, I tend to look at my weekly averages some days I'm up, some I'm down, but it evens out over the week. Forcing yourself to eat when you are truly not hungry just for the sake of eating for calories isn't very productive,…

adding more fat will probably help things move along. Nuts, avocados, seeds, nut butters, flax oil, olive oil, all good sources to add daily to combat the constipation.

It's not good for me. I didn't say it wasn't good for YOU. My ex-boyfriends weren't bad guys, just not good for me. You may quite like them, who knows ;)
