Try some AVRT (Addictive Voice Recognition Technique). Worked for me so far...My beast actually has a form I can relate to. It's sort of weird but as long as you keep the conversation between you and your beast, who's gonna know, right? (Damn I just told everyone!)

My problem seems to be the exercise. Even the 'easy' Couch25K leaves me absolutely shattered. I got to week three again and stopped as I was finding it hard to find a regular time to do the runs and to be honest I have to force myself to do it. I didn't help that I felt rough the last week of it that I did. I have some…

Hi! No I'm from the south. Not sure where the saying comes from? Yahoo says "Crimbo is a slang term that started in the innercity New York and Chicago in around 1930's", so I'm throwing that back at those in NA lol. The good news is I'm down to 12st 2-ish now and have managed to go 7 weeks without any alcohol! :) I really…

Thanks everyone for the kind replies and encouragement lol :)

I had the same problem when I started C25K. I ran the first couple of sessions (road jogging) in my Addidas Samba football trainers (bad idea!) and got horrendous shin pain. I rested for a week and got a pair of proper running shoes, then restarted the plan. I got similar pain in my shins, but not as bad and this lasted…

Do you weigh-in in the mornings before any drinks/breakfast? I found consuming water made a huge difference in weight. 1 litre = 1 Kg after all....

My mother-in-law came round the other day and and told me my head had shrunk. Not sure if that is a compliment or not lol :-)

Finished week 6 yesterday. From now on its constant jogging 25/28/30 mins. I'm covering about 4.5k in the 25 minutes so far, which I'm happy with. Speed can come later! I've found the jogging part is still knackering and intense, but as soon as I finish (well, a minute or two later) I feel like I could jog some more. The…

Good luck!

I'm on week 6 day 3 tomorrow. 25 minute run ahead, so could be interesting!

I'm starting week 5 today and finding it really hard. Each time the running section is increased I feel like I'm going to die, but if I look back I can see the progress I am making. In week 1 I was struggling with 60 second runs. Week 4 was a couple of 5 minute runs with a couple of 3 minute runs in between. This week is…

Over the last month I've learnt I can live without pretty much everything, although I do need the odd cheese fix now and again.

I don't know if it is really cheating, but on a Saturday evening I have a curry and Sunday luchtimes I have a roast dinner. It's nice to have something to look forward to whilst at work all week :-)

Hi, Berkshire here... The british one ;-)

I had an epiphany (of the non-religious kind) when my youngest son was rushed back into hospital with complications after an operation. Since sitting in A&E for 7 hours that night i've given up booze, am getting fit and I'm an alround better person. You only get one life. Make the most of it!

I'm doing week 2 day 3 today and thought it'd get easier... it hasn't yet! BUT if you look back once you've done a few days, you will notice that you have in fact progressed in the time you've spent running etc. So... you will probably feel just as worn out each time, but each time your body is doing MORE.

I've been using slimfast for my weekday lunch. It works really well and I have a fruit snack mid afternoon to tide me over until dinner time. I'm using the ready made 321 bottles (strawberry) and they taste a lot better than the ones I used to use a few years ago. Check my diary if you want...

I get this ALL the time...It just takes willpower to shut it out and stick to the plan! The last one was last night, when the voice told me go and eat a packet of crisps. I got as far as getting it from the cupboard and putting my hands on the opening. I stopped, thought about it and decided that the 200 cals wouldn't do…

Hi from Berkshire! Feel free to add me so you can check out my diary etc.

I started a week ago and have week 2 day 1 tomorrow. I was knackered after the last one, so not sure how tomorrow will go! I have a Window 7 phone and there is a C25K app on there I use. It handily tells you when you are halfway, so you can turn around and end up where you started at the end of the programme :-)
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Were you eating that, then worried about fruit putting you over? Seriously?
No, that is what I was eating before I started the program. cheers tev

Yeah, thanks. I have adjusted the profile so I can have 1500 calories which, with exercise, seems about right. I'll see how it goes and fine tune in a week or two if things start going awry. I've cut out all crisps, chocolate/sweets and booze, so those alone must make some difference! I calculated about 1300 calories a day…

I quite like the slimfast lunch. Quick and easy.

Yeah thanks, that may be a better approach to the whole thing. I'm 6ft and want to get back to a weight I was when I was in my early 20s. About 11.5 stone. I'm about 13 at the moment and can 'feel' the weight compared to what I used to weigh. tev

Thanks. My meals look duff as I haven't really got into a routine yet. I only started (again) this week. I'm happy with the slimfast at lunch, but do need a proper meal in the evenings.
