Last week, I somewhat met my goal of staying on track nutrition wise. During my stressful week I managed to stay on track and this is what I was primarily concerned about. However, on my camping trip over the weekend I didn't stress over what I ate at all and just enjoyed my last summer vacation. I am proud that I was able to conciously follow my decisions to not cheat and cheat last week.

This week I would like to bounce back from any weight gain over the weekend, and perhaps lose an additional pound over and above this.

Tonight I completed W4 D1 and for the first time since starting C25K, I ran on the road.

Before I felt: Nervous. W3 was tough already and tonight I added the new element of running outside.
During I felt: Suprised at how far I was getting and how quickly. Being able to see your distance rather than just in numbers adds a whole new fun element to the run. I also was very tired some moments...running for 5 min was tough...And I almost got hit by a car, so was feeling a little scared too.
After I felt: Accomplished. I can't believe that in the 32 min I made it 4.2 km or 2.61 miles. I know if I keep pushing myself like this I am going to complete 5K soon and will be able to start trimming back my time. I am very excited for my next run, no matter how tough it may be.

Hope everyone else is sticking to it and also achieving... even be it with difficulty.

did anyone have trouble going from week 3 to week 4
i struggled with week 3, but i could always get through it
today i tried to first day of week 4 and could barely get 2 minutes into the 5 minute run before my legs gave out and a stitch in my side forced me to walk
im extremely disappointed in myself becuase i really thought i could do it and i couldnt do it at all
would you guys advise me to repeat week 3 or to keep trying week 4?

    Kburks,
I just finished W4 D1 yesterday after finding W3 difficult too. So, hopefully I can give you some sound advice.
When I get stiches, and I did yesterday, I usually keep pushing through them. They gradually stop after a minute or so anyways. And as per those long 5 minute runs. Slow down if you need to, but keep going even it is at a slow jog. But, don't allow yourself to walk! It's amazing what we can push ourselves to do with determination.
I think you should keep pushing on with W4 as there is a method to this program that seems to work for a lot people. Just remember it's not a race, it's about building up your endurance.
Good luck and I hope this helps :)

    Post for Monday's:

My current weight (as of 8/15) is 138
My goal for this week: to get to run at least once - we're going on vacation and it might be tough to get it in!
This week I am going to focus on: Making the time even when my schedule is topsy turvy and we're in the car for 12 hours at a time, and then road-lagged...
I plan on achieving my goal this week by: not sure! I'm going tomorrow AM for my C25K Week 4 Day 1... Thursday though I will be on the road, and I'm not sure how I'll be able to get any workout in until after the 24th. Might be able to stop along the way and run at a rest area or something? Anyone have any ideas for keeping it up while traveling long distances with five small children in a car? And we've got a time crunch too, we're trying to get a visit in with my BIL before he's deployed. But I could probably do 15-20 minutes? That will give the kids time to stretch their legs too...

Alright :):):) So, I got up at 5:10am this morning to give working out in the morning a whirl.

Before: All I could think about was how cold I was.
During: Thinking OMG. This is SO much better than Sunday nights run. Only the last minute of the final 5 min run did I find very tough.
After: Thinking I am going to make a morning routine of running through the week. Mon-Friday I think I am going to practice that weeks C25K program. Saturday will be a rest day and Sunday gym. So, that means I'll continue doing W4 for the rest of this week. But, will update everyone on the rest of the weeks progress Sunday? I'm pretty sure this is when hzminda tells us to put up our update for the week.

Anyways, I am on a running high right now. Lets just say morning runs, outside, have really kicked this up a notch ;)

    Hi everyone!

Completed Week 3/Day 1 yesterday! Didn't have time to check the thread yesterday. So busy at work!

My current weight (as of 8/16/11) is 164.
My goal for this week: complete Week 3
This week I am going to focus on: completeing week 3 and feeling strong!
I plan on achieving my goal this week by: going do W3/D2 tomorrow at 5:30 am as we have plans night. Hoping I don't feel like a zombie!

Before I felt: couldn't wait to start week 3 - very anxious!

During I felt: felt great - except my new sock were not so great. They kept sliding down my heel and the rubbing of my sneaker gave me a little blister. Will probably not use those!

After I felt: I was shocked when my phone app said "cool down" - I flew by! Don't get me wrong - I was sweaty and the back of my right heel was smarting, but I totally went thru feeling strong! I felt a real feeling of accomplishment! I CAN do this!

Not sure what to expect tomorrow morning. Last time I ran at 5:30 am I felt really sluggish! I'm so NOT a morning person! Trying to stay positive because I would really like to be able to run first thing - ya know - get it out of the way!

Hope everyone has a great week! Will post again tomorrow sometime! :flowerforyou:

Completed Week 6 day 1 yesterday. Before I was annoyed because I was late getting to the gym and the treadmills I really like were all taken, but I was also excited to run because I had a stressful day. I got through the workout, I tried to up my pace so I was very sweaty and tired after haha. I'm looking forward to this week and hoping that I will be able to complete week 7 as scheduled since I will be on the road all week on my way back to school!

    Mornin everyone!

    Week 3/Day 2 - COMPLETED!

Before - I really couldn't sleep last night because I planned to wake up at 5:30 am to run. I tossed and turned and got up at 5:20 am!

During - still not a morning person! Felt very sluggish  during the run - was not up to pace thru the whole thing, but I did complete the intervals without deviation.

After - happy to be done! Thinking that this might get easier to run in the am as the weight comes off. As of today I'm not a happy morning runner..... yet!

Have a good day MFP's!

    W4D2 completed.
I was surprised that I struggled more in W3 than W4. I did get tired and wanted to quit but I kept it moving and actually ran more than 5 minutes at a time.

Felt great running today! Actually ran 2 extra minutes since this week seemed a little less longer and I felt so sluggish the other morning! Looking forward to Week 4.

    Hey Everyone!

I am back from my vacation, which was lovely!

While on vacation I tried keeping up with C25K, but was unable to complete Week 4. I give props to all of you who are doing this running program on hills at steep inclines! I tried and I just could not do it, I am from FL, so it is pretty flat here.

I will still be posting week 5 - C25K running group thread tomorrow for those of you who have kept up with the program spot on :]

It is good to be back!

So the last run of week 4 was amazing!! I really can't wait to get started with week 5. I love early morning runs. So few cars, nice cool air. And running outside is so much better than running at the gym.

This week I half way acheived my goal. I did lose the weight I gained while camping, but I didn't lose an extra pound over and above that. Largely because I decided to treat myself a bit this weekend. But, I am going to make up for it by dropping 2 pounds this week. And if I am REALLY lucky, breaking into the 180s :):):) Good luck with your weeks everyone. I'll post on W5, soon!

First morning run in the rain: W5 D1

    Before: Nervous excitement
    During: Surprise
    After: Disappointment?

Honestly the progression of this program must be working, because I was expecting to be exceptionally challenged today and wasn't? For me, this week seems to be about the same as last week if not a bit easier? I'll keep on with W5, but something tells me that it is not going to stand in my way of W6 at all.

i did week 4 day 2 today (i ended up having to repeat it this week) it was so hard!!! i definitely pushed myself harder today than i ever have
before i felt nervous because i knew how tough it was going to be
during i felt awful, my muscles seized up and i had to stop and walk more than i wanted to
after i felt nice to have completed it, but i kind of have the attitude that if i can't do the whole things without stopping to walk, even if its just for 30 seconds, then I've failed and my workout doesn't "count"
i know this is ridiculous but its just the attitude i have when i run, I'm trying really hard to just be proud that I'm out there pushing myself

    W4D2 Done! - 285 cals burned.

Before: really didn't want to do it. Felt tired from school.

During: started off good, but then my calves were on FIRE during the first 3 minute jog.

After: Could barely walk/move my legs for awhile. Felt accomplished though!

I can't believe that next week is W5!

W5 D3 Completed. Yes, I did it. The infamous 20 min run!

Before: I felt confident that no matter how tired and out of breath I got, I was not going to let myself walk.
During: Had both strong and hard moments. Any time there was a bit of an elevation my breathing got more labored but, I pushed through.
    After: Excited and accomplished.

I completed it without stopping to walk at a cool average of 6mph :) W6 coming up!
