  • I regained 35 of of the 50lbs I lost last year (in less than 6 months) due to drinking. I can't do it in moderation (I'm an alcoholic) so I'd drink close to a day's worth of calories (easier to do than you'd think, my drinks were about 250 calories each) AND eat on top of it....plus I'd eat stuff I normally wouldn't and in…

  • Caffeine definitely has no appetite suppressing or energy effect on me...I wish it did tbh. I could drink a mt dew and go straight to bed so Idk what suppresses my appetite but something does
  • I don't believe any magic pill makes weight fall off but to me that's not what you're asking. At the end of the day we each have to choose to eat less and/or move more....but can something help? I say yes. If anyone wants to say otherwise I'm cool with that. If they want to say it's placebo effect...Maybe it is but if it…
  • Oh haha I forgot I'm not in the no judgment thread anymore...now I'm really glad I censored myself lol

  • Amen....burpees can kiss it (I seriously edited what I wanted to say cuz it might say no judgement but I know better)

  • I refuse to do any type of jumping Jack or burpee type exercise bcuz when I do my butt cheeks make this weird/awkward/embarassing (even if I'm alone) "flapping" sound :(
  • Starvation mode is a myth. If you're eating 1500 cal you're not starving. As long as you're eating at a deficit you'll lose weight. If you exercise you want to eat enough to fuel your exercise but still remain in a deficit. I think you're just over thinking it.
  • Yeah a single serve bag of regular chips are pretty close to the same calories. Doritos for example 140 calories per bag. I like the 100 calorie bags of popcorn (I prefer kettle corn but they have butter too). Eat whatever you will enjoy that will keep you from bingeing later due to feeling deprived of what you really want.
  • I eat Dean's 1% cottage cheese it has 90 cals and 12g of protein, Dannon Light and Fit greek yogurt has 80 cals and 12g of protein, Weight watcher light string cheese 50 cals and 6g protein...you can always go the protein bar or protein drink route as well just keep an eye on calories and sugar because some are high in one…

  • Poppycock haha I love it
  • What do you have to lose...pun intended  I am an alcoholic so I attend AA and I firmly believe the 12 steps can help anyone. We all have areas of our life where we feel powerless and that make our lives unmanageable. Having other people that can understand, relate to and support your specific struggle can be a great…

  • It is a matter of personal preference but a lot of people look more at the overall calories for the week rather than each day individually but in terms of the software it is going to track it for you daily...nothing "rolls over" from one do to the next. I think with the new premium option you can change your goal daily if…
  • My favorites are weight watchers lite string cheese 50 cal and 6g protein, Dannon light and fit greek yogurt 80 cal and 12g protein and Dean's lowfat cottage cheese 90 cal and 12g protein. Of course protein bars are always an option as well but two yogurts provide as much protein as the bar I used to eat and the yogurt IMO…
  • From Dec 1 to March 1 I lost 6lbs...slower than normal but didn't gain.
  • My only suggestion is don't spend the day with a growling stomach in order to lose 6 pounds. Unless you are planning to live with a growling stomach for a lifetime this is not a solution either. Will there be times you feel hungry and your stomach growls? Yes but it should not be a constant and it's not a sustainable…
  • I really enjoyed the first BL challenge I did and it's a great way to stay motivated and meet other like minded encouraging people!
  • IMO err on the side of caution and use lightly active so that if you have a week you are not as active it won't hinder your weight loss. That's a fairly big difference in the calories it suggests between the two and if you are more active you can eat back part of your exercise calories.
  • I love sweets too but I've found some reasonable alternatives that do the trick for me. One favorite is Fiber One 90 calorie brownies. I think they are seriously good not like just "good enough" to get by. Another favorite (but a little more costly calorie wise) is Weight Watchers cookie dough ice cream sundae. They are…
  • Tell her you're allergic to raspberries ;)
  • Morning is going to give you the most accurate/consistent reading because presumably if you use the restroom and weigh before you eat/drink anything you are getting your actual weight reading. If you did it later in the day you would have variations every single day just from whatever amount you had eaten or drank prior to…
  • My advice is just do it...you can't accomplish anything without taking the first step. Most of us didn't have any energy in the beginning but unfortunately if you don't take care of yourself and eat better/move more you will continue to have no energy. The only way to get it is to work on yourself. Do what you can, strive…
  • Totally agree with this, I feel like people inwardly do a little victory dance if they can "get me" to eat something that I normally wouldn't...it makes them feel better about what they're doing.
  • I do this too! Mentally in my mind I'm like "yes!! I'm hungry!" lol sounds kinda crazy but it's like a mini victory to not eat every single time I feel a little hunger.
  • I leave for work at 7:15am and don't get home until 7-8pm so it's not real "crazy" hours but I'm gone a lot. My son is 2.5 and I've found that by the time we get home and eat, get a bath, chill a little or whatever there isn't much time left so I understand. I've forced myself to exercise anyway. 90% of the time I exercise…
  • Not to hijack but I'm starting to wonder about this myself. I have had issues with constipation for a while now (off and on for at least 2 months). I started taking colace daily 1 in the morning and 2 at night, taking bisacodyl (which has stimulant) every other day and I've had miralax the last 3 days...still nothing. I'm…
  • Yep you don't need to exercise to lose weight. It is all calories in calories out. If you are eating at a calorie deficit you will lose weight. Exercise just makes it easier to create a deficit because you burn calories creating a larger deficit than what you'd have if you just ate less.
  • IDK specifically "how" I guess but I know Vismal (wish we could tag people here) eats 3500ish calories a day because he is bulking. Since I'm nowhere near that I don't know how it works but I know it can be done. I assume between the muscle burning calories at rest plus exercise CICO still applies
  • Eating 5lbs of food (as in the weight of the food itself) is not the same as gaining 5lbs. You would have to eat 17,500 calories OVER maintenance to gain 5lbs. I don't believe there is any chance you could do that in one day. It's water and it will probably be gone as quickly as it came don't let it derail you.
  • We have stuff where I work ALL the time and most of it is not healthy stuff. I typically know about it ahead of time so if it's something I want then I plan ahead and save calories for it so I can fit it into my goals. A lot of the time I either have a very small amount or I just pass on it entirely. Only you can decide…
