I am a college student with absolutely no time to work out, if anything i will just go for a walk but I barley even have time for that. Is counting calories going to help me loose weight even if I'm not working out?

Yep you don't need to exercise to lose weight. It is all calories in calories out. If you are eating at a calorie deficit you will lose weight. Exercise just makes it easier to create a deficit because you burn calories creating a larger deficit than what you'd have if you just ate less.

Yes. However, if you want to workout, you can find short workouts on youtube or if you have a smart phone download a 7 min workout app.

I am counting calories and not exercising and I am losing weight, at least so far. I do try to run around with my kids a bit each day, usually soccer drills or a game of catch in the front yard. But really, that's minimal as compared to a "workout" as most people would define it.

Also, I agree with shadow2soul: you can move around if you want to...everybody has 10 extra minutes in a day somewhere. You found a few minutes to post this. ;)

You can even do short spurts during commercials watching your favorite show (or even during the show). A "workout" doesn't have to mean kettlebells and Spandex. Your body doesn't know or care that you didn't spend $450 on a tricked-out bike. Moving more than you used to, is moving more than you used to. Your body isn't going to refuse to let go of weight because you did it taking the stairs rather than the elevator and therefore it wasn't "real" exercise. Well, you get the point. :D

Yes you can lose weight without working out but the results will usually be faster with exercise and you will look better with exercise.

As for being "too busy"...no such thing. It is not a priority with you which is perfectly ok but don't use the too busy excuse. I have five kids, work two jobs and spend hours every winter watching my kid play on the high school basketball team. Yet I still find time to work out. It is a priority for me. I get up at 5 am and am at the gym every day by 5:15. It means I have to lay everything out the night before, including the kids' lunch boxes. Again, no judgment...exercise does not have to be a priority for everyone, but the no time thing is an excuse.

A calorie deficit is all that you need to lose weight. Exercise helps you by maintaining fitness agility and strength.

A calorie deficit is all that you need to lose weight. Exercise helps you by maintaining fitness agility and strength.

It also helps your mind function better, reduces stress, improves your sense of well being, and causes you to feel less hungry. You can lose weight without exercise, but you're better off if you do exercise.
