I do aikido as well.. Three mornings a week. Small world.

I set my profile to sedentary (even though I am lightly active) then I eat all my exercise calories back using a heart rate monitor. I had it set to lightly active and eating all calories back and weight loss stalled.

fitnessblender is so awesome!

You need easily digested carbs before working out not protein.

Made this yesterday, I think I used a little too much yogurt. The batter looked way too thick so I added some almond milk. I also smashed up a half banana. I think between the yogurt and banana the inside would not set up, so it was mushy inside. Tasted amazing though. Going to try it again this morning and chop the…

pumpkin turkey chili. you do not taste the pumpkin at all. It gives it great richness and dimension. http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Pumpkin-Turkey-Chili/Detail.aspx?soid=carousel_0_rotd&prop24=rotd

My first 15 pounds came off quick, then it stalled for 3 weeks and did not change. I increased calorie intake and the weight loss started immediately again. I was set to 1 lb a week but I only have maybe 6 pounds to go, so then is when I realized I needed to be eating more. Even after increasing the intake the weight loss…

You can strain and dry it a bit if it is too wet. I just made this last weekend with homemade turkey meatballs and home made sauce. It was amazing! Also I find it is better if you put the sauce around the squash, rather then mix it in before serving.

It depends what kind of yogurt you are eating. I do Fage 2% it has 20 grams of protein. Most yogurts come in smaller packages and only have 10 grams. One serving of granola is a good ratio for 1 cup of yogurt.

everyday I weigh myself. It is important to see what effects the weight...vacation, drinking, things like that.

I would say its hard to weigh it dry if you are making something for a few people. You could weight it before then weigh it after and do the math and measure what you take.

waiting to eat when you get hungry slows your metabolism down. the key is to keep your metabolism up and never become hungry so it trains your body to not go into starvation mode. I eat mine back, but use a heart rate monitor so it is accurate. Working out lets me have that desert or beer I want at the end of the day.

that looks gross, got to be around 5000 or so

Check out Zephyr heart rate monitors they make some bluetooth and long range ones. http://zephyranywhere.com/

FYI I just got a heart rate monitor and I find that the calories I burn are less then the range they give. So careful guessing your calorie burn if you are eating back the calories. If you are unsure I would pick the lower number and cut it in half to be safe and eat those back. Polar FT4 $60…

I also just started round 1 today. I also skipped the fitness challenge. Day 1 was pretty easy but you can adjust it to make it more difficult. Instead of the stepping in place, you can jog or even do jumping jacks. I got a heart rate monitor today so I am excited to see where I fall within their calorie burn range…

why not ditch the whey and go to plant or hemp protein. Very easy on the stomach.

Looking at your diary you are taking in a lot of sugar and carbs, mostly from the processed foods and flavored yogurts. Some days you had 1000 calories left to eat! Be consistent and pay attention to your macros and I think you will do fine. You have come so far! Congrats! Are you hungry throughout the day? Keep that…

I just saw the Americas Test Kitchen episode on soft boiled eggs. And they tested over 1000 eggs with different methods! The steaming way is the best because steam stays at a consistent temperature whereas boiling water fluctuates when you put the eggs in.

Just mixed up my first shake with almond milk and a few ice cubes. The shake is pretty thick, taste pretty good. Some grittiness on the lips but tolerable. Having it for the main part of my lunch, so we will see how it holds how and makes me feel.

I just ordered the sample packs from this site today. Pretty low in calorie and high in protein. http://simplyprotein.com/products I found that wild black rice has as much protein as quinoa does. Protein shake with some greek yogurt will get you 30-40 grams

Trader Joe's applewood smoked bacon is THE BEST EVER! I have been making chicken cutlet roulade stuffed with artichoke hearts and a little parmesan cheese with bacon strips on top. Sooooo good.

Are you doing interval training on the elliptical? It is more effective to do intervals then to do a constant pace on the elliptical, you will burn more calories and tone your muscles quicker.

how about some good old Ovaltine, low in calories, has some sugar and carbs.

I cut up the veggies and put them in separate containers or zip locks. This keeps the salad dry, and is enough to last the whole week.
