03/02 10k recovery run Paris Half Marathon just around the corner... Kick-off for the triathlon season goodness :)
-
Hello! Todo list is actually down one: swam/ran my first Aquathlon this morning ("sprint" distance, 1k swim + 5k run). It was fun but running around soaked, in swimming boxers, is kind of a weird experience, also it was a bit chilly outside... Anyway, makes me want to give triathlon a shot as well ;) Have a great day!

Hey Lemurcat, you're gonna be fine! Just rest until saturday now. I actually did part of my training at the pool after going through a foot injury in january and part of february. Longest I ran at training was about 9 miles, and cross-trained at the gym a bit too. Wasn't at my best for the big day but still enjoyed it.…

Haven't been around much lately but still here! So I ran the Half Marathon in Paris last sunday: awesome race with a beautiful near-spring weather. I ran the 21.1k in exactly 2 hours, not really a world record but still very happy to make it to the finish line without stopping and it's all that counts for my first go on…

So, I'm back from my interval training in one piece :) @Kenda, though the performance hit is very real, the feeling wasn't that bad, somewhat like the feeling from the first day skiing at high altitude, losing breath quicker than usual and such. Sort of a slight headache as well, and I very rarely have any. Roughly I'd say…

My wife's "Valentine present" to me two years ago was my son! So we'll be celebrating that tomorrow! :) Goals for this afternoon are to get out and run under the rain, the half-marathon is in less than a month now... That said, I think I made a terrible mistake... I gave my blood yesterday figuring it would take only a day…

Congrat's NikonPal! Quite the inspiration for all of us here! I was thinking last night, when carrying my 50lb 6-year-old daughter from the couch to her bed, that I used to carry that extra weight all day long, every single day.... Similarly, in your case, it's as if you where carrying a 6'2 man 24/7... you must feel so…

Still here. Doing fine calorie-wise but foot injury isn't really healing... hope it gets better so I can get back to running... Not looking good though, had a major car accident 12 years back with permanent damage. Somehow managed to run for several months with no pain at all but I may have to reconsider my options... For…

Hi everyone! Haven't commented in awhile but still here since the last challenge ;) Tons of stuff to do at work, and it's been pretty wild here in Paris lately... Anyway, I managed to go through the holidays with little to no damage at all to my progress (nearly 50lb lost in 4 months). Actually I managed to lose a few…

Hi! Yesterday was my last race of 2014: I ran a 10km in 53'30'', much much better than a couple of months ago :) It was freezing though, with a vicious windchill, so today I'm going to take it easy and enjoy christmas break with wife and kids. I signed up for 2 half marathons in 2015, Paris in march and Amsterdam in…

Today, after a long week at work and a 11k-run under a cold, pouring rain, my only rule for tonight is 100% pleasure. So I cooked a 2 pound prime beef rib with a "gratin dauphinois" and opened a nice bottle of Bordeaux 2010. Logged my 1600cal dinner and called it a day :) Luckily, still made it pretty close to my MFP…

4lb down since last weigh-in, only 2lb left to reach the goal. But then starts the holiday temptations...
-
LOL! I too would've happily logged this morning's weigh-in, one of those weird dips that usually jumps back up the next few days :) Today went running an intense interval training and kind of got lost in the woods (ahhh runners high got me!)... ended up doing 13k instead of the planned 10k, with 1300+ burned by the time I…

Today is my own personal 100-day milesone since I started this journey on september 1st! Pretty happy with the results so far, here are a few stats over the last 14weeks: 36,8 lb lost BMI drop from 31.2 to 26.3 average calorie intake: 2027cal/day average calorie burn: 3262cal/day => average calorie deficit: 1236cal/day + a…

Had a pretty good week, with regular running every other day. It's getting cold and running at night after work requires extra motivation. But it's definately worth it. Keeping focused on the next race right after xmas. Yesterday was a burn-near-400cal day so I treated myself to a "raclette" :) Have a nice week-end…

Well losing chunks of weight in itself is a pretty good motivation to keep on going. But since we're talking net deficit here, I find it much easier/pleasant to reach the deficit by burning MORE than by eating LESS. I wouldn't last a week eating 1200cal/day, but add in 800cal of total exercise calories (fitbit+"real"…

Great race this morning under a beautiful sky and sun, especially for the season. Was hoping to wrap the 5miles in 50min (okay, 48min in my wildest dreams...) and actually finished in 45min! Not that great for a regular runner but amazing for me. The rest of the day was mostly dedicated to relaxing my legs and savoring…

Today I ate maintenance calories, gathering energy to run a race tomorrow morning. This is only my second race since I started running last summer so I'm pretty excited. Drank a lot of water too. It's only a 5mile race, not really longer than regular training, but I feel like I need to fuel up anyway. Good week-end to…

Thanks for the tip, it beats pulling out the dremel each time and it probably looks better. Anyway, I guess I'll have to buy a few "transition" clothes sooner or later... :) Congrat's on your weight loss too, pretty impressive!
-
Having clothing issues, everything now looks too baggy for my taste... and I don't wan't to buy new clothes yet before I reach maintenance weight. Found an old pair of jeans from a decade ago that fits perfectly though. I keep punching holes in my belts but have to start over after a few weeks... Never thought I'd have to…

Didn't do very well during the week-end... lack of moderation on food especially after a few glasses of wine... On the other hand, I've been sticking to my running plan even though the weather isn't very encourageing lately... So all in all, not too bad of a week with a decent weight loss. Signed up for a race next sunday,…

Ran twice this week but had friends over for dinner and ate back most of the burned calories... Today was OK, I took some time to walk to the mall at lunch time and stayed below calories. Starting to feel a slight backache, probably from running as i'm still quite heavy... may have to give it a rest for a few days, or at…

So happy the week is over and just finished a 1000+ calorie run, feels great! :)

I was on the market for a running watch and ended up buying a polar M400 a few days ago, so when Fitbit finally announced the Surge this week, at first I was full of doubt and regret... But on second thought: what i love about my Fitbit One is it's tiny size and stealth, I don't want to wear a huge watch for daily activity…
-
Phil, you mean even if you're wearing your One it will estimate the steps from the gps track instead? Any chance this could be a time zone issue? I took a 37 minute walk at lunch with the new updated app (on a nexus 5 android 4.4.4) and didn't notice anything sketchy, but didn't do a serious back to back comparison.…
-
Didn't get to walk much in the daytime this week, very busy at work... But went running twice after work, on monday and today. Tried out the new Polar M400 I just received :)
-
Same here, "rest" day with the kids, staying under calorie limit.
-
Weighed in this morning on a loss, yay! NSV: noticed my watch is starting to feel a little loose lately :) Today is swim day so went swimming 1h / 2km after work.
-
Didn't do much exercise today... quite busy at work, got only 7500 steps in, but ate accordingly. Plan on going running tomorrow evening though.
-
Pretty rough monday... have sore legs from running sunday so didn't go running today. Went walking instead - got 12000+ steps in - and stayed below calorie target. Slight weight increase this morning from eating over the week-end, gotta catch up this week...
