Hi, When I used a flex I used to log all exercise on MFP just make sure you get your times right then fitbit will not double count. I found the results a bit high so I started logging all activity on endomondo which was sync'd to fitbit this I found far more accurate. I now have the surge which is great because it takes…

Polar H7 for me uses low frequency Bluetooth which syncs with my I phone without any issue, I use Endomondo fitness app which calculates everything gps, calories, fluid lost etc etc They also work with all the gym equipment in my gym got mine off flea bay for about £40 if you don't have a smartphone you can get a polar…

Thanks everybody, excellent advice (as usual) Guess the way is to have a conversation with myself whilst running to ensure I can string sentences together, should be interesting for passers by, especially as I have my music on loud - once again thanks for the advice Reevsie

Hi, When I walk I just let fitbit tell MFP what I have burnt. When I do cardio I log the exercise on the fitbit site as I find it gives a more accurate calorie burn. I only log food on MFP as long as you tell fitbit what time you perform cardio it does not double count Hope that helps

40g rolled oats 6g pumpkin seeds 6g flaked almonds Table spoon Flax seeds Tea spoon Chia seeds 5 g raisins 200 ml almond milk - eaten cold after a 5 minute soak
-
I think I eat more using MFP as if it's within my allowance I can eat it, if I had no idea where I was I would not treat myself or if I did I would feel guilty
-
Thank you everybody, looks like I am not far off, your advise is much appreciated.

I use both, the HRM will be more accurate, my fitbit helps me stay motivated, it also depends on what you plan to do, if walking the dog is your main exercise then the fitbit is good, if you are using cardio equipment or running etc then the HRM is essential. I log food on MFP and exercise on fitbit as i have found it more…

45g of Jordan's granola I then add flaked almonds, pumpkin seeds, cranberrys and flex seed add to 70ml of almond milk 1 multi vitamin with iron & my daily cod liver oil tablet I eat after my morning workout as I can't face it before, I train at 06:30 and eat at 7:30 - keeps me going until lunch

I am 5"8 my mate at work is 6"7 - we look a bit daft when standing next to each other and spend most of our time insulting each other. I always say look at dogs, big dogs die young little ones live longer - you don't see many 6 foot pensioners ! I have no scientific proof it's just a good response to his insults. Both my…

Same here, me and the wife always used to battle with the thermostat now we both like it warm, the drinking has amazed me 6 months of no alcohol and a new weight of 144 has left me unable to drink more than 3 pints without getting drunk as the proverbial parrott - what's all that about, the only good news is I can have a…

I am in the gym at work every morning at 6:30 for my 30-40 minute workout, I enjoy exercise at weekends, although I must admit on dark cold mornings I could quite easily stay in bed. I intend to think of the extra calories I can eat later, once I am there and changed its no problem, unfortunately you just have to make it a…

I was rubbish at running only 10 months ago, I use a treadmill due to dodgy pavements and roads where I live, I did a lot of walking increasing the incline, then I did a bit of jogging in between walking slowly jogging for a bit longer, going from 5mph to 6mph to now I run at 7mph, can't say how I did it it just got…

Mine says I got up at 11:30 this morning - I wish ! Over 3 hours out, it's been a bit patchy for the last week or so Hope they get it sorted soon

Treadmill every time for me, incline 2 controlled environment I-Pad on covering time elapsed and away I go No uneven pavements, kerbs, cars, fumes, pedestrians - and you can do it in whatever clothing you chose. If you live in beautiful countryside and can run during the day then I can see the attraction, however, for me…

We are booked in the QM2 in November. Cunard do not have a maximum luggage allowance just no single case over 22 kg You can pay for tips up front which we find better than keep faffing around with tipping, they also do a drinks package, you need to be a serious drinker to get your money's worth. We don't drink that much so…

I have had the flex for a couple of months & find it pretty accurate, every now and again it goes a bit mad painted my deck and got 3000 steps ! When I am doing DIY and building work I put it in my pocket which works reasonably well. I only eat back about 50% of what I earn that way I know I am within tolerance of any…

Welcome, There is lots of valuable advice on here which will help you understand the best way forward, my tips would be the following 1. It took you years to put on the weight so don't expect to lose it all overnight 2. Don't lie in your food diary you are only lying to yourself 3. Weigh all your food it's the only…

Mine sync fine Same as others I set mine on sedatry and let my flex adjust upwards. Had it about a month now and really like it, I feel guilty when I don't do enough so it works as an incentive for me Would be lost without it now

I actually prefer the treadmill, found watching my I pad really difficult running outside  Seriously - I watch music videos which makes the time fly, don't have to worry about kerbs and cars, proberbly depends where you live. UK weather sucks most of the time and I live in a town so treadmill it is for me !

I used to get loads especially after exercise, when I was in the states I spoke with a pharmacist she diognosed dehydration as one of the biggest factors, I went in for tablets, came out on her recommendation with 4 bottles of Gatorade, she told me not to overdose on the stuff or you get the squits ! Since then I always…

I have been wearing the flex for 2 weeks, seems pretty accurate although today I painted my decking and logged 5000 steps - note to self put it on the wrist holding the tin not the one holding the brush apart from that I find it inconspicuous, the dashboard is excellent. Not sure what people expect for £79 Wifey has the…

I'll need some information first Just the basic facts Can you show me where it hurts? There is no pain you are receding A distant ship's smoke on the horizon You are only coming through in waves Your lips move But I can't hear what you're saying :glasses:

Comfortably numb !

Every Saturday once I have completed my 10k run - yes I know it's proberbly a bit out due to sweat but I guess as long as you do it every week it still shows any weight change

Been using the flex for about a week, syncs well with MFP and offers a more accurate calorie record rather than just a generic target. The adjustments change throughout the day so be careful if you have a busy morning it will record extra calories that will reduce if you then take it easy in the afternoon too late if you…

It's not a lot different to all those rubber charity bands, you can get different colours although new they only come in black or slate, the biggest problem is people asking what it is Only had it a week it's waterproof and like everything you get used to it and I am guaranteed not to lose the damn thing

I count everything but hey there are no rules if it works for you carry on

Just got a fitbit flex and I must admit I have found it really good, I run it in conjunction with MFP and it works really well. It's early days so can't be certain but everything syncs really well. It's great getting a proper calorie count. MFP normally allows me 1600 cals per day today I played netball with the girls at…
