Welcome every one! I will try and get us started each day to post our trials, tribulations or just fun stuff! Flippy1234, I live in Florida so bathing suit season nearly year round! It is definitely motivation but still not easy sometimes! Englishmuffin - hello fellow runner!! Love kayaking too! There is a place I can go 3…

We can just keep this thread going instead of creating a group! I am 53 but act like 20s/30s sometimes LOL! Sometimes I feel old (more due to menopause LOL!) I don't feel old in my thought processes! A little about me.. 53 married (2nd time around), no 2 legged kids but 4 4-legged ones! Used to live in PA but we hated the…

Just bumping this up in case it got missed with MFP being down a good bit yesterday! :)

I exercise 6 days a week regardless... Our social events are parties, going out to dinner, etc... hard to prelog when you don't know what is being served, how it is made, etc. Most of the restaurants we go to are local and don't have nutritional info on line... The eating reasonably part is one I can and should do but…

I sabotage in a different way... once I start seeing success on the scale I tend to backslide into old eating habits.

Great read!! But when you have social events every weekend through New Years it is tough not to gain more than just a pound or 2 and yes tracking consistently would help but I know when I am spending time with friends/family, I am not sitting there with my phone taking the time to log.

This "diet" has been around forever... yeah I have done it and lost weight and then I did it another time and did not lose weight. I prefer counting my calories, eating whatever I want within my macro goals and no have the yo yo effect of dieting.
-
18% body fat... probably not even when I was born LOL!

I know one day won't cause the damage it is just that we have social events almost every weekend up through New Years. I do eat at more of a deficit during the week to help counteract but that does not always work and I also need to be properly fueled for my workouts.

Okay, starting the month at 148.8...

Hi! Looking for some support of us women of a certain age! I hope it is not too hard to keep up with posts. About me... 53 years old and in the throws of menopause, no period since February... Hope it is done for good. Had a really bad 2 years stress/health wise. My mom passed away February 2017. I still miss her terrible.…

My problem is, especially Thanksgiving Day.. I want all the food and more!
-
I need to track because I could range from being drastically under calories to drastically over especially under in regards to protein which I know is important. I follow flexible dieting but make sure I meet my protein goals most of the time.

Thank you all for the very helpful answers... I don't know if I would call myself lean (as I have a menopausal belly going on) but I feel the rest of me is verging on lean. Perhaps I will post a pic in a day or so when it is time for my progress pics, but I think I will do recomp and go from there. Now can someone answer…

I run a turkey trot every year day of Thanksgiving... It used to be a 5 miler but this year only a 5K but better than nothing! My workouts are always on point... it is the food and booze that get me derailed!

Well there are also tons of other holiday events this time of year, several Xmas parties, etc... so the holiday season is more than just a day or so. Also, although it may be summer for you, it may not be for many. I live in Florida so almost always summer but you cannot out run a bad diet!

Hello all! Well lets get this going! About me... 53 y/o, married, mom to 4 furbabies, 2 cats, 2 dogs, live in Palmetto, FL. I work out 6 days per week, 3 lifting, 3 running. The exercise part I have down. The food part, well lets just say when I don't have control of creating the food I don't track it! I tend to cut…

No keto here! I count macros! Protein, carbs and fat! Love it all!
-
You can add me if you like... I am on the second half of my 20 pounds to lose... about 10 to go! 53 y/o here, menopausal (not fun!), runner, weight lifter, dog and cat mom! :)
-
Macros are great because nothing is off limits as long as it fits your number!

I have struggled with my weight most of my life. Typical yoyo dieter here, fad dieter, etc.... I have been as low as in the 120s in my younger years (but through starvation diets) to as high as 180s. Currently hovering in the low 150s. Discovered IIFYM about a year or so ago and when I adhere to it, it works great for me.…

I don't have much to lose (maybe 10 pounds) but I am also going through menopause (53 years old) and hypothyroid on NP Thyroid. Willing to offer support if you like!

Macros and hitting the weights are key!! Although I am a runner and won't give up my 3 day a week runs. I just alternate that with the weight days! The scale may not be moving much for me but the tape measure is and my body is changing in a good way. I had a rough year with 3 surgeries in 3 months, the second of which was…

Not an active group... last update I see was 2017

How long does it take you to do a workout? I don't have microplates. Home gym... cannot really afford to invest anymore into it right now.
-
I am currently doing strong lifts but having trouble advancing weights and I figured I would go back to more reps less weight for a bit.
-
Curious what you walk/run/walk intervals are. Thinking of doing this for marathon training. Right now, because of the heat in Florida, I walk when I feel the need but nothing set.

Where is everyone?? I am still plugging away... cut back a little on my run distance... this week did two 4 mile runs so far. The plantar fasciitis issues are odd this time around, it waxes and wanes. I actually felt it a little bit during my run but not after... Never stopped running the first time around having it so not…

My PF is caused more by calf issues. I have an active release treatment scheduled for next week with my chiropractor. I pretty much do all of the above regularly, even when not having PF symptoms. I really worked on my calves the other day and the discomfort seems to be gone.
