Not sure where this boy lives but in the U.S. his future, without intervention, would be of progressively worsening health issues. If alcoholism is an illness why shouldn't morbid obesity be as well? Problem is that obesity is gaining acceptance in our culture ...... When I was a teenager we had to strip for gym class and…

Yes ... And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad so I had one more for dessert.

True you can make it private. But why someone spends time "lurking" through another's food diary just to tell them what they think has lost their focus. Most of the "friends" on this site are here for inspiration ... not criticism.
-
I believe this is not the way to handle it. In fact .. you probably shouldn't be reading their food diaries unless invited or requested to do so. Wait to be asked. Much of what we think is "bad" is subjective and debatable by the so-called experts. What's important is moderation and awareness. If they're already on this…

I'm a dude .... We're out here. I tend to focus on calorie burn as a way towards my weight goals ... Frankly alot of these "friends" are rather shallow with all the 'way to goes'. Success to you .. you and only you can control your health and weight goals.

God .. What an idiot question.

My suggestion is that you engage the Community Board with questions/comments and see who responds and really interacts with you. Friend with them and take a serious interest in what they're up to in MFP. But just to ask for "friends" to send you "WTGs" a couple times a day I think is worthless and will get old soon.

My guess is that you're pushing it too hard if you're hobbling around. Fitness requires persistance but the quickest way to end any program is to get hurt or so sore that you stop working out. Discuss your "Day After" with your trainer. I would think he/she would make suggest some adjustments.

Not having to always scroll backwards through the calendar when I enter yesterday's food and exercise (which I do the following day).

Hubby is CORRECT! He's on your side. Stay off the knee for a day or more. Try some yoga or other non-impact workout. Some are much tougher than running.

Obviously no interest :[ Well Dude ... YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN. ALL GLORY TO YOU. GOING for 59:59 time ... on beach in Santa Monica Ca. HAPPY NEW YEARS to ALL MFPers!!!

Please describe the "woodchuck" ... thanks

If at all possible I'd try to get a second opinion about the Fibromyalgia. My wife was diagnosed with it but she seems to have less symptoms when she's not stressed-out. Diagnosing fibromyalgia is controversial.

Actually I'd agree with your boss. I think it would have been correct to wait and present it to her personally. It might have even been her "mea culpa" moment.

Gee .. I thought the last answer was the best until I saw this one! That said I think when eating those calories back I wouldn't rush it. You know you can have smaller meals more often ... try again in a couple hours.

Gee ... i saw the part about "drinking your way to weight loss" and got excited .... thinking you'd found the secret to enjoying brews while shedding unwanted flab .. silly me :[

If you can read a book during exercise, you are not doing it right :-) I kinda agree with this statement. But technically its not accurate. If your goal is PURELY calorie burn will burn more reading and (say recumbent bicycling) that just reading. Of course if you put the magazine down your workout will improve two-fold or…

Thanks all! Keep burning them cals!

Make sure you take all precautions .... that road I see on your pic looks pretty fast!. Personally I perfer the indoor variety for a burn although I am a bike mechanic. I use the real deal for getting around the community (like geting the mail). I am also a buddhist ... SGI variety. Good luck to you.

I've been with MFP off and on for a about 2 months now and it really is a different mindset. But I feel I finally catching on and I am getting better at managing my allocated calories. Exercise monitoring really helps me deal with craving (love the Newcastle Ale and now I budget for it). Started jogging again after 3 years…

You're better looking now.

I'd stop calling myself an addict. If you're an addict then we all are since everyone craves food when they think they are hungry ... only those with a true illness wouldn't seek food when they are hungry. The trouble is that our mind sometimes tricks us into thinking we are hungry when we really aren't. Instead ... like I…

Good luck. What I like about the site is that every night I have to account for my behavior and eating. That's when I sit down and enter my calories. Lately I have not been going over. YAY! Good luck to you!
