Oceanmelody, I'll definitely check-in here. It would be nice to see more activity. They don't make it very easy to have a group and make comments under a single thread, like other social media. FB has some semaglutide groups, but not specifically for seniors over 65-70. It makes a difference. Our needs are different than…

I just discovered this group, too. I have been on MFP for 10 years, but have been intermittent. I’m sad that the news feed went away. I will turn 72 next month and have finally reached a point where I have to get the weight off, as it has had an affect on my health. I am four days into my first week taking semaglutide.…

Yep, nocturnal eating syndrome. Pretty common.

I do an old WW recipe that is very easy and low carb. Take a small can of tuna, chop up an apple, slice a stalk of celery, add mayo. That's it! You can also add a few sliced grapes, shredded lettuce, or whatever else you want. I do this when I'm in a hurry and want something very simple.

There could be different reasons. Maybe too much salt in your diet? 137 is a good weight for most people. Someone who is a normal weight might find losing more weight hard. Maybe you have plateaued for a bit. It happens to all of us now and then. Don't be discouraged about messing up one or two days. Just continue on your…

I didn't use to pay much attention to macros, but I'm really working on maintaining a low-carb, protein-rich diet, so I have to pay attention. I know when I have oatmeal and a piece of fruit for breakfast that I am predominately eating carbs, so I make sure I don't go over the set goal and increase proteins for lunch or…

Nope, Covid added 15 extra pounds, but I'm am committed to losing them now and have made good progress. Plus, I needed to lose 15 pounds before Covid. So I have my work cut out for me. I just had to get into the right mindset and do it!

Once a week is probably often enough, for me. However, I sometimes do it twice a week. I tend to get discouraged if I'm not seeing any progress, so if I know I'm losing, I will weigh a couple of times a week to keep the motivation going.

I've had several brands but I find that Tillamook makes a good chocolate/peanut butter ice cream.

It might not have anything to do with metabolism, but people do slow down with age. Some of it is just being busy with your life and not making time to work out regularly. Some people get arthritis and other things that make working out painful. Back injuries, asthma...whatever. While these are not all good excuses, it is…

One should eat when their body is hungry. What and how much you eat is more important than when. Having a small to moderate breakfast that includes some protein is important for energy throughout the day. You don't have to eat your first meal of the day in the morning. Have it at noon, if you want. A mid-day snack could be…

Welcome back! I was just reading an article about a 100-year-old woman who is a competitive weight lifter. One is never too old to improve fitness.

I have tended to be a night eater, too. I sometimes lie in bed and feel like I can't go to sleep until I have a snack. This article I found was interesting. I don't fit this exactly, but share some of the symptoms.…

That is exactly what I do! I love the corn tortillas! They have a wonderful flavor. I also use just a small amount of meat and cheese, then heavy with the veggies and salsa. I just picked up some cauliflower tortillas and I can have two of them for around 130 calories. Haven't tried them yet, but they look good. I'm trying…

Yeah, sticking with the counting is hard! I get sick of weighing and measuring, but that is how to be accurate. Some things I know by heart and don't have to weigh, but I try to do it to keep from being inaccurate and then wondering why I'm not losing anything.

I don't know how new it is, but it was new to me. Taste Republic Cauliflower Linguini. It was delicious! Had alfredo with it and it was amazing.
-
I found cauliflower linguini noodles at the healthfood store and they are delicious. I honestly can't tell much difference. We had alfredo, turkey sausage, and the cauli linguini. They are low carb and I didn't feel deprived, at all. Very satisfying!

Thanks so much! I am excited about trying new foods. Tonight it was alfredo, turkey sausage, and cauliflower linguini (which was delicious, btw)! I have cauliflower tortillas, kelp noodles, and spaghetti squash. I've had the spaghetti squash and I like it.

Thank you! I'm hoping to lose this carb addiction. It is just so darn easy to say yes to a treat and think, "just this once", then the next thing I know I'm back to square one. I'm sure my weight loss plan will be a forever thing. I have weighed too much off and on all of my adult life. Looking and feeling good should be…

Love cukes! A slice in ice water is so refreshing!

I just deleted three!

The last two days it's telling me I'm not eating enough. Believe me that's actually making me happy. I have been too high in carbs for years, so now I am making a concentrated effort to follow a low carb diet. I'm not at all depriving myself, though. I'm just eating a lot of veggies. For lunch I made a lovely stir fry and…

Simple meal tonight. Salad with Bolthouse Bleu Cheese dressing, salmon patty, glass of wine.

Thank you! I will give it a try! It will be great with the zoodles or spaghetti squash noodles.
-
I'd love the recipe for the garlic parmesan sauce! I also love spaghetti squash. I have learned that it doesn't freeze and thaw all that well, so I try to keep it in the frig rather than freeze. Although, I know it would be fine added to a soup broth straight from the freezer. Thanks!

Dinner tonight: extra lean ground beef 3 oz cooked, zucchini noodles, shredded cabbage, red and green peppers, mushrooms, celery, and onion.

Weakness, confusion, ravenous hunger are symptoms of hypoglycemia. It isn’t the presence of protein so much as the absence of carbs that will cause that. Proteins take longer to metabolize while carbs are relatively quick. You may be waiting too long to eat and triggering a hypoglycemic response.
