  • My familiarity with Krav Maga is limited. To the best of my knowledge it is a true "mixed martial art" that uses techniques from several different styles of martial arts to effect rapid threat neutralization. IMHO any martial art that you choose to practice can be a great workout in addition to the physical, mental, and…
  • Same thing happened to me right after basic training. Dad was picking me up at the airport. Was the only Marine standing on the curb at 2 a.m. and he drove past me not once, not twice, but three times. He would have driven past a fourth until I stepped off the curb in front of the truck. Wish I would have had the sense to…
  • Not sure how awesome I am but feel free to add me if you like.
  • Many favorite foods there. Care to share the recipe. I will try it this week at home.
  • Sent the request, add me if you like!

  • I use Endomondo. It syncs with MFP, has multiple exercises, tracks your route with gps, gives split times, and is HRM compatible with a bluetooth HRM chest strap (sold separately). I am saving up for a new HRM chest strap as my old one just died. Not sure what if any of the above features are disabled in the free vs. pro…
  • 44 going on 22, add me if you would like.
  • Feel free to add me also. I do a wide variety of things from weight training, to running, to cycling/spin, yoga, and martial arts. I am always looking to hear new information and willing to share what I have learned over several years.
  • Stop worrying about a single number on a scale! Take body measurements, body fat, etc. Most times, despite a slight increase in weight not only will those numbers go down, but also your clothes will fit better (or be too big). And, you will feel stronger and better. If I only paid attention to the one number on the scale,…
  • First the spankings......and then the........................!
  • Feel free to add me, always working but will do my best to help with anything I can. Currently down 35lbs from start but been stuck at 255 forever (though my diet has suffered because of my new job). Would like to see 225. Send any questions or thoughts and I'll reply as soon as I can.
  • Running inside on a treadmill is a necessary evil. Setting the incline to 1-2 degrees more accurately reflects gravity and friction of running outside but it is still pure torture.
  • I also at least check in daily and will reply, though it may take me a day or two. Feel free to add me.

  • At work there is always "tons" of unhealthy food in the area. If someone offers me something and I decide I want it, I accept with a thank you. If I don't want it, I respond with "No thank you". If they do not have enough respect for that, I don't have enough respect for them to not see me trash it.
  • Well I am pretty far outside your age but have struggled my entire life. In that time I have learned a lot and am always willing to share and support. Feel free to add me.
  • Always open to more support. Feel free to add me.
  • As a few have said before, it's not really a diet, it is a lifestyle change. All too often we define diet as "a short term eating plan that is followed with the intent of losing weight quickly". Instead, we should define diet as our "lifestyle eating plan". When we define diet as a lifestyle eating plan it is no longer…
  • I'm always looking for a little more support and accountability. Feel free to add me.
  • Vanilla casein protein shake with frozen fruit and water to desired thickness. Or just the protein with water and a piece of fruit. Depending on what your calorie limit is that is as low as 150 but up to 250 calories.
  • Interested in this also. I use a HRM, sports tracker, and MFP when estimating calories burned during exercise. MFP is usually in the middle with the sports tracker estimating highest and HRM lowest.
  • I feel your pain. I too had a terrible cereal habit. I started by still enjoying cereal but just watching portions and type of cereal (healthier vs. less healthy). Then I started not allowing myself to eat after 2000 (8pm) with the exception of a casein protein shake and piece of fruit. So far it has worked for me. I have…
  • I regularly cycle and run outside. I have not been "attacked" in the purest sense of the word but I have been ran off the road, had bottles or other items thrown at me. So far no one has ever stopped to follow through. Not a fan of pepper spray as we have a lot of wind in this area. However, the suggestion for a .45 gets a…
  • Not too far away. Amarillo here. Outside in the heat and wind can sure be a pain. As big as I am, I am nothing more than a huge wind sock lol.
  • My wife bought one of those "Ninja" blenders and it works great. My smoothies are relatively straight forward. I use one serving of any "premium" (read "not cheap, unknown) vanilla flavored whey protein, one cup frozen fruit, and water to desired thickness. Tastes great, very low cal and great for running right out the…
  • Also, go find a "running" specific store where they can fit you and evaluate your stride and gait. While the zigs may be good shoes, they may not be good for you. It sucks because I cannot find a pair of shoes for under $125. But then, I am considered a "Clydesdale" in the running community requiring a high stability shoe…
  • Have been a practicing Judoka for the last 15 years and recently started adding Aikido in the mix. Love it and get cranky when I miss training.
  • Allllllrighty then! Welcome and look forward to the comedic chops!
  • Amarillo here.
