Don't head to the store when you are hungry. Stick to your list. Take pride in not accepting samples. You can do it! I love the lists you've been given and I agree with keeping changes minimal and gradual.

My knees prefer an Eliptical Trainer, but you may not have one at your gym. Also stretching...good advice.
-
Why can't you do both? Whatever works for you the best is the best for you.

We live in California and eat brown rice for our main starch, usually every night with dinner, but rarely alone. I was surprised to hear that anyone thinks it tastes nasty. We love it. Each to his own.

"I'll either find a way or make one." Good motto.

I love the combination of brain and brawn on this site. I think I will try a heart rate monitor. Thanks for the insights.

Thanks for all the good ideas. I'm going to look around for wood chopping and hiking. I'm sure that no one was trying to be mean, but some people really haven't done much in the way of manual labor. I haven't done Insanity for an hour, so I can't compare. I just know that I get sweaty, my heart beats harder than normal,…

I'm too busy. I walk and do a lot of manual labor. that's my workout.

This is a great question. I'm going to start a new string asking something similar.

I always use chicken thighs instead of chicken breasts. They taste better. :)
-
Thanks. I'll try it.

Excellent Idea. That 's what I just had for breakfast, with milk and apple, nuked until apple is soft. I use 30 second bursts. Now I'm full and warm and ready to start my day! I find that the less processed food is more filling, less expensive, and a lot less hassle. Enjoy!

Maybe you could turn the tables and ask why they have chosen to drink. Are they sad? Do they want to risk losing their self-control? Are they willing to go along with the mob mentality? Are they choosing to opt for short term pleasures rather than long term benefits? Are they choosing to ignore other risks from drinking…

This is great information. Thanks.

I love hearing about non-scale victories and this is a good one. It may be a dumb question, but are you doing pull ups?

That's very exciting. Thanks for sharing and uplifting me.

You're a real dad. We need more of them in America!

Amen. We all need to hear this every now and then.

Lord, we know that You are still in the miracle business. We're asking for one here, not because any of us is worthy, but because of Your amazing compassion and love for us, especially the little ones. He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs with His arm, And carry them in His bosom, And gently…

Just sweeten it and eat it, hot, cold, or room temp. I also add cinnamon. Mmmmm.

Homemade chicken soup. Delicious. I made it thin, since it's slightly medicinal. ;)

Every morning. It works for me.

I don't think you should eat, if you're not hungry.

Sometimes people will vary their caloric intake, making sure that the average over a few days or a week is the same as your goal weight. They say it tricks your metabolism. It's worth a try.

I had a hard time at first. It's best to plan ahead. Then you don't have to rummage around for the right number of calories. If you're over a little, don't sweat it. A few calories here and there don't make much difference. As long as you're eating less than you need (on the average, over the long run), you'll lose weight.…

I've been a Trekky since the 60s, but never a serious one. I like all the StarTreks. Recently I started watching Enterprise. Good stuff. I also enjoy Babylon5 and StarGate. I haven't seen Sanctuary. Can any one answer this question? Why do they have so much ghost and horror stuff, which I don't like, lumped in with Science…

Orange Marmalade.

There are many homemade and generic foods in the food bank. If I don't have time to put in my own recipes, which takes less time that I usually think, I just use somebody else's. I figure that it's probably pretty close. I figure that if I'm logging, I'm ok. I try to not be so religious about these things.
