^ At 20g of protein they are hardly low in nutrition... I eat them occasionally. Love the chunky PB one!

No, I know what you mean. Sometimes veggies just aren't enough! Try nuts, like almonds, cashews, walnuts, etc. Raw, of course. Yes, they are slightly high in calories but I always find them to be a filling snack. And you'll get some protein in!

So jealous of all of you! I'm a runner from Seattle, so I've been running in rain & snow for the past few months :(
-
Nope! That's all included in the BMR. Besides, excercise isn't all about the calorie burn for me, I enjoy it, it's my "me" time, so I have no desire to ever "cheat" by logging things that aren't exercise. I just don't see the point. Besides, you can have your app tell you you burned 1000 calories, but you are just setting…

Without knowing any science of it, I'd say if you are just sitting around you probably aren't burning any calories. I enjoy saunas occasionally, and there are plenty of health benefits to saunas but burning calories isn't one of them. The only way to burn 900 calories is to get moving!

Seriously! Some people leave weights all over the place. If they can't manage to put a weight back in a public place I can only imagine how filthy their houses are, ugh!

I'm boring and I pack the same thing most of the time. I like making a yogurt concoction made of: -1 cup fage greek 0% yogurt -I scoop vanilla whey protein -half cup raspberries -one banana So good and filling all mixed up. About 360 calories and about 42g protein!
-
This is a good thread, but it reminds me I really need to go grocery shopping because I have almost none of my usual things! -Spinach! -Carrots -Low sodium canned black beans -Steelcut oatmeal -Fake meat products (tofurky, morningstar sausages, etc.) -Fage 0% greek yogurt -Whey protein -Bananas -Nuts (cashews, almonds,…

Like everyone else has said...sodium hell! The calories/time you would save isn't worth the bloating and water retention from all that sodium!

"4. No one in the history of gyms has ever lost a pound while reading "The New Yorker" and slowly pedaling a recumbent bicycle. No one." hahahahaha oh my god, everyone at my gym right now. so hilarious.
-
I love bananas! I am eating one right now! Hahahah.

Well I for one like to see new people at the gym IF they are there because they are committed and want to be healthy and fit. However, we all know that there are many people who just join because they feel like they should, take up space and aren't committed to the process. That's frustrating to me. At my gym (24 hour…

Why are you trying to lose muscle? Because with that low of an intake, you will keep your fat and lose muscle. Doesn't make much sense to me! Eat no lower than your BMR!
-
Well I definently feel better after a little bit of exercise when I'm sick but everyone is different. Try something less intense? Or maybe just turn on some music and dance? Don't focus on calorie burning maybe (your body needs energy to fight your sickness) and just try to move in a way that feels comfortable for you. Get…

Lots of whiskey, straight. No hangover, go figure.

I had someone ask me when I was due. For the record i'm 5'6/129lbs, I wear a size 3 pants.....some people are idiots! You should never ever say that to anyone regardless of their size unless you are ABSOLUTELY SURE they are pregnant! It makes me sad reading all these terribly mean things people have said to you guys. You…

I'm no expert but I just got a pair of Nike LunarFly+ (I think that's what they are called?) and they are amazing. I must have tried on a million different shoes but these are great, they provide more support and stability without being too heavy.
-
Yes! I always do, because it distracts me from the sound of my own stomping and heavy breathing (LOL i am not a very graceful runner, oh well). Either music or a podcast, I really love the HowStuffWorks podcast. I'm learning something while exercising and before I know it it's been half an hour, and i'm both smarter and…

No, everything has calories! And yes from what I understand the calories burnt in digesting it make the calories negative (or at least neutral) but I always count the calories for that (and others). And hey, more calories burned than you count=more results!
-
That is exactly how I feel! I'm at a very healthy weight and relatively fit but I am obsessed with working out and I always find something I could be working on! I don't take rest days (I know, bad) but I do keep 1 or 2 days of my workouts lower impact (working in more yoga and long walks). I'm addicted to working out! But…

This is why I hate shows like biggest loser, I used to be fat, etc. NOBODY CAN MAINTAIN THAT! (and you shouldn't, really!). That's a lot of stress on your body and it isn't something you can keep up when you go back to the "real world". It also reinforces my most hated attitude about dieting: that you should just suffer…
-
by "share your opinions", you mean, state that people who are working out differently from you are wrong? hmm. I tend to work out longer simply for the fact that I enjoy it. It isn't just about burning calories and crossing off "workout" from my to do list. I genuinely enjoy excercise. So my workouts do often range from…

I'm not pushy about my vegetarianism, but I find that meat eaters are! Do you ever think we might get tired of the "what DO you eat/do you live on salads?!" questions from ill-informed omnivores (which is what you are, people, carnivores eat ONLY meat).
-
Sit ups can be effective if they are done in proper form, HOWEVER, all the situps in the world wont give you satisfying results if you aren't doing cardio too! What's the use in having awesome abs if they are hiding? hahaha
-
Well anything that would count a bodybuilder as obese must be crap! But I guess it can be useful for some people. I try not to put too much stock into it. If you really need a statistic to hang on to use bodyfat percentage but really my goals all have to do with how I look in the mirror :)
-
I'd say lift heavy and eat protein, eventually it will even out. We have very similar stats and I have thick legs too (but I am trying to embrace it because that is just how I'm built haha). Also lots of stretching, some yoga, and maybe pilates might help with lean muscle mass?
-
You've lost a ton of weight, good for you!
-
It's definently worth a try, but try to find something low in sugar! I incorporate whey protein into my diet (I'm a vegetarian) and it makes me feel a lot better, and I tend to have more energy. You may not need one, but you may like it!
-
I don't, because I'm already emotional enough during that time, I don't need to upset myself more! hahaha I'd say go for it if you want to, as long as you know it wont be entirely accurate :)
