I'm quite confused on Sit-ups do they actually work? Why I'm confused....
1. Infocommercials
2. Ignorant friends
3. Lack of knowledge in exercise.

Please help me :)

    Effective for what?

Building abdominal muscle? yes Losing abdominal fat? no
  • Sit ups can be effective if they are done in proper form, HOWEVER, all the situps in the world wont give you satisfying results if you aren't doing cardio too! What's the use in having awesome abs if they are hiding? hahaha

I think you mean dieting, not doing cardio. You can get abs to show without cardio...you just need to have a low enough bf percentage. So you need to be in a caloric negative if they are not showing yet.

Whatever you do, do not fall for any of the advertising crap about ab machines. They are a waste of money and are of no benefit whatsoever. Just watch what you eat and do normal body weight exercises like sit ups, crunches, v-sits, alternate-elbow-to-knee, planks etc etc
