Thank you. I just calculated my body fat which came out at 33%. To aim for 26% body fat I would need to lose another 13lbs which seems reasonable to me, I am not huge but there is excessive tummy fat there. I imagine I will have to lose quite a bit from all over to shift those last few lbs of tummy fat. What body fat…

Wow thanks for the great answers! That all makes great sense, off to look at those links now.

OK I just recalculated my bmr as I hadn't taken into account the weight I had lost, it is now 1350 calories. So if I am eating 1500 a day is that too much or too little?? Apparently my daily calorie requirements to maintain weight is 1850. Totally confused.

Pilates is muscle toning rather than fat burning exercise. I don't eat back my exercise calories unless I am really hungry, I don't exercise every day anyway so it doesn't seem like much. I thought the average person should be consuming 2000 calories a day, surely I have to make a defecit if I want to lose weight? I was…

Many thanks for your reply. I guess I just need to keep going. It makes me so despondent though :(

AAAgh - you know that would have p*ssed me off when I was pregnant - heaven forbid anybody said it to me now (and with my disproportionate belly from 3 kids I wouldn't be surprised if they did either) How utterly rude, I think you did well to stay there and eat your meal. Some people are just totally ignorant. (((hugs)))

Ah! That's pretty spot on - it has my ideal weight at 1lb under my goal weight - I'll go with that! Thanks for the info, good to know I'm aiming in the right place

Where??

I'm 5'6" and my wrist is 6.25 inches. It told me I have a large frame too, and according to this I am 3lbs under my minimum weight.... And I DEFINATELY am not!!

I did it a few years ago - it was one of the best things I ever did! OK, we did it over 26 days, went the scenic route (averaging 40 miles a day) and camped the whole way so had a fair bit of luggage. But it was so much fun - if I didn't have 3 small children I'd do it again tomorrow!

I was on 1200 calories a day and after an initial good weight loss got stuck for over a month. I also felt rotten - no energy and really grumpy. Once I started eating more I put on a few pounds over a few weeks but then it started coming off again. But still very slowly. Don't go there!

Posted at the same time - that's great info, ta very much!

Thanks - I'll continue to stick to the obvious then

Thanks for the replies. I am running for 30 minutes about 4-5 times per week, so would I need to eat more than 1400 or just stay on that level? Or would upping that excercise be better? But then if I ran for longer would I need to eat more calories??That's where my confusion comes in. My husband made me a deal ages ago…

Definately eggs! You could always make up a chunky omlette/frittata the evening before and then just take it with you if you are in a rush in the am.
