Congratulations on your decision to be sober. Alcohol is deadly, and it can sneak up on you. I think it effects our bodies in ways we don't even imagine. Good for you to be able to choose sobriety. I am cheering you on, I'm sober also, just celebrated 10 years and it's the very very best thing I ever did for myself - full…

I've gone from 143 to 105, am 5'6" and my apron has gone down and doesn't protrude as much, it hangs a little thinner - I walk, garden and do Yoga with an emphasis on really squeezing and compressing my abs. After reading all these posts, I am hopeful that when I get down to my 170 goal weight the apron will continue to…

I have been using the "stop, wait, let some time pass" then have some water, or a bowl of vegies, then decide if I really want that candy bar or unhealthy treat/meal. It's a mindfullness technique I learned about and it works for me. Good luck everyone!! Great thread :)

Hi, and thanks for the great topic. I agree wholeheartedly that life as a 50-60 year old woman is so very different than when we were young - for so many reasons and on so many levels. I am 59 and I started here in 2013 and so far have lost 32 pounds. It has been very hard and I have remained consistent through a back and…

I'm almost halfway to my goal and I feel younger and more fit; It is easier to move and do my Yoga, easier to walk and move around, the weight was really weighing me down. I feel that my hip, back injuries are getting better, and my health is better.

Ask him to stop, tell him you will not respond if he brings it up again and you will walk away. Then if he brings it up again, ignore him, walk away. The best way to stop a behavior is to ignore it. Good luck!!! I completely understand.

I am at the same height and my doctor said 170, so I am going for that ! Although add into the mix that I am mid fifties, going through menopause and it's much harder to lose weight when you age because your metabolism slows way down. I'm hopeful to reach 170 :) good luck on your journey, please feel free to friend me!!!…

Have your tried increasing protein in your last meal of the day and making it tasty and filling? yup, like a "last good feed" best of luck!

Great post, one thing I didn't realize when I bought a trek a few years back was that I need my feet to touch the ground from the seated position. When I got my bike I wanted to be seated more upright because of neck and back issues too, and for some reason they put me into a pretty high bike, which didn't feel right.…

I've been losing slowly with lifestyle changes like not eating after 7:00 and avoiding junk food and many other lifestyle changes. It's okay that it's slowgoing, as long as I stay CONSISTENT with logging and daily goals. Thanks for the thread :)

Yes, I can relate too!!! I had to practically beg for a nasal culture when I was sick with a sinus infection for a very long time, turned out I had elevated levels of staph and needed treatment. I have allergies and asthma too. I am learning to be assertive with my doctors and make the request with conviction if I think…

Hi, I have Hashimotos and did a bit of research with gluten after I felt like I was getting a stomach ache after too much gluten and it turns out you are right there is a connection, but it's with inflammation and overall automimmune disorders, so here is an article.
