if it is a plant, eat it, if it is processed in a plant (factory) , don't eat it. i stay away from all potatoes! they pack the pounds on for me!

it is a civil rights issue - now there are second class citizens in NC, with all that will apply - in law, and in discrimination (and bullying). The NC ban also impacts hetero couples who are in civil unions, which are also banned. The folks who voted for this want to back in 1959, it seems to me. just sayin' i live in…

WOW it astounds me how many pounds folks have lost in only the first month of MFP!! i lost a measly 3 my first month of entering calories (and watching to keep to my goal calorie count per day), but it wasn't till my second month that i lost five more...i lost my 40 pounds VERY slowly (over seven months), but i am keeping…

tablespoon of half and half with one splenda, i enter the half-and-half into MFP! that is not when i am having a small starbucks latte with skim milk and with two-pumps of sugar-free chocolate syrup.

i keep a measuring tape hanging on the towel rack - it not only shows my progress once a week, but it is a daily motivator just to see it every morning! i have stuck around 148 now for 4 weeks, but i have lost inches in that same time and my clothes fit better!!

wow everyone is so active! i did housecleaning today and took a day off from the gym. but hey.....:flowerforyou:

i agree with this above- 250-350 of 'good' protein and fresh fruit, whole grain, etc...is a fine breakfast, especially if you know you will have the right portions later in the day. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!

how wonderful! you are GREAT! thanks for posting - it really helps ---THANKS!

i totally agree here -- change the subject or walk away with a "gotta go work!"!

The brand is "food should taste good" multigrain tortilla chips - no wheat-gluten free with flaxseeds! 10 chips for 120 calories and they taste great!

i have a mantra "eating is not what i do" and i try to distract, by doing anything but heading toward food! i also visualize the hunger pangs as the fire actively eating up my fat. i eat all my base calories and look forward to meals, but no snacking, except for one apple if available. :flowerforyou:

honeycrisp apple!

roasted cauliflower and roasted brussel sprouts with salt - very yummy and filling!

i keep my food diary private except for a few family members and close friends. we have so little privacy in the world as it is - but i am so glad there are these blog postings! i like those a LOT. my only regret for keeping the food diary private is that it hides how healthy and weight conscious a vegetarian diet can be,…

if you ever see ENVY apples (from New zealand) they are delicious! crunchy too - i usually stick with Gala, when envys are not around - apples are good for regularity too!

i find that if i don't get at least eight hours, i feel more tired through the day and have less impulse control (i.e. tired cranky = comfort food). and i agree the more i exercise the less cranky, and the less hungry/snacky i am.

3x a week interval aerobics class at the gym and occasional 30 minute walks on the alternate days. (when the weather is better, i go out walking more, but winter is hard for walks.)

It refers to someone who practices Bhakti Yoga (the Yoga of devotional service to God) - Bhaktin is the feminine form and Stella is my name! My profile pic also relates to that - that every living entity has an eternal unique spirit soul and our identity is not defined by our temporary material bodies which change as we…

I have got 25 to go and having just lost 38 or so since last June - i KNOW i can do it. be faithful to counting your calories here on MFP, record EVERYthing! and move move move. i find that if i have to record it - i won't eat it. and when i turn to food emotionally - i try to stop and think how emotionally good i will…

Potatoes in any form. All cookies and ice cream. i was never a 'chips' person anyway, so they were easy to give up. No sugary drinks AT ALL. My skin is clearer for it, i notice, and i feel better overall!

this is RIGHT ON and true. I agree.

THANK YOU. now i know why i was craving buttered whole grain toast after my workout. I wish i could have understood half of the whole calculation-thingy post, but my local pharmacy does a body fat measurement and i will go there to get that before doing my personal weight loss math. anyhoo...the take-away i got was that if…

Burt Bacharach when i was seven yrs old. i used to go riding horseback with Vincent Sardi (of Sardi's in NYC) in the 1960s, flirted with Robert Plant at a Chicago hotel brunch in 1985, Steve Martin in 1976 and many times again between 1985-1990 when he would come to a little health food store for shakes in Santa Barbara…
