More sleep= less snacking?

What time do you folk go to bed? Do you really find that if you get more sleep of a night time you are less inclined to snack during the day?
I usually go around 11pm but get up at 4.30am some days which is no where near enough as much sleep as I would like to have

i wake up at 4:30am too. i try to be in bed by 10pm, lights out by 10:30, if i'm working the next morning.0

I go to bed between 9 and ten, get up around 5 and I'm hungry all the time. LOL. No idea how much it has to do with sleep.0

No matter how much sleep I get every night. I am always hungry.0

i personally find that YES if i sleep a full 8+ hours during the NIGHT then i have a WAAAAY easier time controlling my cravings and meals. However i found that if i slept durning the day (my husband works night shift so sometimes i get off track as well) that i would be up during the night hours and i just couldnt stop myself from eating almost all night long.0

I like sleep. A lot. If you're asleep, you can't eat (unless you sleep eat) so you don't consume as many calories. That can also be bad if you sleep too long because your body needs fuel. I'm hungry a lot no matter what combination of foods I eat. I've found that exercise does help decrease my appetite though. The more I exercise, the less I want to eat.0

If I am sleeping, I am not eating. lol
I try to get 8 hours a night, 9-10 on the weekends. I have always needed a lot of sleep. Those studies that tell you you are less inclined to be overweight if you get enough sleep? I am an exception to the rule.0 -
I too get up around 4:30 in the morning during the week. Depending on the night I manage to get to bed between 9:30 and midnight. The nights I get more sleep the less I'm tempted to snack the next day, when I'm short on sleep I try to grab lots of green tea bags and red hots. I'll drink the tea through out the day and nibble on the red hots since it's harder to blindly munch on them and they are relatively low calorie for candy.0

Not myself but my husband snacks more during the week and he goes to bed on work nights around 10-11pm and is up between 3 and 4am for work. On weekends, he isn't as snacky when he sleeps 9-10 hrs.0

I go to bed around 11 and get up at 6. My last food is dinner which is before I exercise. I have to exercise at night when our youngest is asleep. So I usually don't eat after 7-7:30 pm. Then I eat breakfast as soon as I wake up.0

I usually look at it the opposite way; on days where I didn't get enough sleep, I find myself wanting to snack more. After observing this in myself for a while, I decided it's due to a combination of many factors. It gives me something to do to stay awake while sitting at my desk, it acts as a reward for sticking out the day even though I'm totally exhausted, and it's providing my deprived body some energy that it feels like it can get from food (even though it really just needs sleep). If I've already eaten something nutritious, I try to reason myself out of the last excuse, and I make myself some tea or coffee with milk and Splenda to satisfy the first two reasons. I also get cold when I'm tired, so a warm drink is satisfying to me!0

This ^^ but change "8+" to "7-8". Any more, and I get sluggish. I can do 6 for a couple days in a row, but I am constantly starving by the second day.0 -

For myself I do notice that if I don't get enough sleep I am hungry all day. If I got enough it isn't as hard to stick to the plan0

6 and a half hours of sleep is nowhere near enough. minimum of 7 to 8 hours is needed. you're forcing your metabolism to work 2 more hours than it is designed for. especially if you are snacking in those 2 hours... I found the best way to get around this is 3 to 4 squares every day. 1 for breakfast... (that one is important) **3-400 calories is best another 400 for lunch around noon. 1 small snack at 3pm, then dinner at 6pm. creating a huge window between dinner and breakfast has worked for me. filling the empty spaces with as much water as possible. dropped 42 lbs in 2 and a half months doing this. going for an additional 90 here.0

Oh, this is definitely another cause for my snacking when tired, and that tea or coffee also helps with. Hands on a warm mug is so comforting to me.0 -
I think there are lots of studies that show that lack of sleep will hinder a diet. If nothing else if you're not getting enough sleep you sure as heck won't feel like exercising. I get up at 5 for work. I "try" to be in bed by 9.0

I am in bed by 9:30, 10:00 the latest. I feel that the more sleep I get, the less snacking I do. I am giving my body a chance to recoup every night and reenergize, but I also eat healthy snacks in the day, ones that stick to my ribs, there fore allow me to snack less during the day. Its all in how you it, what you eat and when you eat it.0

Well I'm on an early start 2mo so I will try my best to get to bed for 10pm. I always get distracted by whats on TV and the net.
