Good work on what you've achieved so far. From someone who used to be in your current situation I don't think you have an issue at your current size. I think there's two things to be aware of that I found on my journey... As the weight comes off, you may need to psychologically adjust to accepting a lower weight loss…

That I'm less prone to falling over as my balance is better. It's bugged me for ages as to why it's the case but today I worked it out. My centre of mass is now directly above my legs, instead of a few inches further forward.

Possibly not the case here, but just so there's balance... My son has been medically diagnosed with allergies to a lot of vegetables. Essentially everything in the legume family (beans, peas, soy, snow peas, chickpeas, peanuts, etc) and nightshade family (potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant/aubergine, capsicum/peppers, chilies,…

You talked about focusing on drinking more water. This was key for me! It took a while for me, when I first started, to adjust to satiating my THIRST which I mistook for hunger (as I had obviously been getting a lot of water from over indulging in food).

I do. I'm a bit of a nerd like that. We live somewhere that's typically hot and humid in summer and mild but never cold in winter. I find that for my regular run my time varies quite a bit with conditions. Interestingly more when it's humid than hot.

Probably not what the OP wants to hear but I find that alcohol has an impact of slowing my metabolism for about 24 hours afterwards. So it "costs" me more than just the calorie count of the drinks themselves.

Awesome! Keep up the good work...

When I'm Feeling like I'm "over" drinking water, I'll add some lemon juice. For me, 1 lemon can flavour about 2 litres of water at a cost of about 12 calories.

This, for me, highlights the difference between dieting (which is what I did in previous versions of trying to lose weight) and a lifestyle change (which is what I've done now and why I'm confident I'll be successful). Nothing for me is off the menu - it just needs to be in moderation, within my calorie count and within my…

Well done. Big effort so far and I'm sure you'll achieve it if you keep focussed.

I used to snore so loudly it would wake the neighbours. I no longer snore. Losing weight has made a huge difference.

One thing I've noticed is that all the airlines have significantly increased the width of seats since I've started losing weight!
-
That isn't a small thing at all!! You should feel very proud of yourself!
-
Awesome! Well done!! I had someone accidentally bump into me the other day and I almost fell over because of the change in my centre of gravity.

My view is it gets easier. Your body will get used to eating a "normal" amount of calories over time - whether 1,200 is "normal" for you, you need to work out for yourself. For me, early on at least, it was easier to maintain my calorie target if I planned my whole day (food wise) either when I got up or even the night…

Fixed it for you!

My daughter, Little Miss Four, said to me the other day "Daddy, your tummy is really fat. It's not as fat as it used to be, but it's still really fat." I think she meant it as a compliment but it was very hard to take it as such...

Personally I try to eat my exercise calories back over the course of a week - I travel a lot for work and it's much harder to stay on target those days than others. Conversely, it's easier to fit exercise into my day on days where I don't travel. Therefore, there's days when I'm over and days when I'm under. As long as I'm…

Today I noticed that I look better in a slim fit suit than a Classic fit suit!

One of the reasons I'm convinced I'm going to succeed in losing the rest of the weight I want to lose (and then keeping it off) is that since being on MFP I've come to the realisation that I'm not dieting. Previous attempts to lose weight have all been diets. Since being on MFP I've eaten ice cream, fried chicken, chips,…
